Part 6: The escape and the day after

Kevin was in front of William leading Anita holding her left hand tightly. The two boys had specific tasks: the first to clear the passage and the second to protect the girl. These spirit-like figures poured from every direction of the structure. Everything was stained with blood, black slime, dirt, and shards of glass from the various shattered windows. The light was more and more jerky. They took the keys to the main door and as soon as they were in front of the main door they opened it and then went out and locked it again at the speed of light. They saw the spirits and the creature trying to break that threshold by failing miserably. Those strange dark presences kept banging the glass and making strange noises and sounds in the hope of reaching them. They broke the glass of the porter's lodge and left all the keys they had taken in it, then hurried away from that place. It was now dawn when they managed to get out. Though filthy, sweaty and terrified, they were alive.

A few hours later the three friends met again in front of the school clean and fragrant even if not rested. They looked at the school in synchrony and Anita expressed everyone's thoughts <<The windows are intact ...>>. They went inside and William added <<... It's all clean ...>> and Kevin ended with <<... And there are no strange presences>>. After a brief goodbye at the foot of the stairs they parted in three different directions for another common school day. One thing was certain though: they would never forget that night just passed.
