Sylvia and Clinton

Anna felt she could hear her own footsteps echoing as she walked into her classroom just after break-time had ended. All around her was a deafening silence, because the class had gone quiet when they saw her walking in and they all had their eyes on her like she was some sort of celebrity. Anna smiled inside her, because for once she was the center of attention for good reasons. Yes, the rumor about who her mum was had spread quickly and every single student of Bishop Evangelical College were suddenly in awe of her, or so she thought. They had somehow forgotten about the incident with Queen.

At the thought of Queen, Anna frowned. She didn't want to think about how her life had almost fallen apart. All she wanted to remember was the incredulous look on Deaconess' face when she had summoned her earlier to announce that she was not getting expelled. She was free… and that was all thanks to her mum. Anna looked around the class, observing all the eyes that were fixed on her and Sylvia was one of those staring at her with a kind look on her face. Anna immediately averted her gaze like she hadn't seen her, still angry about their little fight before the whole incident with Queen.

Later that day, Anna took an excuse from the teacher to use the toilet and as soon as she stood up, the eyes of her classmates followed her, watching her every move. And she just couldn't understand why they were all suddenly enchanted by her. Her mum wasn't the only popular or wealthy parent in her school. So many students had celebrity parents and super-wealthy parents, why were they all acting like her mum was the richest? she mused as she walked along the veranda that led to the T-end. She looked up then and saw Senior Gloria and her friends staring at her through their balcony. Fear and anger suddenly crept into her heart, but she noticed that they looked away from her, almost as if they were afraid of having any eye contact with her. And Anna couldn't control the smile that curled up her lips.

Senior Gloria and her friends watched Anna disappear into the T-end. As soon as she was gone Gloria punched the wall with her weak fists, screaming at the pain she was inflicting on herself.

"Gloria, you need to calm down! You are not the only one affected by all this. It is a shock to me! I still can't believe your mum let her off the hook just like that." Goodness said, folding her hands as she watched Gloria pacing up and down in her usual way.

"That little brat got away. When did my mum become so merciful? What did her mum say to make the Deaconess soft? You guys saw how my mum was barking at her when we brought her to her office. So what changed? Why did she not expel her? Instead, she took her anger out on us?" Gloria fumed, her plump face darkening in anger.

"Gloria, you need to let it go! Let it go! You heard what your mum said, right? If we as much as say one unkind word to Anna, we are going to be punished. She has immunity now. So let it go!" Edith snapped, disgruntled by Gloria's erratic behavior.

"My secret, she knows it! What if she tells my mum? She will kill me. I wanted her gone from this school. Oh, no!" Gloria growled, a worried look on her face as she felt agitated about her mum's decision to let Anna stay. She hated that little brat with all her might. What she was going to do now to take her revenge on that little brat without upsetting her mum? What? She thought, her fists clenched beside her as she shook her head violently, whispering to herself. Her friends watched her silently, wondering if she was having a nervous breakdown.

"Gloria, stop plotting against Anna. She is untouchable now. And there's nothing you or I can do about it!" Edith repeated to an agitated Gloria.

"Wait… If we can't get Anna, then we can certainly deal with her friend Sylvia. Remember, we said after dealing with Anna, her friend is next, Right? I mean, I can hurt Anna by hurting her friend. Besides, her friend knows about my secret too. Guys, we e need to plan this. It has to be huge that it will not only destroy her friend, but Anna, too." Gloria babbled to her friends, who were both looking at her like she had lost her mind.

"Won't you girls help me?" Gloria asked.

"Help you? Have you forgotten about the serious warning your mum gave us and you are already plotting another revenge? Seriously, we need a break, Gloria…" Goodness said, rolling her eyes at her friend.

"She won't reveal your secret. If she wanted to, she would have done that already. Besides, she can't go to your mum to tell about you and Mr. Jonathan. Your mum won't believe a junior over you. It's your word against hers. Think about it." Goodness tried reasoning with Gloria.

"You are saying that because you don't know who my mum is. She will never believe me. And my life will be made a living hell" Gloria said in a pitiful voice.

"Look, Gloria, if you were so scared of your mum punishing you then maybe you should have never done the immoral thing you did with Mr. Jonathan. You can't call yourself a Deaconess' daughter and you go around kissing and sleeping with your teachers." Edith snapped.

"Edith" Goodness yelled, staring at Edith with disapproval on her face.

Gloria glared at Edith, suddenly filled with the urge to give her a dirty slap. Breathing hard, she opened her mouth to say something to Edith, but she didn't know what to say.

"Gloria, don't listen to her. But we can't help you this time with your revenge quest. The last thing we want to do is to go against the Deaconess' warning." Goodness said in a kind voice.

"Fine, you guys can go to hell. I will handle her myself!" Gloria grunted, before walking away from her friends to plan yet another revenge scheme.

It was 11 in the midnight just after nights out when Gloria snuck out of her dorm room. It was just the perfect time for her to meet with Clinton for their usual secret romp at the T-end. The hostel light was dim enough for her to move through the quiet hostel to their T-end to wait for Clinton. Her adrenalin pumping faster as she thought about the fun she would have with Clinton and the plan she had to share with him.

Gloria waited for Clinton at the entrance of the T-end as she thought over and over again about her plan to deal with Sylvia. She just couldn't let it go… she was filled with so much bitterness for Anna and her friend. "How could her mum had let that little snitch off the hook just like that? Why" She wondered. And the more she thought about it, the angrier she got. If she couldn't get Anna, then she would get to her through her friend, she promised. Her eyes squinted in her anger as her jaw clenched in anger. But right now, she needed to meet with Clinton to set her evil plot in motion.

As Gloria scanned all around the school, searching for Clinton or anyone at all who could catch them, a male figure walked to her. A wide smile spread all over her face when she saw Clinton's handsome face and confident stride. Even in his hostel nightwear, he still looked breathtakingly handsome. He walked gallantly to her and held her thick waist before giving her a deep kiss. Their bodies pressed against the wall as they kissed passionately in the darkness.

"Wait, Clinton, we need to talk first. It is urgent," Gloria said as Clinton continued to caress her waist.

"Gloria, you so much like bad things… sometimes I wonder if you are truly the Deaconess' daughter. Why did you ask to meet with me? You can't seem to get enough of me, right?" Clinton teased, a grin on his handsome face.

"Shut up! You enjoy it as much as I do. And I know you can't get enough of me. But Clinton, that's not why I even asked for you to meet me. I am here for something serious. It's about your little girlfriend," Gloria said as she pushed Clinton off her, suddenly angry with herself for liking him and the secret affair so much.

"My little girlfriend? Gloria, you know I have so many. Be specific!" Clinton bragged.

"You are so shameless and full of yourself. Whatever… I am talking about Sylvia. The prettiest junior student you can't stop flirting with." Gloria spat, filled with jealousy.

"What about her? Why are we talking about little insignificant girls when we should be having fun now?" Clinton asked, raising his voice at Gloria.

"Shhh… Lower your voice if you don't want us to be caught. Listen to me carefully, Clinton, I need you to deal with your little girlfriend for me. She knows about us and I caught her gossipping about me with her friends. I can't let that go without punishing her." Gloria paused, waiting for Clinton to refuse her demand, but he merely stared at with anger in his eyes.

"If you can't do this for me, then I can't keep doing this with you. I need you to do something so bad to her that will leave her so devastated, so broken… I want her to suffer, but my hands are tied. Can you do that, or do you like her too much to hurt her?" Gloria demanded in her harsh tone.

"Me? If you think I can waste my time liking any girl in this world, then you clearly don't know me. As for Sylvia, I have already been making plans for her. She's on my blacklist already. You don't need to worry about it. She has belittled me a lot… A Bernard like me. I will handle her! I will make her suffer!" Clinton assured Gloria, who was staring at him incredulously. She hadn't been expecting him to agree to her demand so easily.

"Clinton, are you really a member of a bad gang? Does a secret gang exist in this school? Are you a part of it?" Gloria asked, feeling a little bit afraid of Clinton.

"Don't ask me that. Don't ever ask me that! You can't know everything, Gloria. Just know I am going to take care of Sylvia. I will crush her!" Clinton growled, his handsome face suddenly changing to a brutal one.

"What have you planned out for her? I thought you liked her." Gloria asked a furious Clinton, "Can I know what exactly you are planning?"

"No… I will handle her myself." He grunted.

Before Gloria could say her next words, the sound of a car driving into the school compound made her freeze in fear. Someone was coming, someone would catch them, she screamed in her head as they both quickly hid in a corner at the T-end.

From their hiding place, they could hear light footsteps walking towards the hostel. Out of curiosity, Gloria peeped through the corner to see which student had the audacity to sneak into the dormitory so late at night. She was shocked when she saw Edith walking into the hostel limping like she had an injury and she was dressed in a hot gown.

Edith suddenly stopped and looked around the compound before walking into the T-end, where Gloria was hiding with Clinton. Gloria ran deeper into the corner, but Clinton was not fast enough to follow her and Edith saw him.

"Clinton, what are you doing in the girls' T-end? Edith asked, a shocked look on her tired face. Clinton scrutinized her tired appearance, wanting to ask her what she was doing out so late dressed in a short mufti gown. But he was so struck by her beauty that he had no idea when he started flirting with her.

"Edith… You look so hot." Clinton said in a seductive voice as he drew closer to her and held her tight. Edith hugged him reluctantly, still wondering what he was doing in the girls' T-end. But as she looked deep into the dim corner of the T-end, she saw a familiar face.

"Gloria… what?" she asked alarmed, pushing Clinton off her to face Gloria.

"It is very late for this!" Clinton said, holding her back from confronting Gloria

"Gloria, what are you doing at the T-end with Clinton?"

"I could ask you the same. What are you doing dressed like a slut and sneaking in to the hostel like a thief?" Gloria asked, her eyebrows raised in challenge.

Edith opened and closed her mouth, but no word came out. She looked from Clinton to Gloria as she immediately understood what they were both doing at the T-end so late in the night. Her heart constricted as she felt the pain of their betrayal rushing through her body. Now, she understood how loose and double-faced Gloria was… she was just a slut like her mum.

Edith and Gloria glared at each other as they both concluded they could never be friends again.

The next morning, Sylvia sat in her class, writing in her notebook, when one of her classmates walked in, tapped her and gave her a fancy letter. She hurriedly opened the letter to read its content. It was from senior Clinton and he desperately wanted to see her on Saturday night during night class. She smiled as she read his endearing words to her, her head swelling with pride that senior Clinton was in love with her. But her countenance changed to a sad one when she read the letter again, which specifically stated that she was to meet him behind the boys' hostel. "The boys' hostel?" Sylvia shook with apprehension as she looked toward Anna who had been ignoring her for the days, wishing she could tell her about the letter. She needed some advice, but Anna wasn't talking to her anymore.

She looked away from Anna's unconcerned face as she was about to fold the letter when someone snatched it away from her. Alarmed, she looked up to see Stanley running to a corner to read the content of the letter before she could stop him. She ran after him and saw the look of disappointment on his face as he read the letter.

"Give me that note, you stupid boy!" Sylvia snapped at him as she snatched back her letter.

"I just hope you are not considering visiting that dangerous place at night to meet with some senior. Sylvia, for your safety, don't go there! He doesn't love you…" Stanley pleaded with her.

"Shut up! It is none of your business! Mind yourself! Sylvia said, pointing at him before walking back to her seat.

"Sylvia… it's dangerous…" Stanley warned as he watched her walk back to her seat. Anna looked at Sylvia as she heard Stanley's warning, wondering what it was all about. Sylvia noticed then she was looking and their eyes met, but Anna quickly averted her gaze because she wasn't ready to talk to her yet.

Sylvia inhaled and exhaled before making up her mind to meet with senior Clinton on Saturday night. He was in love with her and she really liked him and also wanted to please him, too. Sylvia assured herself.

"I can't wait to see you, dear Clinton. I am scared and eager to see you at the same time." Sylvia wrote her own letter to Clinton, smiling to herself. She raised her eyes when she was done and noticed Stanley was watching her, a disgruntled look on his face. She glared at him as she thought about her dearest Senior Clinton.

Do you think Sylvia is making the right choice meeting Clinton?
