TRAINING

Alex had continued to train his body to be able to adapt to his new shadow powers. He continued to activate shadow dome and would cancel it out every single time. The reason for this was to shorten the time for the skill to appear. The total time for the shadow dome to activate in 5 seconds which during battle could be used to land a fatal blow on him.

He also spent time in his control over his shadow. He tried making it into lots of shapes, weapons included.

It may sound easy but using shadow control takes a lot of Concentration and control over his mind which requires a lot of mental ability.

For Alex to use shadow control, he has to visualize what he sees the shadow he wants to control doing and he also has to hold that image in place. If there is any shift in his concentration of the shadow then, it deactivates itself

During this time, two weeks had passed unknowingly and Lisa had still not returned to a school but Alex still continued on with his training. He didn't care what happened to her as she deserved it and he planned to do the same thing with ever one else who bullied him and made hi life a living hell

But that had to wait now as their school graduation ceremony was closing in.

Every child at the age of 10 enters an academy which teaches them on the best utilization of their individual talents. Some academies also accept those without talents but they are very rare with oakridge being one of them. The reason for this is that there are those who awaken their talents at a late stage. They are known as late bloomers.

This stage starts from 8-12 and after that, it Is considered to be impossible for any other person to awaken because it had never happened before. That's why Alex was certified talentless since he was already sixteen and he still hadn't awakened any talents.

I'm sure ur all wondering what Alex was being taught for those five whole yrs he stayed in the academy

Well..., he basically learnt about the history of their world, the topography and blah blah blah

Anyway, back to the story

After graduation, those with talents are giving two choices, the first one was to become a vanguard

Vanguards are elite groups or individuals who are at the fore front of humanity's defense against the beasts in the rifts

Rifts can appear at anytime and anywhere and it's a vanguards duty to help close the rifts and that is by defeating the boss monster inside

The second choice is to find a job which suits their abilities in which they can make a living

While the talentless as you can already guess are to find jobs that stood within their capabilities

They could also work as a henchman for those with abilities

Alex as you already know which to become a vanguard but since he was talentless, he had given up on that dream.

Now , he had a talent and he was going to make the best of it as much as he could
