Shallow Hearts

She found herself in the midst of those strangers along the road. Those boys were standing around her, in a semi-circle. She approached them one by one starting from the very left, she stared at each one thoroughly as if reading their mind and observing their behavior. She just talked to them in a brief moment, then she then left each one after knowing them.

Then, she came to the very last man, he had a father figure looks and it seemed he was so serious and she thought he's a responsible one. She talked to him seriously and after a moment, and asked him something but he reached out his hand and offered her a hamburger. She was sad and heartbroken, she never expected that from him. He didn't respond to her request instead he offered a different thing, the one she didn't ask to.

She was so brokenhearted, the last man she thought that was responsible and matured enough to understand her showed that kind of shallowness. So she started to walk away from all of them bearing too much pain in her heart. But the last man still uttered a word as he's watching her walking away from him,

"...better accept the hamburger and just eat it. We still need a concrete."

But she never looked back and proceeded forward towards her unknown journey.

All those men have shallow hearts and she didn't want to waste time from any of them anymore.
