The Secret Life of the Demon's Wife

“You tried to kill me before, why can’t you do it now?” she asked, her eyes burning with fury. “I didn’t love you back then.” He shrugged. “What?” Ladislas Forester was a bored immortal looking for a thrill. And then, Anna Dunn crash-landed into his monotonous life. The first time he saw her, she had sneaked into the men’s bathroom and seen more of him than anyone else had. The second time, he saw her sitting at the back of the class during his lecture, dozing off. The third time, he found out that she didn’t even flinch at the sight of a dead body. The supervillain in him was intrigued. Death to those that say Anna Dunn was a boring girl with no future! She was clearly living a secret life! For once, Ladislas was fascinated by someone. He was willing to put her over the greater good. He was selfish and unkind. She was the invisible hero who could only offer him the second position in her life. Her duty came first. He, though… He could burn the world for one last glimpse of her. And so, the supervillain fell in love with the hero. That couldn’t be a good thing, right? Sometimes, the hero is corrupted by the villain and switches their side. Other times, the villain becomes a wife-dotting slave and gives her everything she asks for. Which one do you think will happen?

The World of the Rich was Beyond Her Reach

Two days later:

Anna sat behind the English Department building in the cozy Tank area and watched as the others passed the joint. She took a hit and held back her cringe before passing it on.

The kids were half out of their senses and it was only ten in the morning.

"I heard Dr. Forester made you stay back after class," a preppy girl she rarely saw said. Anna nodded.

"Yeah, I was tired from the night before and almost dozed off. I had heard he was laid back, man. He wasn't!" she felt indignation when she remembered the scene. Everyone had turned to look at her like she was an animal in the zoo.

"What I would give to be singled out like that by Ladislas Forester," the girl shuddered. Anna threw her a disgusted look. "Don't look at me like that."

"Seriously, he could steal my girl and I wouldn't mind. Instead, I would ask him what she had that I didn't!" a guy muttered.

"Is this something people think about?" she asked, incredulously.

"I am a straight man and I wouldn't mind if Professor Forester bent me over his desk and dicked me." That was an imagery she could go without.

"I don't understand…" she groaned.

"No one sleeps in his class, honey. The man is a sex god walking amongst mortals and you fell asleep in his class." The girl rolled her eyes. "Did you do it on purpose? I can only imagine what he looks like pissed off."

Anna shuddered. The look in the girl's eyes was indecent. "Why would you want him pissed off?" She remembered the look in his eyes. He was definitely not a charming and laid-back man. There was something dangerous about him that she couldn't quite pinpoint.

"Bitch. Have you heard his voice? It's so deep and viscous that I feel like my ovaries explode when he speaks. Of course, if he is angry, I can imagine him choking me with those long and beautiful fingers of his."

Anna blinked. "You guys have weird taste," she concluded. She hadn't noticed the man apart from his beautiful face and lovely cock. Thoughts of Mr. Handcock had stopped there. She hadn't ventured into the topic thereafter.

"I would jump off a building if Forester asked me to. I would even do a line of coke from his butt crack if he asked me to," Lewis admitted.

"You would do it anyway," someone from the group scoffed.

"So, did your mom pay up?" Anna asked softly, her eyes shifting to the boy beside her. He glanced towards her and nodded.

"You would think the Coach would know not to make a fuss by now," he groaned. He quickly grabbed the blunt and sucked on it to relieve some of his tension.

"God, you can't even play soccer. How did you get into the University with a sports quota." She chuckled and blew out some smoke. The rings cascaded to the heavens and she watched with rapt fascination.

"Mom's an attorney, you know that." Lewis rolled his eyes. She nodded. His mom was a defense attorney and a famous one at that. She could spin a trashy story like nobody's business. "The Dean had some charges against him, so she made it go away."

Another shrug.

Oh, the world of the rich. She would never find out.

"What did the fucker do?" she asked, leaning in to show her interest. He looked at her, his eyes glazed over as it fell on her chest. It stuck out and he looked like he was about to salivate.

"Ever heard of the Spider?" He quirked his brow.

"What's that?" she blinked, confused.

"The campus drug lord. You're really naïve, aren't you?" He chuckled and patted her shoulder. "That bitchy Dean gets the best cocaine in the constituency and he has some of the folks on the payroll. They call him the Spider because he traps people and squeezes them dry."

She remained silent and listened to him rant. The weed had gotten him high enough to cut out his inhibitions and she wasn't going to complain. The ramble filled up the silence well enough and she would rather have someone talk her ear off than stare into space like these numbnuts.

"Ricky from the Math Department pays his tuition fees by selling coke to the crackwhores. The man is a mean salesman, too. He could sell you water and make it out to be the mana from the gods." He scoffed. "Bryce from Business school sells it inside chocolates. What an entrepreneur he is."

"God Lewis, you're a gossipmonger." She threw her head back and laughed.

"Well, you're from my department. This philosophy bullshit bores me to tears. You know, I wanted to become a doctor, you know?"

Anna shook her head. "Lewis, my dude, you can buy your way into the Department of Philosophy but for Medicine, you need the brains. And the intoxicants will make your hands shake. Not ideal."

Lewis threw her a dirty look. The other chuckled. She looked around and saw the faces of her acquaintances.

Lewis's father was a local business owner and his mother a defense attorney.

Some of the girls were part-time models who had signed up with agencies.

Some of these guys threw money at the coaches and department heads to get into their courses. Such was the education system. Lovely.

"Y'all. What are you doing here?" a voice boomed from behind them. The voice was familiar. This was someone who had busted them before. Professor Kent was from the Department of English and peeped from the windows from time to time to catch the culprits for the smell of weed.

Most of the time, she escaped before he arrived. The window from which he oversaw the scene was extremely creaky and hard to miss.

She turned slowly even though the others had started to scramble and escape.

"I saw all of your faces!" he shouted. "Don't even try to escape. I'll be informing the Dean about this immediately."

The age-old threat of talking to the Dean. And what did the man do? Slap these kids on the back and send them back to the Tank for another round of weed.

She rubbed her eyes and stared until her eyes watered before following Professor Kent to the administrative building. When they arrived, the pretty-ish secretary sitting outside looked up and scrutinized them.

She let out a sigh and shook her head at Professor Kent. "Sir, the Dean is in a meeting right now. It will take him some time before he comes out," she informed.

The stoners protested. "It's not like we are going to attend classes anyway," Anna joked, a small smile playing on her lips.

"We're trying to help you," one of the girls hissed.

"Me?" she asked incredulously. "How so?"

The girl squinted. "Bitch, he won't say a word to us and leave us be. You, on the other hand, are poor."

Anna nodded. "Well, I am not exactly poor. My dad is an accountant and my mom is a school teacher. That isn't called poor." She rolled her eyes.

"Well, you aren't paying off that pervert's price unless you spread your legs. So, you'll be in trouble."

Spread her legs, too. Drugs, money laundering, and soliciting students? Excellent life this man led.

She stared at the floor plan of the building as the others whispered amongst themselves.

If any of you have gone to the drinking and smoking spot in your college/university... You will know that this conversation is true to reality. I don't smoke and didn't drink through college and university, but I spent a lot of time with people who did. Let's just say... it's a boon to be able to blend in. To become invisible.
