3. Learning a new skill

As they entered the building, the Atmosphere inside was quite solemn, there were lots of people wearing different sets of identical uniforms carrying weapons entering and exiting the room.

"They are the shinobis of the leaf, the administration building is where they can receive missions and report on their accomplishments" explained the ANBU member in a laid back tone.

Aiko nodded his head expressing his understanding, he noticed that even though the number of people in his surroundings increased he was able to differentiate each aura due to his mapping skill.

They walked through a hallway and went inside a room, Aiko expecting to see hokage saw a few people wearing identical uniforms led by a black haired man with ringed red eyes.

The Anbu member led him inside the room and handed the man an envelope, the man looking at it asked Aiko to sit on the chair placed in the center of the room.

"Hey, inoichi we need you here" called out the man and an ash-blond haired man wearing a red overcoat came over.

"Ok, boy look here" said the black haired man clapping his hands in front of Aiko as soon as Aiko looked over his eyesight blurred for a second causing him to narrow his eyes and soon a cool feeling flowed through his head and his surroundings became clear.

"Well" said the man looking at Aiko in surprise.

"Did he break out of it?" asked the inoichi bewildered.

"What is going on?" questioned Aiko looking at their reactions.

"Nothing just try to relax and don't resist the feeling, we will just ask you a few questions" answered the black haired man.

Aiko just nodded his head and soon felt the same feeling but this time he did not resist and realised that his thoughts have started to become murky.

'Ding! Do you wish to dispel the effects using calm mind skill?' he heard system notification.

Feeling curious, he did not answer and waited to see what was happening to him.

"What is your name?" came a voice from far away.

"Aiko" he answered involuntarily before he could consciously process the question surprising him.

"Where are you from?" asked the voice again.

"I don't know"

"Do you wish to harm konoha?"

"No"

So on, the process continued and he felt like he was an observer in his own body, as it mechanically answered the questions.

But every few seconds a system notification rang in his ear, asking if he wanted to separate from the condition. But he resisted the urge and continued observing as he felt that he wasn't in danger and the mapping skill still showed the surrounding dots with light green or white colour with three yellow ones at the back of the room.

Once the questions were over the man called inoichi came in front of him and pressed his hands on the ground causing the area around his chair to be covered with black markings and a strange chakra entered his body as if intending to scan it.

His body almost instinctively reacted to drive out the strange chakra, but he again repressed it, it was more difficult than before, tempting him to give in to his instinct, but he held on as he felt a little bit excited by the challenge and he also didn't want to waste his previous efforts.

After a few seconds the markings on the ground vanished, Inoichi stood up and nodded towards the black haired man.

The black haired man clapped his hands again and Aiko felt his mind regain full control, just as he was about to ask what was done to him, he heard a system notification making him happy.

'Ding! Obtained new skill instinct manipulation, do you wish to learn it?'

Aiko chose yes without hesitation and soon obtained information regarding his new skill.

'Ding! Skill obtained successfully.

Skill: Instinct manipulation [lv 1]

Allows the host to heighten or dampen selected instincts, consuming stamina when active based on degree of usage.'

Aiko felt happy seeing his new skill and wanted to test it out, but suppressed his urge as he felt that it wasn't the place for it.

While he was checking his system, the black haired man wrote something over the document previously handed to him by the fox masked ANBU and returned it to him.

"Let's go" Said the ANBU, pulling Aiko out of his thoughts, heading towards the door.

Aiko thanked the black haired man and left with the ANBU.

..........

While Aiko was undergoing the test in the other room, on the first floor of the building in one of the bigger rooms the atmosphere was quite tense.

"These types of people are the most suited, they will become the shield of konoha in the future", said a man who was seated on a chair opposite to the hokage's table. He was wearing white robe and looked to be in his fifties, with white cloth covering his right eye and forehead, a wooden cane was placed against the table showing that the user had some sort of disability.

Opposite to him, there was a large chair placed with it's back to the window, on It sat a man who seemed to be in his twenties with spiky blond hair and piercing blue eyes.

Before the man could answer, a delightful voice spoke before him " He is a member of my clan, I am not going to allow him to become an emotionless puppet." she said slamming the table with her hand causing it to rattle.

"They are faithful shinobi of the leaf, who would not hesitate to give their life for the village, I would not allow you to insult them" countered the man looking at the red haired woman with an oval face and fit body, standing next to the current hokage, who was also her husband.

"We are not sure about his origin, and it is a dangerous period just after the war, I think it is safe to keep him where we can keep watch, Minato-kun" continued the man looking at the hokage seated in front of him.

"It's the fourth hokage now, elder danzo and as the member of the same clan kushina has the right to decide for him until he grows to be an adult,'' replied the hokage looking straight into the elders eyes. " The root division is not lacking in personnel, I believe" he added lightly.

A look of anger flashed past Danzo's face but he calmed himself down before continuing, " So, where are you going to let him stay?Do you want konoha to provide for an outsider when we are still suffering from the repercussions of the war?" he asked sharply.

"He is a member of my clan, not an outsider and I can provide and take full responsibility" answered Kushina heatedly and a dangerous red aura started gushing out from her body causing Danzo's eye to shake for a moment with dread.

"Ok, kushina-chan, calm down, elder Danzo was just voicing out his concerns and konoha will not forget the past friendship with the uzumaki clan and abandon its descendant, it will be a shame to first hokage's legacy if we do that." said minato holding her hand to calm her down. Knowing her personality he was sure that she would flip out if this situation continued.

'Oh, being a hokage is not easy' he sighed darkly in his heart.
