75 THE MARQUIS

As soon as Liam had returned her towards her household, he waited for her to enter their house before leaving the area, together with his knights and his dear friend, Benjamin the aid that helps him with everything.

"Now I'm curious about your lady, it makes me feel want to introduce myself to her and know her further—"

"Stop it now or else I will slice your neck with my sword." Liam's voice suddenly went cold, disdainful and serious. He was threatening him just because of a joke which Benjamin just laughed off.

Seriously, this man is already possessive of her even though they had no relationship with each other than being a friend towards her.

"What do you mean? I'm curious about her personality. Who knows? She might have someone or even men lining up to her door—"

Liam unsheath his sword, pointing the end towards Benjamin's neck, his eyes glaring at him as it was showing no mercy. His nose flared, eyes dilated and his eyebrows crossed each other, glaring at the man in front of him.

Seeing how serious he was, Benjamin laughed. That lady must've left a deep impression on Liam to act like this.

"Relax, I won't do anything. She's not my type at all so calm down and don't attack me. What are friends for?" He snorted, rolling his eyes while pushing the sword away from his neck.

Shit, he was really serious there, wanting to cut his neck. He was only joking with him. "That's right, don't be dumb next time or else I will spill your blood," Liam commented, rolling his eyes and sheathes his sword back.

"Anyway, other than that, should we investigate who sent the assassin to her? Poor lady must've dealt it alone without even perfecting how to use a damn sword. Now I'm curious, how was she able to fight off the assassin if she doesn't know how to use a sword?" Benjamin asked Liam.

They all knew now that the real Saintess was Felicia and they intended to keep it a secret. If someone decides to betray them, they must run away before they can catch and kill them immediately.

"Yes. We need to. This will not be the end of it knowing that the assassin that was sent died, the people from the church might send another one." Liam agreed with Benjamin. They need to investigate it.

"You'll teach her tomorrow, right? Make sure that she properly learns it or else she might not be able to survive. It's hard to use a sword after all, especially since she's a girl. Can a girl might even have the strength to carry a large sword?" Benjamin asked, in disbelief at Felicia's character.

She's becoming more interesting but in the way that he's romanticizing it. It's just cool to find someone, especially a girl, who knows how to use a damn sword.

"You don't have to tell me about that. I already know what to teach her." He answered, looking out the window while staring blankly outside. He could never feel like he was being entertained.

Unless Felicia is by his side then he agrees that he's always entertained with her.

As Liam finally arrived back in their manor, Benjamin opened the door for him as he stepped out of the carriage, his face devoid of emotions as the door opened widely, revealing the rich interior of the household.

"Where did you go?" Someone suddenly asked as Liam entered the castle. He looked back, not shocked anymore to see his Father reading some newspaper while his legs folded, reading the newspaper carefully.

"I greet the Marquis." He greeted, bowing his head in accordance with the law. He still didn't show any emotions, except for the coldness displayed on his face as if it was his neutral image.

"I heard that you went with the Lady of Del Montague." His father said as he put the newspaper down, eyes staring at him directly and stood up. "Tell me Liam, what do you see in her?" He asked, approaching Liam who still bowed, refusing to answer him.

The Marquis, his father chuckled at his behaviour, raised his hand and hit Liam through his cheek, slapping him that made a loud snap echoing inside the room. The slap was so strong that Liam's face faced sideways, and his cheek went red at the same time, it was wounded because of the ring on his finger.

"Stay away from that woman and fix your goddamn relationship with your fiancee that I picked for you. Only ladies with esteemed reputations can become the Marquess of the house, not some Lady with bad records." His father slammed, looking at Liam with his eyes glazing with hate.

"Tomorrow, go and meet the lady of Count Leopold. His daughter is currently the most promising bride-to-be. Don't disappoint me, Liam. Because I can immediately cut you off if you do." He muttered, leaving him standing and left the room.

"Tsk, if only your brother is alive. He's far more competent than you." The Marquis commented, staring at him with disgust and finally left him alone in the entrance.

"Young Master!" His butler called, approaching Liam and offering him a towel. "Let me take you to your room—"

"No, I'm fine. Tell the servants I'll have my dinner in my room." He answered coldly and left the butler feeling troubled over the relationship between him and his father.

"Young master..."

"Where have you been? AND WHAT HAPPENED?!" As soon as Rachelle arrived back at the manor, everyone was acting frantically as soon as they saw how messy she was. Blood covered her torn dress and was only wearing a torso.

As soon as Alexander heard the news that she had come back looking awful, he immediately rushed outside of the manor, only to see Rachelle wrapped in a thick comforter, assisted by their servants.

"Someone attacked me. The good thing was that his Lord Liam was there, rescuing me from the trouble." She said, wiping her tears while acting pitifully in front of Liam whose face was covered by worry and concern.

He was checking her whole body, trying to assess if she ever wounded herself. "Shit! Have you seen the assailant's face? Did he look familiar to you? I'm going to fucking kill him." Alexander asked, growling over the fact that someone dared to actually touch her.

The nerve of that someone trying to do something bad to his sister!

His eyes darkened over the small blisters on his feet after one of the female servants removed the shoes from her feet, revealing a bloody mess. She must've run away in order to save herself from being murdered.

"I swear to the Goddess, Felicia. Whoever did this to you, deserves tenfold more than what you've experienced. I will make sure of that." He added, his voice sounded so menacing, full of threat and anger.

His eyes were clouded by hateful gaze, gritting his teeth while his fingers grew tight over Felicia's shoulders. He was consumed by anger at this point, wondering who had the guts to hurt a pure-blooded Del Montague.

"Alexander, calm down... I am fine..." Felicia said, wincing in pain as she was getting medicine, getting her wounds disinfected and sanitizing it. Plus the fact that his fingers gripped into her shoulders makes it even more painful.

Alexander wasn't convinced by the fact that she was fine. Her tears were obviously telling him that she had a rough day because of that unidentified man. He sighed, removing his hands from her shoulders and looked at the servant with his outraged eyes.

"Call Helena as fast as you can. If not, I will personally send you to the Goddess' side." He suddenly put a threat towards the servant who immediately scoured out of the room, calling for the Saintess who is his sister.

"Don't worry, I will do everything in my power to find the person responsible for this. That man deserves to die." He swore himself towards Rachelle who just blinked in disbelief.

But how can he do it when she has already killed it? Plus, Liam's knights had already dumped the body somewhere else or they probably buried it somewhere else, away from anyone. It was the right thing to do at that point.

"Young Master..." The servant called the one whom Alexander threatened earlier to go and fetch Helena. "Yes, what is it?" Alexander asked, his eyebrow cocked upwards, looking at the servant, perplexed.

"Young Lady Helena refuses to tend the first Lady saying it is not her job to assist her." The servant said, trembling because of fear. Alexander might kill her because of the news she delivered.

"WHAT?!" Alexander exclaimed. If he was being animated, smoke would be coming out from his ears and nose, provoked by Helena's actions.

"Alexander, calm down. It's nothing serious. I can recover if I rest—"

"Shut your mouth!" Alexander yelled towards her, glaring at Rachelle which made her shut up. "Tell her that if she still decides not to come here, I will cut off her allowance and trust me, she will not like it if I do that." He snarked, his finger pointing at the scared servant who immediately ran to fetch the Saintess once again.

"You shouldn't have bothered. I'm actually fine." Felicia sighed, rolling her eyes over Alexander's overacting worries. It's not like she's going to die so why is he troubling Helena?

But at the same time, Rachelle was reminded that she should seek her capabilities today to figure out if she still has that weak power of hers.

Ten minutes later, Helena finally came with her face sunken, groaning silently while showing displeasure on her face, clearly forced to do something which she didn't like.

Well, she can't do anything unless she wants to get famous once again since the majority of the servants are on Rachelle's side now, they can easily ruin her reputation.
