After consulting his new royal physician for a little over an hour, Alaric was surprised beyond all belief. At first, he thought that Jean's diagnosis was a direct result of his lack of experience, but every time Alaric through an idea out, Jean logically deflected it.

Then, they finally thought of a solution.

"Wait, Jean. What if we used a formation to preserve my life for the instant needed?"

Jean thought about it, before nodding, "Yes. That is a decent solution. You would need to sacrifice a few hundred lives in order to survive for a second, but the lifeforce gathering formation should work."

"A few hundred? That's much less than expected," Alaric said.

"No, King Alaric. You need a few hundred willing participants. The lifeforce gathering formation requires consent. During that time, if you drink the potion I concoct... you would be able to heal this injury. Of course, there'll be a scar," Jean said.
