173 Not Giving Them His Consent (1)

"Mother, what are you-?" Before she could even complete her sentence, the door was pushed open as Mary walked in followed by her husband who had yet to meet Emmett.

The door was pushed open with such a force that even Jennifer was taken aback. If she hadn't been careful while opening the door, she might have fallen on the floor hard. Now she knew why she was this strong. She probably got her mother's powerful genes with a lean body.

After nearly pushing her daughter with the door, Mary entered the room with a teasing face but her eyes held excitement in them. She was hoping they both had done that deed so she could get a grandchild. Her son was still in the military and he didn't have the time to date a woman due to his continued practice and missions, so she could only expect this from her daughter.

She pulled the stunned Jennifer to the corner of the room and started bombarding her with questions.

[Author: Why do these parents interfere in their children's lives so much? Let them decide what they want to do and please dear Mary be sensible and don't ask Jennifer about their you know...private session.

Mary: Ooy, you shut up and let me talk to my daughter.

Author: Hey, how dare you talk to me like that?

Mary: ...

Author: What?! You dare ignore me, hmph.

Mary, busy trying to get some juicy news.

Author: Okay, poor me. I am going.]

"Tell me, quick tell me what happened? Why did it take so long to open the door? What were you both doing inside the room? See Jenny, even if I am quite open-minded but you should make sure not to get into the mood more often. What would happen if you get pregnant? Are you sure you want to get pregnant now, you are quite young? See even if you get pregnant don't worry we both would never abandon you, okay? I am just giving you an advice dear, don't get me wrong okay?"

Jennifer wanted to ask her why her words and her thoughts were contradicting? She clearly wanted them to have sex and give her beautiful grandchildren but she was trying not to show her real thoughts. Jennifer really wanted to laugh.

Her mother was very excited when she had heard Emmett's voice the first time.

Where did that woman go who wanted her to stay back and enjoy her time with her boyfriend? Who was the one who had asked her to give her a grandchild as soon as possible?

Jennifer didn't know what to say now. She sure had a very weird mother. But what could she do, she loved her mother a lot? Because at the end of the day, she was always there when she needed her.

"It's not as you think it is mother. It was just that I wasn't feeling that great so I just decided to sleep. And Emmett was in the bathroom, he just came out and see he is sitting near the vanity..." Her words stuck in her throat as her eyes widened when she found the chair near her vanity table empty.

She searched for the man who didn't heed to her advice. She found the culprit sitting on her bed as if it was his own.

She forced a smile and turned back to her mother, "He decided to sit on the bed.."

"Hmm, sure he did."

The teasing didn't go unnoticed by her.

"Mother please don't misunderstand, we..." But Mary just waved her hand as turned towards the man who had walked to them.

When the door of his beloved daughter's room opened he entered with a frosty face. What took them so long to open the door? Without even meeting the man his daughter was dating, he had already decided not to give them his consent.

Damien, Jennifer's father was a man with a strong built, his square-shaped face always remained stoic; with gentleness in his eyes only for his loved ones.

He at that time was looking elsewhere when his wife was trying to get some juicy updates from his daughter. His gaze was locked with a pair of black eyes. He was assessing the man in front of him who was leisurely sitting on his daughter's bed.

When he came to know that his daughter had a boyfriend, he was surprised that she hadn't informed him about it. Usually, when she would fancy someone, he was the first one to know about it and then his wife but this time it was different. Even his wife came to know about it accidentally when she heard a man's voice over her phone call with Jennifer.

He was very upset over the fact and decided to give the man a hard time. He wouldn't approve of him this easily.

[A/N: As if you were going to approve of him in your first meet. Don't try to justify your actions, old man. I know how you love your daughter and would not want someone to take away her from you. You just needed a reason to oppose them, huh? Don't worry your son-in-law is a great man, *wink*

Damien Coughs, his thoughts were exposed: Get lost.

Author laughing evilly: Caught you old man.]

But when he saw that man, he could tell with one glance that he wasn't a simple man. With his years of training in the military, he could easily tell about the person's temperament in one glance. Though this person in front of him was hard to read, but he could tell easily that he wasn't a simple person. This gave him one more reason to not accept him.

Conversation of the dear author with Damien when he says that his daughter didn't tell him about her having a boyfriend.

[Author: She was a teenager when she used to have those stupid crushes, she didn't have a boyfriend at that time. There is no harm in telling about a crush you know. Now she has grown up. She will take her time in telling you about these kinds of stuff.

Damien: You, shut up! This is all because of you!! Who told you to write it this way. Now my daughter is not telling me anything, it's all because of you!!] Takes out his gun and points it at the author's forehead.

Author: A huh, my bad, my bad. I remembered something important. See you soon.] Runs away in fear.

Author to herself: The old man is dangerous. What would happen to me when I write something about her getting married to Emmett without the old man knowing. 'Sweats', 'gulps' and 'runs away'.]

A/N- Do you guys like the Author conversation with the characters? Please do comment with a yes or no. And if yes, then do tell me if it is okay in between the chapter or at the end?

There wouldn't be that many conversations as in this chapter and they wouldn't be in every chapter. I would write these types of big conversations only when a new character is introduced. So do let me know what you think about them.
