49 What Is Good About A Pretty Face?

She felt the need to whine, so she whined. Ladislas ignored the jibes intended to be at him. The fact he had allowed her to turn into a human was good enough, now she wanted to use power like a non-human but enjoy being a human. In her dreams!

"Is there a hi-tech database we can get into to find a previous address or something like that?" Ladislas asked nonchalantly. "Something that doesn't require me sneaking into the university building or enchanting a human to get my hands on?" Right now, he wasn't in a mood to play around. He just wanted to lay around and vegetate. It was a rare mood, but one he would definitely follow.

"Yes, we could find her family pretty easily. Dunn isn't a common surname," she said with a shrug.

Suddenly, Ladislas felt like he was part of a spy movie, and he wondered how on earth his life had gotten this complicated all of a sudden after thousands of years of… lack of intrigue. But Ladislas knew that Penelope would do whatever it took to find Anna.

"Okay, what do we have to do?" he asked enthusiastically.

"Well," Penelope whispered. "This is pretty crazy but we could look them up in the phonebook!" she squealed in delight.

Ladislas' brow furrowed. "They still make those?" he asked.

Penelope nodded. "They do."

"Well, get down to business then," he said slowly.

"You forgot that I had a third request," Penelope responded quietly, almost fearfully.

"Which is?"

"Master, you skated over the best part of the story. I want to know more about the sex. How was it?"

Unashamed, unabashed. Much like a wild animal.

Ladislas was unaffected as well. "Which part do you want to know?"

"Everything. I have done it multiple times and it sates the urge but I don't know sex good enough that I would find the person for a second round. I want to live vicariously through you." She smiled angelically. "I have never humped a gorgeous stranger before."

"She is not a stranger. And you go to clubs for the exclusive reason to find partners," Ladislas commented. "But to satiate your curiosity, it far exceeded my expectations from sex."

Penelope blinked.

"What were your expectations exactly?"

He shrugged. "Insert pen drive A into slot B. Sounds easy enough. Wasn't that basic. It was great." He had never enjoyed the act of sex before and had not engaged in it because it held little interest to him, but this time… it exceeded his expectations by a huge margin.

"Master," Penelope tutted. "What was so great about it?"

"Everything." His tone was still as nonchalant as ever. "You remember how unmotivating sex was for me. You would think being the son of the demon of pleasure would have benefits but nope."

Penelope rolled her eyes. "The men and women you were previously engaged with considered sloppy kisses and a little fiddling around as foreplay. Maybe some of them were good but they were just… boring," she said dryly. "Most humans are boring. Unless you like the pretty ones. But master… you don't like the pretty ones, do you?"

She tilted her head in question. Her eyes glowed with curiosity.

"If you see beautiful people throughout centuries, you will find those faces loathsome. Uninteresting. What's good about a beautiful face? The standard is going to change in a decade anyway."

"But it's different with little Anna, isn't it? Is she pretty enough to catch your eyes? Was she interesting and perfect at foreplay?" she asked, completely honest.

"She is not pretty. You wouldn't look at her twice if she passed you in the street." There was no remorse in his voice. "She didn't have much experience either. But I had an orgasm without taking matters into my own hands. So, something was definitely different."

There was hardly anything the two of them didn't discuss and his lousy sex life had been up for analysis a few times. Ladislas didn't care to remember those instances.

"A refreshing change. Good for you, Master," she said.

Ladislas grinned wickedly.

"Just a matter I wanted to discuss. If she is homeless, did she look ill or have any mental illnesses that I should keep in mind?" Penelope asked, back to business again.

"She was not crazy. Her mental state was perfectly normal… for her. But she was scared of everything and there was bruising all over her body. She didn't talk, either," Ladislas said defensively.

"And that didn't bother you? That she was hurt?" she asked.

He shrugged. It didn't hinder their ability to communicate. He had healed her for the most part.

"Have you considered that she chose that life? That she doesn't want to live like the rest of the humans?" This was the hard-to-swallow pill.

"She isn't like others, that is for sure. I haven't quite figured out what she is, though. She can't live on the street like some rat and starve to death. That brain of hers deserves something better."

Penelope eyed him suspiciously. "And what would be a worthy position for her? What do you think she should do with her life?"

'Master, wouldn't you be bored and not take a second glance if you had seen her doing a normal job? Would you have thought about her incessantly if she had appeared as the assistant of someone who owed you or as a waitress at a restaurant you frequented? Wouldn't she be plain, then?'

But she didn't say these things out loud.

"Show me how to search for her family," he said to Penelope.

She could see that he wasn't kidding around about wanting to do it the human way. She didn't even whine and call him an old foggie because he didn't give her specifications about the sex. There would be time to talk about all of that later. Right then, he needed to find Anna.

Penelope did a search on some website and pointed to the screen.
