176 Not Giving Them His Consent (4)

The four of them sat on the couch, with Emmett and Jennifer sitting on one and Mary and Damien sitting on the other one opposite to them.

Two minutes passed but no one spoke. Damien and Emmett were having an eye contest as they continued to stare at each other silently, whereas both the women were looking at their partners and then back at each other, confused by the silence.

Mary mouthed at Jennifer, "Why are they so quiet? You speak something to start a conversation."

Jennifer mouthed back, "Don't know why they are not talking? I will say something."

She cleared her throat, "Dad, we are here to tell you something."

Damien stared at her, waiting for her to speak something.

"Uh.." Jennifer nudged Emmett with her elbow, urging him to speak something.

"I want to court your daughter."

Straight to the point.

Damien was a bit surprised to hear the straightforward reply, he wasn't expecting that.

He thought that the man his daughter was dating would at least try to impress him and say some sweet words to make him feel good, but what he said was totally unexpected.

Though he didn't want to admit it, his opinion regarding the man did change a bit.

Just a little bit.

It was just that his notion as a man changed in his mind, not as his daughter's boyfriend.

[A/N: Ha ha, who are you trying to convince here?]

He liked a person who would be straightforward and would not hesitate to put forward his or her thoughts.

So, begrudgingly he had to add pointers for such behaviour in his list.

If only..if only the man in front of him was a stupid one.

[A/N: Soon..soon he will win over you, old man. Just you wait!! Hahaha.]

Mary and Jennifer were also taken aback when they heard him.

Mary nodded at his straightforwardness whereas Jennifer was getting nervous due to the lack of answer from her father.

It had been nearly a minute since he told them his intentions but Damien still hadn't replied.

All of them were holding their breaths as they waited for him to speak something.

Finally, he replied, "I will not allow you to court her. I think you don't deserve her."

All the three had different expressions on their face.

Mary looked disappointed, Jennifer was shocked and Emmett's face darkened.

Though he had already anticipated it, but still after hearing it, he wasn't pleased.

"If you are already dating then listen! Break up this instance. I don't want a man like you hovering around my daughter. I am not giving you both my consent. If you don't break up then don't blame me for interfering in your matters."

Damien swept past his gaze from Mary to Jennifer who looked shocked at his outburst.

Then he finally turned to Emmett, trying to gauge his feelings through his expressions. But was disappointed to see a blank face.

He looked at Jennifer, "One of my friend's sons is coming over tomorrow. Make sure to dress up nicely. Who can tell that you both might take a liking towards each other?" Saying that Damien got up and went inside his and Mary's room.

Emmett fisted his hands tightly at his last words. He wasn't used to such renunciations. In his life, it was always him who had rejected others and not the other way round. No one had dared to do that because they feared him and that was quite plausible as he had reached to where he was now, with his own hard work.

The ones who tried to reject him faced heavy consequences later on.

No, he didn't do anything to them physically. But what he did always disturbed them mentally. They would go bankrupt, in worst cases they would have to lose their shelter and live on the streets. Would be forced to resort to begging. He was cruel to the people who had rejected him or had tried something against him.

He had a dark side, he didn't want anyone to know of it, especially not to Jennifer, not when she just had started to warm up towards him. He had always controlled that side of his whenever he was in front of his family, which included her too.

Very few had witnessed that side of his. His that other side would come up when he would be working as Lucifer: The most feared person in the underworld.

Emmett could feel that side wanting to take control over his rationality when he heard Damien asking Jennifer to doll up for a man who would be visiting them tomorrow. How could he even say that when he clearly knew that both of them were dating. Also, he had just asked for his permission to court her. Today Emmett felt extremely humiliated.

He could feel anger coursing through his veins. But he tried to calm down. The person who just had spoken such things was none other than his girlfriend's father. Jennifer loved her father a lot and he would dare not do something that would make her hate him.

[Emmett vs Damien- Part 2 (Time: Ancient Era)

-The battleground just had the two of them, standing facing each other with their respective weapons.

-Few hundred metres away, beside a majestic throne sat a princess who was nervously fidgeting in her chair. Who would want their lover and father to fight each other?

-But she had no choice as it was a royal decree given by her father, she couldn't do anything about it even if she wanted to.

-In their kingdom, it was a ritual that once a princess was to be married away, her father the king had to fight with her future husband. And if her future husband manages to defeat the king, then only will the princess be married away otherwise she will have to live alone for the rest of her life if any of the men she liked couldn't defeat the king!! {A/N: O_o where do I get such silly ideas? I myself don't know. Well, don't mind me, haha.}

Author: The wait is finally over now. The two great warriors are starting with the long-awaited fight.

- The great mighty author was sitting few metres away from Jennifer, the princess of Diazium kingdom. She had a big speaking trumpet in her hand as she was announcing about the fight going on in front of her.

-The siren buzzed and the crowd began cheering their respective fighters. More than half of the coliseum was filled with the people from the Diazium Kingdom and remaining with the people from the Tessierine Kingdom.

- Emmett and Damien took their respective stance readying themselves to charge forward to attack each other.

- Just as the fight commenced, a loud voice boomed from somewhere near the throne. The mighty author looked dumbfounded as the speaking trumpet from her hand had disappeared.

A/N: So we came to know about a new side of Emmett. A dark side, which he hides from others. I hope you don't come to hate him for that. He has his own reason for that, which would be told in the upcoming chapters. Can anyone guess what might have happened to him for him to behave like this to those who reject him or those who try to harm him? I think you can at least guess the time when that happened to him.

See both of them have their own secrets. It's just that we have to see how they will or will they even accept each other despite those dark secrets? Slowly these secrets would come out once they get emotionally tangled.

I am too excited to write about these secrets as I believe we all have some or the other secrets, which we don't want anyone to find about.

The third volume would be focusing on their past secrets, mostly of Emmett's as there is still a lot of time till we come to know what had happened to Jennifer in the past. So the third volume would have intense scenes, hatred and many more. Just a small reminder, the book has a love-hate relationship. Till now it's all about love. Now I think you can guess what will happen in the third volume.
