89 A SUDDEN VISIT

"You cried so much, you would've created a pond if you cried more." Alexander teased as Felicia wiped her face with a towel that Olivia had. She then glared at Alexander, teasing her right after she was done crying.

"Really, Alexander?" Felicia commented, rolling her eyes. This dude finds comfort in bullying her. "What? I'm just making you laugh because you look like you're about to cry for more." He replied, letting out a small laugh, and having fun teasing her.

"Did it work? It didn't, right? it's corny too. Don't joke again. Even dead people won't laugh at your jokes." She replied a harsh comeback that wiped the smile off of Alexander's face. His face then sulked at how harsh her rebuttal but it wasn't really that painful in his ego.

Meanwhile, Olivia laughed after witnessing the young Master's golden expression. It was like watching someone getting karma immediately. Alexander just glared at the two for bullying him instead and pouted.

How evil.

"Alright, I won't. I don't want to joke with you anymore." He sighed, faking sadness but then later on smiled. "Reminds me, I'll have a word with the Duke later. If he dares to spit the same bullshit, then I'm not calling him father anymore." He added, surprising the two.

What in heaven is he speaking about? He's dragging his end if he decides to do that!

"Alexander, you don't have to do that. You are his heir, everyone would insult you if you chose my side. Calm down and we can just do something that won't result in this kind of conflict once again." She sighed, shaking her head.

She could feel her head throbbing already as she imagined how chaotic it would be if he decided to face the Duke head-on. He might even lose his position as the heir if that happens.

"Like what? Ignoring Helena? That's something that won't ever happen. That woman will continue harassing you whenever I'm not with you." He groaned as he replied. "Besides, don't look at me like I'm weak. After handling the Duchess' authority, I was able to learn a lot, especially how I can use my position as the heir." He chuckled, brimming with confidence.

"He's right, My Lady. That woman won't leave you alone even if you ignore her. That childish woman would still haunt you. On top of that, the Duke cannot just remove him from his position as the heir. There are no other male relatives or another son to pass down the Dukedom." Olivia butted in.

"There's still the possibility that he would adopt someone from the streets. Just like what he did to Helena." Felicia mumbled, then proceeded to laugh at her own harsh words against Helena and her mother.

"Right... But don't worry, it's just a small talk. He'll probably be angry at me but not extremely furious." Alexander responded, pouring himself a cup of tea and sipping it.

"The Crown Prince is quiet, no?" She suddenly opened up as their talk had died down after it just ended with Alexander wanting to talk some crap to the Duke.

Alexander's ears suddenly perked up as his eyebrow cocked upwards, looking at her with half-squinted eyes. Opening up the Crown Prince suddenly made all of his attention directed at her.

"So? Do you miss him? Goddess, Felicia. That man is a damn—"

"Damn what?" Someone suddenly interrupted them, making the three flinch at the sudden arrival of the Crown Prince, accompanied by a servant. Oh, this is a rare sight. He wasn't accompanied by that brat and her dog.

"We greet His Highness the little sun of Elysium." Alexander and Felicia stood up from sitting down, bowing their heads at his unannounced arrival. Olivia too was kneeling on the ground, respecting the Crown Prince.

"Raise your heads," Constantine demanded, letting them raise their heads. "Is this the way you treat your old friend? Cussing behind his back?" He mocked Alexander, grinning ear to ear and looking like he was greatly offended by it.

However, Alexander just smirked at him, instead of apologizing sincerely in front of the Crown Prince. His arrogant and brazen behaviour in front of him made Constantine even more annoyed but decided to keep it to himself rather than attack Alexander.

"I could ask the same, your Highness. Is that the way you also greet your old friend? By crawling your way into infidelity?" Alexander asked, his face exuding an innocent face, smiling at Constantine who grew red.

Meanwhile, Felicia and Olivia just stood there and didn't know what to do. At some part, Felicia wanted to laugh and wanted to push Alexander more into throwing gasoline at Constantine's growing fire of anger while at the same time, she wanted to ease the two.

Even if Alexander witnessed that happen, they still have the memories shared together.

"What the hell did you say—" Before he could even finish his words, Felicia knew that she had to put herself in the middle of the two.

"What are you doing here, unannounced your Highness? I thought that we had already talked about arriving unannounced. This is quite disrespectful and improper, your Highness." Felicia asked, didn't even let him finish.

"What do you mean I didn't? I sent a letter, dictating that I will visit you. It took a while because I was busy with my responsibilities being tasked to me as the Crown Prince. I hope I didn't make you feel lonely throughout the days." Constantine replied, holding her hand placed a kiss, staring into her eyes.

This infuriated Alexander and Felicia. However, her expression was nailed deep within her, while Alexander's expression was quite visible on his face.

"Olivia? Did you receive a letter from the Crown Prince?" Alexander asked, turning his head towards Olivia who then shook her head. "I have not received any formal letter from the Palace regarding the Crown Prince's visitation." She answered.

"Nonsense! I sent a letter days ago for you to prepare for my visit!" He frowned. "That servant is lying. I already learned from my mistake." He even added, defending himself.

"You! I asked you to send a letter addressed to my fiance, right?" Constantine turned towards his companion, a butler from the palace. Must be his personal butler since his companion quite aged.

"I did send a letter in her Lady's name. It is impossible for the lady not to receive the letter when I personally told the messenger to directly give the letter to you, my Lady." The butler responded, polite as he could but those eyes screamed poisonous.

Like a snake's eyes.

"See? I told you." Constantine said, giving her the look that screamed he was absolutely correct. "Nevertheless, I am already here so you can't do anything about it." He added, invalidating her response.

"I am sorry, your Highness but my sister and I are currently having our time together. I respectfully request for you to go back and set another schedule to visit my sister." Alexander said, looking dead into Constantine's eyes.

"As you can see, she's already spending her whole day with me. She's busy, so please go." He added, holding Felicia's hand, staring at Constantine like he was some sort of a wild dog that he needed to send away.

He's a rabid dog, he contains rabies. It's the right way to protect his sister from this wild scoundrel.

Felicia was lowkey amazed with Alexander standing up for her. Like, damn. Where the hell is this guy's personality hiding? Where does he get his nerve to answer the Crown Prince like that? Isn't he full of surprises?

"Are you telling me, to leave my fiance alone, old friend?" Constantine asked, didn't flinch under Alexander's coldness, withstanding his criticism while looking back into his eyes darkly. As if he would let her go.

"Yes."

"That certainly can't be done, Alexander. I am her fiance, after all, it is her duty to visit me and entertain me. But instead, I am the one doing everything that the lady should do. It's our responsibility." Constantine said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"You don't get to decide what I should do, Alexander. I am still above you, don't forget that." He even added, smirking sinisterly towards Alexander who was now fuming mad at the Crown Prince.

"Stop it, both of you," Felicia said, stepping in front of them to stop them from howling at each other like wolves trying to figure out who was more dominant. "Your Highness, I am preoccupied with my brother. We are actually discussing things relating to his authority over the household. I ask that you instead go home and shall visit you sometime sooner—"

"That can't be done, Felicia." Constantine interrupted, shaking his head in rejection. "I shall join the two of you and listen to every discussion the two of you make. I shall wait till the two of you are completely done." He insisted, pursuing to join the three of them.

In Olivia's eyes, this suddenly turned into some kind of a novel. Her mistress is kept in a fence by the young Master while the Crown Prince is trying to make his way to her Mistress. Isn't this some kind of a novel indeed?

"Your Highness?" Someone called Alexander was about to reject the idea of the Crown Prince joining them for discussion. The three of them turned around, only to find Helena acting innocent in front of the Crown Prince with a smile on her face.

"Your Highness! I greet the Prince, the little sun of the Empire." Helena curtsied, bowing her head. Meanwhile, Felicia suddenly felt cold and stiff. What the hell is she doing here?

"Helena." The Crown Prince called, soft but with hesitation. "Raise your head." He commanded which Helena followed up, smiling at him then her blue eyes turned towards Felicia who remained expressionless in front of her.

"Sister..." She suddenly called, and there she went again. Acting crap. "Helena, why don't you accompany His Highness while Felicia and I continue with our interrupted discussion?"Alexander suggested, saving Helena's acting before it could create another misunderstanding.

This woman wants attention, he'll give it to her.

"If you say so, dearest brother..." Helena replied, grinning ear to ear while thumbing back the strand of her hair behind her hair. Meanwhile, Constantine showed a vile expression towards Alexander for pushing him away.

"Please, let me accompany you, your Highness," Helena asked towards Constantine who remained silent, looking over Felicia as if he didn't want to move at all.

However, Felicia only looked at her, signifying to him that wasn't this what he wanted from their first interaction. "Go ahead, your Highness. My sister is docile. She won't bite." She smiled, her words filled with sarcasm.

With no other choice, Constantine left alongside Helena and his companions, leaving Alexander and Felicia wearing victory smiles on their faces, completely forgetting the fact that Olivia witnessed everything behind their backs.

'What a complicated novel.' Olivia thought to herself and just shrugged.
