The School's Princess is My Boyfriend

“Are you ready?” I asked, holding the flash up. “As ready as I’ll ever be,” Yale said, staring straight ahead as the light lit up the entire tunnel. We waited a second before the ground started rumbling and shaking. I whistled, “This is going to be a big catch.” Yale didn’t answer, she was too busy preparing herself as we watched hundreds of gooy creatures running towards us. “Darling?” “Already on it.” In the prestigious school of an unimportant name, is where I go to, with my girlfriend, Yale Cassese. The Princess of the school. Popular, beloved and wealthy. She has it all. And yet she chose me, so you gotta understand that maybe she does not really have it all, you know. Then again, I accept so maybe we are on the same boat. As normal as our day life is, our nightlife tends to be much more interesting. We live very different lives comparing our day to our night lives. She is Yale when she wants to be and then Rumant, my boyfriend, when he wants to be. I don't mind either of them, honestly. Either way, they are my life and I will protect them from anything that dares threaten them. Even if that is ... me.

"There you are, I thought you ran away." One of the boys said, pointing at me. I can't remember who from before or if they are even the same people I talked to only before.

Honestly, they all look the same, I can hardly tell one person from the other. It's annoying me like nothing else.

I had to be checked for this and found out that I had Prosopagnosia. That was one of the reasons why my parents left me behind to deal with the debt, hoping I will forget their faces if they are gone long enough.

But that is with kids, not me. Once I remember a face I never forget it. But people that I don't see as important … my brain just turns off the ability to store their faces in my memory.

"You are all douches, you know that?" An auburn-haired boy said, frowning at them as he slung his bag over his shoulders.

I think I know him. His name is something like … P? No, B?

We made eye contact and a bright smile come on his face as he waved at me, "Zion. You don't have to fight them. Don't worry. I'll just tell my folks to take care of their families."

Bo-y? Nope, that is not a name. B something. What was it again?

"I agree," Yale said, sneering at the boys in front of us. "They are going to be easy to get rid of."

"H-hey! No hiding behind your girlfriend and classmate!" One of them shouted.

But I really have no time to try to remember their faces. What was this boy's name again? He seems ok. What was his name? It was something ridiculous.

"What? Too scared to say anything, you really are hiding behind people because you are too scared! You fucking nobody!"

"Yo-"

"Ah! I remember!" I shouted, pointing to the boy. "Your name was Bil right?"

For some reason, the entire place seemed to fall silent as I looked around, "Am I wrong?"

"Zion~." The boy clasped his hands over his mouth, tears in his eyes. "You remember me! After years of me reintroducing myself every time I saw you."

"Huh? Years? Didn't we meet each other this year only?" I asked, getting more confused now.

"No. But it doesn't matter, I'm just happy you remember me." He said, beaming before his smile faltered looking at Yale narrowing her eyes at him. "Sorry, madam."

"Whatever." She scoffed but I can feel the jealousy radiating off her.

I guess it's cute.

"Hey! What were you doing while I was talking to you!?" One of the boys shouted, stomping on the ground. "Pay attention! Let's have a bet!"

"What bet?" I asked, tilting my head at them.

"If you lose you will have to give your girlfriend to us."

I don't understand why but that sentence rubbed me the wrong way instantly. Annoyance growing in me.

"She is not some property that can be passed on from one person to the other as they wish," I said when I felt a hand on my arm.

Yale had a glint in her eyes, turning to them she said, "Fine. But if Zion wins. You will have to give him five per cent of each of your families companies."

"Fine."

"Whatever."

"It doesn't matter."

"Shares?" I asked, looking at her.

Shrugging she said, "It's something small. But I am sure you will be able to do many things with it."

"There is no contrac-"

"I have the contract written down here," Bil said, holding out a piece of paper. "I just wrote it down now. Read the conditions and see if you will agree to them or not."

"Good job," Yale said to the boy but neither was smiling at the other.

Why do I feel this chilly air in between the two, for some reason?

Both sides read the conditions of each side and agreed, though I am still a little iffy about this.

"I don't like this though," I said when it is my turn to sign. "You shouldn't be part of the tradable items here."

"Don't worry about it." She said, waving her hands away dramatically. "I am the one that instigated this. Besides, I have absolute faith in my boyfriend." Placing a kiss on my cheek, she whispered, "Careful not to kill them."

"I'll try," I said.

"Hey! Loverboy! Are you ready to be beaten in front of your girlfriend?"

"You are so noisy," I said, Yale taking my bag from me as I walked to them, cracking my knuckles. "I need to take Yale somewhere important so let's get this over with already."

"You sure are cocky." One of them said, grinning at me as he charged. "Fine. Let's see how you handle against us. We are all black belt in marti- ugh."

I didn't even need to do anything. The five of them charged at me at the same time and I just moved out of the way as they crashed into each other, stumbling to the ground.

Around me, I could hear some snickering and that was only when I noticed the number of the crowd around us.

Since when did they get here? I need to be a little more alert.

Jumping out of the way of a punch, the boy fell face-first on the ground, groaning in pain.

"Careful, you ran quite quickly at me," I said bending to see his bleeding nose. "I think that's broken. You will need to have that checked."

The other four charged at me and attacked but they were slow. Compared to the creatures we have to take care of every morning, they are nothing.

Though I do not attack them for two reasons. One, I have never spared with a normal human; it's always machines or other people like me. So I don't know what one punch from me will do to them.

Two, winning without having to hit them sounds a little fun. And I will have the alibi that I didn't even touch them. Though one part of me wanted to get a good hit for considering Yale to be an interchangeable property.

But, judging by how this is going, I don't have to do much. As they keep missing me, they grow more and more agitated and their attacks grow desperate. So they become uncoordinated.

Those are the easiest fights to win if you are able to keep up a calm mind and see the openings in their attacks. Then it is a clean and easy win.

Standing over five wounded boys, I dusted my blazer and cleaned my glasses before walking to Yale and Bil, the latter's mouth remained agape as Yale congratulated me.

"I knew you could do it." She said, handing me my bag. "Though, you could have finished this a lot faster than you did now. You were just playing with them, weren't you?"

"I had to release some of my frustrations." I shrugged, throwing the bag over my shoulders as I turned to Bil. "Are you ok?"

"Of course I am not!" He shouted, pointing to the boys on the ground. "Do you know who they are?? I'm guessing you don't so I will just tell you myself. They are all from influential military families. And you beat them!!"

"Oh. Ok?"

"Why are you acting like this is not a big deal?!?"

"It isn't."

"It is! I don't know what to say will happen to you if their families get angry at you." Bil said, pacing back and forth as murmurs filled the crowd I completely forgot was there.

"But I beat them fair and square," I said looking at Yale. "Right?"

"Yup." She said grinning at me before her smile disappeared the moment she looked at Bil. "Besides, they will not be able to touch him. Zion is mine after all."

"Of course." He said, mirroring the fake smile she usually gives to teachers. "I remember that."

"Shall we get going then, Zion?" Yale said, wrapping her arms around mine. "You wanted to take me somewhere, remember?"

"Oh right," I said, turning to Bil. "Thanks for your help today. I will have to get going."

"See you tomorrow?" He asked, almost unsure if I will even remember him then.

"Sure," I said, walking away. "Tomorrow."

"Seems like someone is getting popular," Yale remarked as she followed me down a road.

"I could see how many people were ogling you, sweetie," I said, looking at the map on my phone. "I didn't think you could get any more popular but I stand corrected."

"I am not talking about me."

I paused, putting my phone down, "Who are you talking about then? One of your friends?"

"No!" Rolling her eyes Yale just walked ahead. "Never mind. You are denser than I thought."

"Sorry?" I asked, still very confused as we stopped in front of a large gate. "Oh, we are here."

"This place?" She asked, looking at the white building in front of her, gulping.

Even I could feel every atom in my body telling me to turn and run before anyone in the campus turned to look at us.

Why does it have to look like THAT place?
