Jake recieved a good stat bonus along with a good an art from all his fights The last fight didn't activate any mission which meant that the opponent wasn't strong enough for the mission to be activated.
He had managed to win around 500K by now. He had never even heard about such a high amount of money in his entire life. This would help him live a comfortable life and prepare for the selection without any glitches.
Jake decided that it was time to go back as he had complete the mana training mission before he allowed himself to rest.
He took the money and was about to exit when, a man came.in front of him.
"Our leader would like to have a little talk with you." The man said in a nervous tone. After he saw how easily Jake had destroyed the opponents, it was quite clear that he wasn't Jake's match.
"Here comes the trouble." Jake nodded and followed the man.
....
In a particular room-
"Here comes my new champion. Would you like to have a drink?" The leader offered.
"I wouldn't want to. I have other places to go. I would like to end this conversation as fast as possible." Jake insisted.
"Well, I couldn't help but notice how famous you have become in your recent fights, and I would like you fight one more round to make this betting house some more money." The man said.
"I don't want to." Jake was straightforward. The men beside the guy were feeling irritated, but they didn't make any sudden moves, as they knew about Jake's strength and the leader himself signalled them to stand down.
"Well, how about this then. I would add another 50,000 cash units if you accept the fight. No matter if you win or loose. You take home an extra 50K." The leader said.
Jake thought about it. He knew this was a trap and they were going to set him up against a very skilled fighter, but he hadn't even shown half his strength, so he was confident about winning.
Jake looked at the leader after some time and said:
"Make it a 100K and I will gladly fight." Jake said.
The leader's expression turned serious, but inside he was laughing out loud as the fish seems to have taken the bait according to him.
"Very well. 100 K it is." The leader said.

Minutes later-
The announcer came forward to give an exciting piece of news to everyone present.
"A new piece of news has just arrived. Today's main event has been decided and you people are going to love hearing who the fighters are."
"With 5 wins on his first day here, the first side is occupied by none other than Grinder." The audience cheered out so loud that the entire room was filled with noise.
Jake walked into the ring, amid the huge waves of cheers for him. He had better the entire amount of 500K units on himself. To his surprise though, the ratio was not in his favour as he would win 2 million if he wins the round.
"Facing off against him, is the strongest fighter within the eastern suburbs. The undefeated champion. Let us welcome, Dominator." The judge announced.
The previous cheers which supported Jake, suddenly changed to supporting Dominator. This guy was the undefeated champion of the fight ring.
Jake looked at his opponent and to his surprise, he wasn't to big. His figure almost the same size as Jake and he was thin. Jake felt that the opponent looked weak.
The next moment though a message popped up.
"Combat Mission: Assailant Extermination
The host has come face to face against a powerful enemy. You are required to stay alive and kill them to complete the mission. If the host succeeds, a huge stat bonus will be awarded.
Objective: Defeat the enemy(0/1)
Rewards: Strength +2, Endurance +2 , Agility +2 , Mana +2,
Secret Reward: A hidden feature of the system will be unlocked."
Jake never expected the enemy to be so strong that the system would give out such a mission. The system was actually asking him to survive and defeat, not just defeat. The rewards were also highest Jake had ever seen.
"I guess, this isn't going to be a easy fight." Jake took his position and so did the enemy. Unlike others, this one wasn't underestimating Jake.
The enemy rushed in and attacked Jake. The speed was so fast that Jake almost lost his eyes back there.
Jake.managed to dodge it, and jab at him, but enemy was extremely flexible, as they curved their body to avoid Jake's attack and then used the rebound to rotate and kick him in the head.
Jake lifted his hands to guard against the attack. Even after using both his hands, the attack was powerful enough to push him back by 10 steps.
Jake was shocked to see this. He could feel the intensity of the attack from the last encounter.
"This is going to be a desperate fight." The figure rushed to attack Jake, who dodged and used the footwork technique to enter the close-quater of the nemey before landing a punch on the lower chin.
The enemy was dazed and Jake used this moment to , kick him right on the belly before jumping back with help of the rebound.
The impact was strong enough to blast the figure back with so much power that he almost landed on the border of the ring.
The figure rose from the ground and looked at Jake with surprise in their eyes.
"You are quite skilled." The enemy said to Jake.
"I know. So are you. " Jake said.
"I guess, you deserve to face me at my full strength. Remember , this is just because I was forced and not because I hold any grudges against you." The figure said as the atmosphere within the ring changed.
A stream of light grew from his body and covered his fist.
"Is that what I think it is?" Jake thought.
The next moment a figure appeared right in front of Jake and punched him in the face. Jake was able to fend off by putting his hand in between, but the punch was strong enough to break his bone.
"I know now. This guy is an awakened." Jake said to himself. This fight just got a whole lot dangerous. He had to fight an awakened. The leader of this ring seems to have cheated him good.
