Jake managed to kill the second one after a lot of effort.

When Leon saw how much energy he had to spend to kill a single goblin, he would be able to take care of three to four more goblins, before taking a break. The others would have to hold the goblins back or there would be no way they would survive this brawl.
Mona had already shown her powers and was constantly trying to hold the goblins back, while Luke and Amelia were trying their best to attack too.
Jake just didn't understand why they were not showing their own powers. It would be much easier to deal with these monsters if they did.
"They must be trying to hide it for the next round." Jake thought. The next round required them to fight one on one with the opponents.
It was better for Jake if they did that, since he would be able to get the maximum kill.
after killing the third and fourth one, Jake found his HP to have decreased by a lot.

Jake wasn't sure how many more he would be able to take on with pure physical strength and hence he decided to use his mana.
The last time he used it was against the awakened in the second round.It was powerful enough to knock him out. Jake felt that he could achieve the same effect with the goblins.
He concentrated mana into his arms and fists and attacked the goblins. The process that was consuming a lot of efforts, soon became incredibly easy.
"Mona concentrate on the ones in the left." Jake asked Mona to switch target as he rushed towards the two who were blown back by her.
He attacked them with a combination of sword attacks , punches and jabs with the dagger.
It was taking some time to clear the ground, and the situation turned serious, when something unprecedented happened.
Just when Jake killed the fifth one and managed to subdue the sixth, before dying, the monster managed to stab him on the right abdomen with a knife.
Jake killed it by piercing its brain though the eyes, but the damage was done. He was bleeding and his HP count was decreasing at a very fast pace.

Jake tried his best to get up and attack the goblin being held back by Luke. Luke was forcefully pushing the goblin back and Jake got a good opening within its defences to penetrate his blade into the his heart through the ribs.
Jake was feeling exhausted as the world around him seems to change colour. He knew he was losing consciousness and hence wanted to eliminate one more.
This time he asked Luke to follow him and they ganged up on another goblin with Amelia to eventually eliminate it completely.
Jake retreated back and said to the trio.
"I will leave the last two to you people."

Jake pulled the knife out and tore his shirt to cover the wound as tightly as he can. The constant dropping of HP finally stopped as he breathed a sigh of relief and began to breathe using the technique.
His mana and HP began to slowly recover as Mona fell from her position. The constant usage of her power for such a long time to hold back half of the goblin troops had drained her energy.
She was sweating a lot, as she too was starting to have hallucination and eventually collapsed on the ground. Amelia and Luke were concentrated on killing one goblin, while no was looking at the last one which was rushing towards Mona to kill her.
Jake wanted to shout, but he knew that Amelia and Luke wouldn't be able to make it in time. He had to take action himself. He jumped from his location and threw the sword at the goblin.
The sword hit him on his face, distracting him from his true objective, which gave Jake enough time to reach near Mona, while holding dagger in one hand and wearing knuckles on the other fist.
Jake assumed the attacking position and prepared for the assault. Rather than charging , he wanted to defend while trying to get in attacks through the goblin's defense as attacking would cost too much HP.
He used the breathing method while standing and slowly began to concentrate mana into his hands once again. He knew that he would have one chance to either kill or die in the goblin's hand.

The goblin ran towards the duo while swinging his sword and trying to slash at Jake. Jake dodged at the last second before ducking sideways, twisting his waist and jamming the dagger right through the stomach, into the goblin's diaphragm, and then it's heart.
The two figures fell down and Jake was covered with the goblin's blood. Amelia and Luke eliminated their enemy before getting a view of an injured Jake lying below a goblin corpse and Mona lying behind them.
They rushed in to help Jake, but he had already lost consciousness.

Hours later-
Jake regained his consciousness and found himself on a bed being surrounded by doctors who were monitoring his situation.
"The procedure is done, you can proceed to the next round." The doctor said to Jake who checked his entire body, especially the areas where the dagger had penetrated him. He found them completely healed up and was relieved.
" Did we pass?" Jake asked.
"Yes you did. The fourth round will start within one hour and you need to rush into the ground if you want to take part." The doctor said.
Jake got up and rushed out of the room.
