17 Come on, have dinner at my house

"What's wrong?" Gabby asked when she realized Michael was sitting away from her.

Having finished removing all the contents from her nose, Gabby shoved his handkerchief into Michael's hands. The man looked at his wet handkerchief and shook his head.

"Oh, don't return it. That's for you." Michael replied. Though the handkerchief was a birthday present from his grandmother when he was ten years old, Michael couldn't imagine using it again even if it had been washed five times.

"Thank you!" Gabby exclaimed cheerfully. After crying for a long time, the gray feeling that was inside Gabby had disappeared. Now, the gloomy feeling had been replaced by a joyful and bright one.

Suddenly, Gabby's stomach sounded loudly. She grabbed her stomach and then winced when she saw Michael's face, "I'll go home first, see you tomorrow at school."

Solitude crept into Michael's heart again when he heard Gabby's words. The boy wanted her to stay with him a little longer but he didn't say it and only nodded his head.

Michael accompanied the girl down the stairs, his black eyes glanced at Adam as if asking him to help keep Gabby here a little longer. When Adam got the signal given by Michael he nodded his head lightly and stood at the exit.

"Adam? I'll go home first, it's late." Gabby smiled kindly.

Adam returned a friendly smile to Gabby, "Surely the young lady is hungry, huh? Let's eat here first with the young master. Today I happened to try a new recipe and maybe I need some input from the young lady."

Remembering Michael's lunch that always made Gabby's mouth water, she immediately nodded her head enthusiastically. Adam smiled in satisfaction and escorted Gabby and Michael into the dining room.

"Waaah ..." Gabby chuckled in admiration, "Your cooking looks very tempting, Adam." She said when she saw the dining table filled with western dishes. Gabby felt her stomach tremble violently and would drool out if she didn't close her mouth now.

"Hahaha, thank you for the compliment. Now please try, I go to the kitchen first." Adam said shyly. Adam had never been praised, not even once ever since he worked for Michael's family. So now hearing her compliment kind of embarrassed him.

Gabby turned to Michael, "Sit down! I want to eat quickly."

Hearing this made the man feel as if this wasn't his house but he was visiting Gabby's house, "Yeah, let's eat." He replied.

Gabby pulled one of the chairs then sat down and immediately took the food in front of her. Not long after, Michael also pulled out the dining chair and sat next to her.

After Gabby put the spoon in her mouth she immediately closed her eyes and muttered happily, "Adam! Your cooking is so delicious!" She praised, still keeping her eyes closed. Hearing his name called Adam immediately rushed back to the dining room, then laughed when he saw Gabby's expression.

Before this, only the sound of spoons and forks on plates could be heard in the dining room. But now it was filled with praises from the girl followed by laughter from the two teenagers. When Adam looked at Michael he felt relieved that his sad face had disappeared without a trace.

When Daniel looked at the clock that had shown the number eight he felt worried. How could his daughter eat at someone else's house, not to mention a young boy she barely knew?

He walked towards the exit and heard his wife shout, "Daniel! Where are you going? It's getting late, let's eat dinner!"

Daniel turned around and saw his wife's face, his face flushed from holding back his anger, "My wife, listen to me carefully. Right now I'm going to Michael's house and bring our child back to eat together here." He put his hand on his waist then continued, "How can I let our daughter eat at the boy's house?"

Agnes glared at her husband and answered, "What's wrong with you? Gabby is all grown up! Besides, she is currently eating at her future husband's house, not at another man's house."

"My wife," Daniel sounded agitated, he felt a fire growing inside his heart. After a few seconds he sighed and then continued, "Alright."

"Let's eat. Later if we can't finish it I'll put the rest in the fridge."

Agnes took a plate and then spooned the rice on her plate. When she saw her husband was still standing by the door, Agnes chuckled and then asked, "Until when do you want to stand there?"

Daniel made a sad face and then dragged his feet towards the dining table.

When Gabby got out of Michael's car she was immediately greeted by Billy's distinctive voice, "Good morning boss!"

Gabby turned and sure enough, she saw Billy and Jeremy standing still in their school bags not far from Michael's car. Billy's eyes had been watching Gabby while Jeremy looked away and avoided her gaze.

Billy ran over to her and said in a cheerful voice, "Boss! I've been waiting for you here!"

"Hey, I'm not your boss." Gabby said, glaring at the man's face.

From the corner of Gabby's eye she could see Michael getting out of his car. The girl immediately stood next to Michael and grabbed his arm, "Come on husband, let's go inside."

Husband?!

Billy's eyes widened in shock as he heard the words come out of Gabby's mouth. His eyes followed Gabby and Michael's backs getting farther away in a disbelief.

"Boss?" Jeremy asked carefully.

Billy's face flushed, he muttered something then walked away leaving Jeremy alone.

In the class, Gabby's friends were confused when they saw the change in atmosphere between Gabby and Michael. Yesterday Gabby looked like she wanted to strangle Michael's neck but today, she looked like she was in love.

"Michael, do you want to eat apples or not?" Gabby asked, handing him her meal.

After not getting an answer, Gabby asked, "Do you want to eat this?"

"If you don't want to, I'll eat it." Before long, a smile graced Gabby's face as Michael grabbed a slice of apple and ate it.

After eating the apple, Gabby walked out of the classroom to wash her hands. When she turned around she saw Lauren and Angel standing in front of her with suspicious faces.

"Are you feeling better with Michael?" Lauren asked.

"Hmm yes, last night I went to his house and apologized." Gabby nodded her head.

"Well, that means we can't go home together, then?" Angel asked, adjusting her glasses in front of the mirror, not seeing Gabby's face.

"Hahaha who said we couldn't?" Gabby chuckled and then continued, "Yes, I'll go back to class first."

-

When the bell rang for breaktime, Gabby hurried out of the classroom to go to the cafeteria. Suddenly, Billy stood in front of her and made Gabby stop walking. She grunted irritably and then asked, "What do you want?"

"Hello boss! Where are you going?" Billy replied.

"I said I'm not your boss!" Gabby shouted.

"I don't care! Anyway I will still think of you as my boss!" Billy replied loudly.

Some students there looked their way and clapped their hands. Some of them were patting Billy on the shoulder, encouraging him. Billy was blushing so hard as he kept his gaze straight on Gabby's eyes.

Annoyed, Gabby turned and walked away. Not even five steps ahead she felt someone tug her back. She turned and found Billy holding her shirt tightly. Suddenly, Gabby grabbed the man's hand and stomped his feet as hard as she could.

"Ouch!" Billy walked backwards holding his leg.

Gabby corrected her disheveled dress and clapped her hands twice, "Next time you bother me, I'll beat you even harder."

The girl then noticed some movement at the end of the corridor, then took her eyes away from Billy. Michael was walking toward them. She quickly walked towards the boy.

"Michael!" Like a happy bird, she stepped quickly towards Michael, grabbed the man's arm and then continued, "I didn't do anything with Billy! I'm just teaching him a lesson."

Everyone in the school corridor looked at them with their mouths open slightly. They wondered, 'Is this really the real Gabby? Are Michael and Gabby dating now?'

Michael tilted his head and looked at Billy slowly standing straight. He then looked away and grabbed Gabby's hand tightly, leading her away from there.

And to everyone's shock, Gabby easily followed Michael without protesting!

"Boss ..." Billy softly whispered. He did not dare to approach the girl, his left leg still ached.

It didn't take long before he shouted, "Boss, I won't give up!"

Billy didn't know what was wrong with himself. The man didn't know why he wanted Gabby so badly to replace him to be the boss of the Black Snake gang. The man was determined to always follow Gabby even though she always hurt him.
