16 16: I got you

"Rise, Adnan," the old man shook him awake. Adnan opened his eyes and gaped at the dream that was his life. "You should get ready. Lady Amoela sent word that you are going somewhere with the king today," the old man informed him.

Adnan reached out and hugged him. For the first time, he had someone looking out for him. Someone he meets first thing in the morning and gets to eat with before he calls it a day. A family.

The old man was with him. Like a grandfather watching out for him. Adnan was grateful to Soren for granting such a gift to him.

"Good morning to you too," he whispered softly. The old man managed a smile and returned the hug. They both embraced each other for a few minutes.

"You need to get ready," the old man scolded.

Adnan hurriedly got ready. He took a cold bath and got adorned in a beautiful blue outfit. He precipitously combed his hair and pinned it down with small black pins.

He rushed to meet the king, motivated by the fact that the king would give him his freedom when he served him well.

At the Jasmine palace~

King Javier sat on the bed glancing up at the ceiling. His eyes stared at the chandelier without blinking. His mind was filled with troubling thoughts. Waiting for Soren to get ready so they can depart.

Soren took a quick shower and walked into the room with a towel wrapped around his waist. Water trickled down his broad masculine chest as he took steady strides into the room.

He walks over to the cupboard hoping to find an outfit to wear. Javier hears his movements and eyes him. Taking in Soren's appearance he shifts his eyes from Soren to the floor immediately. His eyes stole slight glances at Soren's chest.

Soren almost laughs at how obvious Javier is about not looking down. Soren can't help but chew on his nail as Javier continues to stare at him.

Javier feels blood rush to his face. Soren bites his lower lip and smiles at him. "I will lay Zarlos at your feet today," Soren assured. "I have never asked you for anything before but I'm afraid I have a condition this time," he admitted towel blotting his chest.

Javier tensed.

Soren has been on edge since the previous day. Javier couldn't pinpoint what was making him that way. The male acted jealous and possessive. Driving Javier crazy and scared at the same time.

"Did you find the cargo," Javier attempted to change the topic.

"I don't want you to have an intimate relationship with anyone else other than me," Soren claimed to ignore Javier's attempt to avoid hearing his condition.

King Javier sighed. He looked up at the male with worried eyes and spoke. "What's the matter? You aren't acting like yourself."

"I'm jealous of the queen and your slave. The attention you give them an..."

Soren threw the towel harshly to the ground. The frustration in his heart was building up.

"Can't you give me this one thing, I do so much for you," his voice sounded wobbly and desperate. Causing Javier to worry.

"Tell me what the problem is?" the king got up from the bed. He approached Soren to comfort him.

Javier felt guilty. Since the previous day something had been wrong with the one he loves and he wasn't able to see it. He was too focused on Soren's anger to see the pain behind his eyes.

"What happened yesterday when you left the palace?" he asked in a silvery tone. "What aren't you telling me?"

"Why are you changing the topic?" Soren asked in an attempt to change the focus that was on him. He wanted to focus on anything else other than what occurred to him outside the palace.

Javier refused to let go of it. Soren was always a listening ear to his problems. Always there when he needed a shoulder to lean on. And for the first time, fate had granted him the chance to be that for the male.

He refused to let Soren brush his concern off. Javier placed a hand on Soren's chin and forced the man to look at him. Their eyes locked.

"It hurts me to know that you don't trust me enough to tell me what's wrong," he sadly expressed.

"As soon as I see someone get close to you. I get jealous," Soren admitted. Unable to stop his voice from breaking as he spoke. "Yesterday I had to see you get close to so many people. I couldn't control myself," he added.

"Did you find your cargo?" Javier asked again ignoring Soren's attempts at hiding behind his jealous acts to focus on what happened yesterday. The more Soren tried to keep the truth from him, the more worried he became.

The room fell into silence. Javier wrapped a warm around the dragonling. Feeling terrified of his silence. His heart squeezed in pain. Having trouble seeing Soren so weak. "No matter what you are going through, I got you."

"You haven't given me am the answer," Soren pressed.

"I will keep my distance from Adnan and Queen Tamira or any other person in the palace," Javier assured him. He patted Soren's back gently. Soren inched into the hug. Letting the warmth from the king into him. "I won't have an intimate relationship with anyone else."

He closed his eyes letting tears flow freely from his eyes. His hands shaking too much to return the hug. He laid his head on Javier's shoulder.

"We don't need to go for Zarlos today. If you want..."

"We go today," Soren insisted.

Javier sighed.

Soren broke the hug and shoved Javier away. The king was caught off guard and stumbled back. He managed to stabilize himself before he fell to the ground.

The dragon snapped his finger and changed into his outfit. A black mask formed on his face, covering half of his face. Hiding his eyes behind a black mist that oozed out of the mask.

Javier shivered.

It was the first he laid eyes on Soren in such a look. The appearance terrified his worried heart. "What aren't y..you telling me?"

"Now that you've agreed to my condition. It's only fair that I fulfill my part of the deal," he expressed coldly.
