1 Prologue: Death of a Mega Star

"Billions of fans around the world have gathered to raise their flashlights as they cry for the Mega Star, Steve Hemsworth."

"As you can see, they are lighting up some sort of lantern here in the center of New York as they wait for the news of Steve's condition"

"Earlier this morning, Steve Hemsworth, the mega star, was sent to the hospital for possible drug overdose- the hospital has yet to release a statement as to the condition of the mega star"

Do you see the news? Every tv channel and social media outlets have been covering the same news over and over again.

About some famous personality who is considered to be the best in all aspects, be it singing, dancing, acting... he was the best.

Well, not to brag, but that's me- and I am currently in the final hours of my life.

I am strapped with all kinds of tubes and my body is filled with injections, currently unconscious as shit. What a treatment for a mega star. At least inject some heroin for fuck's sake.

It's funny. There are currently billions of people outside trying to comfort each other, telling each other that it will be alright. That Steve, I, will be alright.

But here, inside this fucking humungous hospital room, I am alone. No one to comfort me, no one to tell me that I will be alright.

...No one to hold my hand to say goodbye.

.....

I am alone even with the billions of people who celebrate my name.

I am... alone.

Now by this point, you are probably wondering why I can even have a monologue if I am currently in a coma.

The answer to that is simply,

I have no fucking clue.

I don't feel anything, if that is what you're wondering.

But for some reason, I can still hear the television in my room, the machines that are keeping me alive, the cries and woes of the people outside.

I am as confused as...

....Wait, do you hear that?

That constant beeping sound...

Is that?

Oh fuck.

-------------------

"This just in, we have... received confirmation... t-that Steve Hemsworth... has died. The hospital has released a statement...."

The terrible news sounded like Satan's laughter as crowds all over the world mourned.

The lights slowly faded away. The lanterns were extinguished one by one and the flash lights were turned off.

And just like that, the last candle turned to smoke, as if confirming the death of the mega star.

But in another world, far away and far different than the one we know, a candle is lit.

And thus, begins the story of Nine- the slave who chained the world with a song.
