It was by mistake

We needed some material like oxygen and carbon dioxide, Co_2 Co_4, and some required chemicals and then we mixed different chemicals, together but it did not work, we were this close to getting the experiment right.

Then suddenly, I and Phiona tried to use our hands and check if it worked then suddenly the thorns of the plants, cut our fingers and our blood dripped from the cut.
