THE SHOW must Go on

From the deep dark void comes a threat that doesn't want to destroy or conquer, but to bring you into their empire and protect you, the only catch is that you have to join their great show that entertains and streams content out to their whole empire. This show isn't like a regular game show, but filled with brain eating parasites, alien beasts, cannibals, bandits and only 1 rule, keep it entertaining. These aliens have taken over certain cities around the globe and turned them into gaming areas where they give out objective like quests with the promise of rewards including but not limiting alien tech, human augmentation, worldly delights and anything else you can ask for. Follow Sebastion Denning, a broken human being, both mentally and physically, as he tries to blunder through every new horror and disaster that comes his way trying to erode him piece by piece. He has to make his way through with all of the random skills he's picked up through his life along with a massive dose of luck, both good and bad in spades. this is my first time writing so its rough and probably filled with writing errors, but I wanted to give this a shot so if you don't mind don't ripp me too bad for butchering the English language. thanks and I hope you enjoy it.

The producer 06

March 1st aboard the leviathan capital ship in the producers personal hollo, room…

The producer looked at his carefully prepared script, then to his avatar that he had chosen after mentally digesting and going through all of this planet's cultural theater. He was rather proud of how gaudy it was, thinking that it was nice and eye catching enough as to be immediately unforgettable, he adjusted small things with his humanish avatar, as of course it couldn't be fully human or it wouldn't grab as much attention of those whose race it was supposed to emulate.

He shrank back the cuffs to more expose the blue mottled pattern on his forearms as well as the fact his hands had an extra thumb and finger, he reached up and adjusted the mask to be a bit lower so that his finely manicured tentacles could be seen sweeping back over his neck and falling around his shoulders, and as a bit of flair he decided to tie red ribbons to the ends of each as a contrast. Stepping back he admired his avatar before deciding on one more change, prancing forward he canted the mask at an odd angle that made his face look like it was slightly shifted as if his neck was broken ever so slightly, he liked the small unsettling effect it had.

"Yessssss this is a catchy avatar, hmmm actually maybe just a bit more flair,", he murmured before stepping up and crafting two protruding horns coming out of the forehead of the mask pointing out in a reverse form from what the creatures on this planet usually had, "hmmmm eh let's do this,", he exclaimed playfully as he swatted one of the horns snapping it off leaving a broken stub, "ho ho ho yes that's it, and now just a simple accessory.", he waved and a silver skull topped cane appeared which the avatar snatched before returning to its pose.

"Perfect.", he cooed running his hand around it inspecting it as close as possible to make sure that there were no minor defects that could bring the overall appearance down.

"It's magnificent master!", a voice chimed in from the corner causing the producer to become agitated, "Quiet!", he snapped looking in the direction of the voice and glaring at the prostrated insectoid that tried to push itself lower towards the ground, for its part the korad tried to press itself even lower to show full subservience.

Now that his good mood had been dispelled he decided it was time to get to work, waving away his avatar and bringing his script up towards the main screen he moved to the side and made sure that all of the technicians had the projections prepared across the globe that they were all in tune with the right languages for those regions. He couldn't have anything embarrassing happen that someone might leak out to the galactic highlight reels for them to latch onto. Double checking that everything was correct he finally stepped over to the small raised recording platform, and taking a couple deep breaths he finally stepped up and began the start of THE SHOW this world would be the stage for.

"No mistakes!", he thought, you can do this and everything is set and ready, you just have to kick it off with a bang. With that last thought he chuckled evilly, well more of a slight hissing than a bang really.

Staring straight into the multitude of recorders he could see how his avatar copied his movements perfectly, "Begin count down from ten.", he stated with pure conviction in his voice that he didn't personally feel deep down and began watching the countdown begin towards this world's great revelation.

At zero the recording started but he waited a second for gravity followed by a slow sweep of his head from side to side as if he was an elemental being looking down on those he had fooled into worshiping him, then finally a tap of his cane to gather unrestricted attention followed up by the opening of the gameshow preview line, "Hello gamers, who's ready to become famous?", he said with a grin.

This is his moment, his ascension to greater things, "I am the new producer of this planet, that is all you need to associate me with. I have been given the great honor of being the one that guides this planet's SHOW through the foreseeable events and future! Your species has been scouted and chosen to be the newest entertainment for the galactic gameshow known as THE SHOW, you should feel immense gratification at this!", he tilted his head hoping with the crooked mask it would add an odd aspect to his performance.

"All of you have obviously notice our presence over the past six months beginning with our observatory drones, these were deployed so that we could assimilate your cultures to the point of understanding and comprehension, because to be honest what's the point in watching something you can't understand right?", saying this he gave a bit of a shrug and twirled his cane, setting it down and canting himself at an odd angle, "Everyone on this planet has been given a great opportunity, for those that reach the end of the gameshow events you will be given rewards beyond imagination! You want your own planet? Done! You want to live a life of pure luxury and leisure? Done! You want to sail the void raiding as a pirate captain in command of a fleet? Done! You want to sail the stars at the head of the galactic army? Done! You want to act as a god crushing those before you just for sport? Done and Done!", he then spun and activated the video feed that would appear above his avatar showing just those images of different contestants who did actually managed to achieve these feats eventually choosing their respective rewards.

He took a second to watch the feed with envy, these beings managed to somehow grab the impossible and actually finish THE SHOW, something next to impossible and so unlikely that in the twenty-thousand years of THE SHOW's running only the twenty-two individuals shown in the propaganda feed, plus one, had actually accomplished it. It was something even he could look on with envy towards.

Pulling himself back into character he got ready to deliver the last part of the intro, lowering his head and folding himself inwards a bit to give more gravity for the next exclamation.

Then flinging his arms out wide and rearing his head back he yelled in a high voice, "And now we shall start the preview episode for our prospective viewers to peruse at their leisure. Now let me introduce our antagonists for the preview,", he said bringing his hand up in front of his mask and waving it in front of his face like the small time magicians he had watched liked to do, "alright showmen begin!".

With that he stepped back looking at the instruments and making sure nothing had gone wrong, "Ugh thank THE SHOW everything went perfect…", the producer sighed feeling drained from that small performance, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that his very life depended on how well he did in that last act.

Moving towards his chair he pushed a glass to the side expecting it to be filled with his favorite drink as he prepared to start chopping and editing the footage he would soon start to receive. Rendering was what he was good at and he started to feel more relaxed as he started to watch the incoming information that slowly flooded in, a nice flow to get him ready for the absolute barrage he would be directed in the next day or two from up and coming showmen trying to get a clip on a highlight reel.

"Focus, focus, focus.", this was his arena and he was going to give the beings what they wanted.
