The Second Chances of Thomas Rath

You know the drill, truck-chan meets person; person meets deity; deity conscripts person for some existential threat to the multiverse; person asks for too much, wait, that’s interesting, I wonder what consequences that may have.

11. Shirone

For any who may not have heard her legend, Shirone's sister, Sandstorm, is a goddess blessed with extraordinary powers after her sudden, untimely demise on Earth. For any who wish to know her legend, it is originally chronicled in "I have become the Goddess of Fateoria".

It took all of 5 seconds for Shirone to find where in the multiverse Sandstorm was. After all, Sandstorm's spiritual presence was about as prominent as the Eiffel Tower in a desert.

Upon re-entering reality Shirone collapsed onto her knees gasping.

The Isekai and the following events had taken a lot out of her.

"Shirone, watch out!"

Looking up, Shirone saw a bludger from the Harry Potter universe charging her face at full speed. She barely had time to roll to the side, the bludger making a small crater where it struck the ground.

"Point!"

That was Lisa talking?

Taking stock of her surroundings Shirone took in what she walked into.

Sandstorm was playing dragon volleyball. For any who may not know what that is, it is a game that Sandstorm invented herself. Currently they were in the monster hunter land arena with the iron curtain activated. Due to the size of this arena, playing volleyball on its own would feel rather weird so there was a giant volleyball court painted using the curtain as a net. Sandstorm, Wiz, Lisa and what seemed to be a Hungarian horntail were positioned in teams on either side of the field. Except it seemed Sandstorm wanted more challenge so she was still in a human form, using the one-punch Metal Bat to hit the bludger volleyball.

Quickly Sandstorm noticed Shirone's presence and waved excitedly.

"Shirone! How's it going?"

Shirone sat back, trying to collect her thoughts, breath, and wits before speaking.

"I...may need your help..."

Shirone slumped in embarrassment. This was supposedly her project, she even asked Sandstorm for the temporary powers to execute an Isekai, and she bungled it right up.

Sandstorm waved a hand at the dragons to wait and jogged over to her dejected friend and sister.

She put a hand on Shirone's shoulder,

"Hey, it's alright, we all make mistakes, can you tell me what happened?"

Shirone nodded and told Sandstorm about everything, from Thomas's memory loss to the fracturing of the limbo between realities, to her interaction with Marius.

Sandstorm stood up, with fire in her eyes.

"He said WHAT?!"

Shirone shook her head,

"I tried to warn him, but he threatened my life and the world of Fateoria if I didn't comply with his demands."

Sandstorm stomped the ground, causing a small tremor in the ground and summoned a sword out of thin air into her hand.

"Get up Shirone, we are going god-hunting."

Shirone looked up confused,

"You're not mad at me?"

Sandstorm smiled kindly at Shirone,

"Not at all, it's largely my fault after all for not giving you more control over the powers I gave you."

Then she turned toward an open space in front of them and willed a tunnel to form between realities. A spiraling portal expanded out of thin air, bridging the realities.

"But threatening a member of the Pantheon? That is an offense punishable by death."
