Chapter 4

I've woken up early in the morning. I yawned and checked only to see William still fast asleep. I placed my hand on his forehead and sighed in relief when his temperature went down. I stood up and left quietly to go back to my quarters.

It was 4 am and it was time for me to prepare their breakfast. But before that, I needed to change first into my uniform before serving them. When I was done changing, I hurriedly went to the kitchen and made them some food to eat. When I was done, I immediately head my way to Damien's chamber. That's when I heard someone talking making me stop. I hid behind the wall and listened to their conversation.

"So it's done?" William asked.

I couldn't make out who the other person was but I would know if I base it on the novel.

"Yes. We have closed the borders. The refugees have also been sent away. The money will be transferred soon. There's also a report from the Marquis" someone reported.

"oh yeah?"

"Yes. The council has agreed to your plans. They will support you in the assassination"

"Very well. I will have it all ready on the day of the flower festival. When the moon is in full moon, we strike" said William.

The conversation ended and I hid as much as I could. Then again why where they talking in such a place? They were practically in the hallway, just outside William's chamber. But then again it was still early in the morning and the only people who were awake were the Palace chefs because it was still 4:30. The maids were supposed to wake up at 6 am. I waited for 5 minutes before heading to Damien's chamber only to see him still fast asleep.

I gathered some books for him to read and left him a note what he was going to do for the next week's ball.

______________________________________________

For the ball next week:

Impress the following people. These people will be a great help for you in the future.

Earl Friar Trancy

Lady Katarina Salvatore

Duchess Kate of Roan

Duke Valenciago

Marquess Zylan

Baron Zeither

______________________________________________

The following names were the people who took part of the assassination. If Damien can somehow win their favor, they might change their mind about William succeeding the throne. The only reason why William was favored by the council was because he was the crowned Prince but if Damien can impress those people, they might give him their support for him to succeed the throne instead of William.

The novel has already changed a little now that I have appeared. I didn't know what changed but the fact that they had a personal maid already changes the plot.

Anyway, after leaving such note, I left him his breakfast first and cleaned his whole bedroom. His room was a mess with all the papers scattering around the floor and everything. Even though I cleaned, before he slept, this things are still a mystery.

Before I could leave, I saw Damien getting up. He yawned and rubbed his eyes before he met mine and he looked at me still.

"You're quite early" he said as he got off from the bed.

"Woke up early. Did I wake you up?" I asked.

He shook his head as an answer.

"how was your sleep?" he asked as he ate his breakfast.

"Slept fine. I left a note for you for tonight's ball. I'd follow them if I were you" I stated as I made the bed.

"What's it about?"

"you'll know later. Anyway I suggest you to be on your best behaviour tonight. Or else I might get executed. King's orders" I sighed before finishing the bed.

He nodded. Before I could leave, he asked me a question that made me widen my eyes.

"Do you want to be my partner for tonight's Ball?" he asked making my blood freeze.

"What? How could I possibly be your partner? A mere servant like me couldn't even dream to attend a ball" I laughed sarcastically making him scowl.

'I knew I shouldn't have asked' he mumbled.

"Why are you asking me this question your highness? Thenone you should bring is Ashlene Salvatore, your fiancée" I said in confusion.

"Right" He said quietly.

"Don't be so nervous. I'll still be there tonight. I am your personal maid in case you have forgotten" I smiled at him.

With that, I left and was off to make my way to William's chamber. I knocked three times before I heard the word 'open' and excused myself inside. I look around only to see William sitting on the sofa staring at nowhere. He looked at me the moment I went inside and I placed the food on the table for him to eat.

"I'm glad his highness is feeling better now" I stated.

He nodded and started ignoring the food I just prepared.

"Does his highness perhaps, not like the food?" I asked.

"Feed me" he replied making me raise my eyebrow.

"Pardon?" I asked again incase I heard wrong.

"Are you deaf? I said feed me" he said with his face slightly red.

I rolled my eyes inwardly but nodded for the sake of not getting into trouble. I fed him like a child and he ate quietly which made things awkward.

I was a maid for two adolescents but why does it feel I'm a babysitter for toddlers?.

When I was done, I cleaned up the plates and made his bed and started cleaning his bedroom. I felt a hand tug my shoulder and I turned around only to see William staring at me intensely.

" Yes?" I asked wondering what the fuck he wanted.

"Last night...." He started.

"What is it?" I asked again, still confused as fuck.

"Thank you" he said quietly enough for me to hear.

I smile and nodded at him and continued to clean. Before I could continue cleaning, he made my blood freeze again for the sudden question.

"Do you want to accompany me for tonight's ball?" he asked.
