Chapter 7: Trust.

Note: alright my doods! Here is another chapter for y'all.

Not much to say in this one, except to enjoy it because this story is genuinely fun to do and I'm happy you doods like it!

This story is a joint effort between me and @unlimitedblades so show my co author some love because he's an amazing mate.

Ok, I lied, I DO have something to say, a question to be exact.

Everyone knows about the Impure World Resurrection, the life hack that grants an endless AND indestructible army of dead people.

Me and my co author are thinking of applying that to Jaune, so if we do agree to that. What Naruto characters do you want to see added? Kakashi? Gai? A Kage? Etc.

They can be from other villages then the leaf but Naruto and Sasuke aren't to be included, I have a plan for those two.

Jaune Arc was a blonde man wearing nothing but his jeans, while sitting in front of a pond that was located in the same park that he was using to practice water walking.

The blonde man was looking down with a scrunched up face that showcased irritation as he tried to push chakra into a leaf, which was proving extremely difficult as the damn thing didn't accept chakra very well.

Three days had passed since the event of the robbery, Jaune was obviously and painfully aware of his lack of combative abilities, sure he can use his chakra enhanced physical prowess but the redhead dust thief was a fully trained huntsman especially since the jinchuriki saw his aura reserves, quite large for someone so young.

So for the past few days, Jaune was focusing on elemental chakra control which Juubi said to push earth and water chakra into a leaf because natural organic and inorganic material outside of the human body doesn't accept chakra and those that do can do things to the leaf while signaling that he was ready to start training with elemental ninjutsu.

Jaune was curious why he was focusing on two elements that aren't particularly known of being strong, plentiful due to earth being the very thing that every person is on, and water is easy to find however Juubi claimed that he was made to focus on Water and Earth because he planned on teaching Jaune to mix those chakra to formulate an 'Advanced Elemental Chakra' which was considered Kekkei Genkais, Bloodlines, since only specific people can manage to do so.

The one eyed hermit crab however was vague on what type of advanced element though Jaune speculated mud since mixing water with earth usually formed mud.

Alongside channeling chakra into a leaf for most part of the day, what Jaune has been able to make a breakthrough was fuinjutsu seals, having learned the basic storage seal and the more dangerous explosive seal.

Jaune also played with a theory of his, if he can apply seals onto physical surfaces, he could also do the same thing with his own body which prompted the blonde to convince his two roommates for some cash so he can by a tattoo gun, filled to the brine with chakra receptive ink.

Therefore, Jaune applied three seals onto his body.

The first was a strength seal which allowed Jaune to utilize even greater chakra enhanced strength, he would be like a more believable hulk.

Though the strength seal was the kanji 'power' with small ink markings around it, it was located on both of his upper forearms and they can only be active for 5 minutes before the force extraction and redirection of chakra will burn through his muscle tendons as well as ruin the seal itself which will require time to fix.

The second seal was another physical enhancement seal, which was located on his nape on the back of his neck, it was the kanji 'Heal' with the same coding markings around it but it protruded two lines about an inch going upwards towards the skull and one downwards on the spine, this followed the same principle as the strength seal but it was applied to heal wounds that he will sustain on the field but like the strength seal, it requires a chakra charge to be reactivated.

The final seal that Jaune applied was on his ankles which had the kanji 'speed' which again follows the same principle as the other two seals along with coding lines.

Jaune toyed with the idea that if he ever did end up going through the Roman Torchwick incident so he wouldn't have to constantly rely on the Susanoo nor his newly named mangekyou ability called 'Suijin' which was the ability granted from his left eye, and molded into form with his right effectively named 'Tsunami Style'.

'Damnit! Besides the seals, I have no other ability I can call on to help me in initiation. And I can't seem to push my chakra into this leaf! God damnit! What else can I do!? We leave for Beacon tomorrow..' Jaune thought to himself as he grew increasingly irritated.

Juubi had often said to the blonde jinchuriki that power doesn't come in a single day but the prospect of the initiation is weighing on his mind deeply so the one eyed beast chose not to respond anymore to that particular subject.

"Try solidifying your aura then push it into the leaf to change its molecular state" a voice said which Jaune was about to mentally thank the hermit crab in his gut only to blink several times as that voice wasn't demonic sounding plus sounded high pitch so he turned around his head to find a woman with a black blouse, red grieves and boots, a red skirt and powerful red eyes which looked vaguely familiar to the drunken huntsman that Jaune met last week.

"Uh…Who are you?" Jaune asked as he was curious on who she was but while he wasn't thinking of the leaf in his hand, he didn't see or notice that half of the leaf had turned into dust while the other half became soaked with water.

But the woman saw and was impressed by what she saw, primarily because fortifying a leaf would make it near indestructible, an exercise she gives the young of her tribe to strengthen them into powerful warriors.

But the ability to change matter into different elements is going to be a HIGHLY sought after skill from others, and her.

"Raven, I'm the older sister of the weak man you've met before" She said while walking over to sit close to the kid but remaining enough distance to attack, a precaution for her if she gets ambushed during a meeting.

Jaune watched the woman move her sword and it's chamber to rest on her left shoulder, he could feel that she was on edge for whatever reason "Wait. Weak?" The blonde man tried to recall but the only men he'd met closely for more than an hour was Qrow, Ren and Ozpin, all of whom felt very powerful to the blonde ninja.

The woman's eyes gazed down on him though sighing as he wasn't getting the person she was referring to "Qrow, I'm Qrows older twin. Names Raven"

Jaune raised an eyebrow as she was named after a bird, as was Qrow "Ok? Though why are you talking to me? I'm no one special"

"You're stronger than you think kiddo, my little brother told me about your fight against the Nuckelavee so I decided to see you myself. Remember seeing an odd raven in mistral?" Rae asked, watching the jinchurikis facial expression change to a thoughtful one.

Jaune did indeed see an odd bird watching him from one of the light posts before entering the bullhead docks "Yeah, I did see a strange crow watching me-" He started to say only to get slapped prompting him to grab his red and growing swollen cheek then flinched heavily at the black haired woman's heated glare "Raven! Not a crow! A raven! More specifically! That bird was ME! Not my pathetic and idiotic brother! Get it right or the next thing I'm using WONT be my hand!" Raven shouted at the boy who nodded swiftly.

Because 1: he didn't want to unleash his Susanoos armor in the middle of broad daylight in an attempt to defend himself.

And 2: this chick was scary as fuck!.

However the information that the woman had shapeshifted into a bird had finally been processed which almost got Jaune to drop the molecularly changed leaf "Wait what!? Did you say you can shapeshift!?" He shouted, however quickly covering his mouth to look around in a dorky way.

The Bird Shifter Woman had a twitch to her right eye and had an involuntary flashback that she was dealing with her idiotic husband all over again, nostalgic but uneeded for her overall goal with the boy "Yes, you can consider it a…Curse, from Ozpin" She responded hoping to fan the flames of mistrust in the boy to the silver haired headmaster.

Jaune was about to delve further into her ability only to stop completely at the concept of 'cursed' and having been told Ozpin was at the center 'Wait…why would he do that to someone? Sure the ability to shapeshift is a desirable power but the way she sounded, she doesn't seem to want it…'

"That's because she didn't child. Ozpin is a typical War Hawk, someone who desires strong soldiers under his banner to continue a war. Some war hawks will justify their actions with morality or desire or etc. I didn't say this back then because I want you to make your own decisions but do not trust that silver fox, he's craftier than you think and I can sense that he caused a lot of suffering indirectly" Juubi spoke up since the black haired shapeshifter had first made an appearance.

'But that isn't right? What right does he have to voluntarily curse someone without their say?' Jaune thought as his face soon scrunched up in anger.

"That's the point, whatever this crafty fox's 'justified' reason, he's obviously not concerned about the lives of the common folk"

The woman spoke up, continuing the conversation "Anyway, there's a reason why I'm here and unlike my idiot brother, I don't beat around the bush. Let's say…I was intrigued by you, your power is beyond anything in the modern age"

Jaune had to suppress a grimace from that line as that was one of the few reasons why he wanted to hide his power, because if people knew, they would start asking him for help and while helping is a part of the whole hero job, however these requests are more selfish.

"It's best you listen now, Greed may be bad in your eyes child but it can be a desirable path when it comes to elevating your status. Selfish as it may be, greed is a natural human sin that runs deep in all humans, I've seen it for the past several million years but it's through human greed where Ninjutsu was made and weaponized, it's where Genjutsu and Taijutsu were formed. Greed may be initially bad but it's something that gives rise to other things. Listen to her then you think of what will happen after

"If it weren't for human greed that weaponized Hagoromo's Ninshu, the shinobi world and their arts wouldn't have been formed so it's best to think of silver lining in deals like this" Juubi gave its thoughts on the subject because there was nothing bad about being selfish every now and then, along with the importance of hearing these little requests.

Jaune gave a slight smile as he wouldn't have figured that out on his own though now, he'd find ways to help improve himself and the lives of others, along with allies being a desirable benefit because even Jaune isn't that strong currently with very little in his list of techniques and skills "Right, my…'Semblance' is rather new to me and I'm still discovering it's exact abilities"

"Expected, Semblances first discovered are often put through a process called 'Trial and Error' that only you can discover the strengths and weaknesses. My Semblance is called Kindred Link, it originally allows me to create portals close to people that I have a strong bond with but years of training allowed me to evolve my semblance to teleportation portals, I can arrive anywhere I wish so long as I have been there before or if they are in a line of sight" Raven explained her semblance with the young man.

"This is a butter tactic, she's exposing the core of her skill set to get in deep with you to spill your own core skill. A lot of Shinobi used this tactic in information gathering missions though with false skills. But she's expecting something so explain this to her" The one eyed hermit crab then started discussing what the blonde should say.

Jaune repeated the words from his inner demon "One of the aspects of my semblance allows me to turn my energy into a physical object which is how I turn the physical energy into half a humanoid skeleton"

The woman seemed to nodded at this then gave a soft smile "Well then, I'll get to my point, I have a feeling you're going to be much stronger in the near future so I would like for the tribe I command to be your ally. In return for your strength in the future, you'll gain my tribe's support, assistance if you so need it and me as your ally, I am a premier huntress even if I'm retired. In return, I'll be asking for your help…obviously nothing you'd be willing to do, you're still a boy after all but you'd be in the center of something much bigger, which we both need each other for survival" Raven explained the details of their deal.

Jaune raised an eyebrow at the prospect of being in the middle of something much 'bigger' he wasn't sure what that meant but it obviously didn't sound good if the bird woman had to underline that they needed each other just to survive however the blonde jinchuuriki chose not to expand on that so he can do research on his own time so deciding to go over the deal.

"Ok, Firstly in return for my growing power and support, you'd give me the support of your tribe?-" Jaune stopped momentarily so the woman can nod at that "-and any physical assistance if I so desired, along with the support and assistance of a top tier huntress? While that does sound good for a deal, you're committing to something far greater, as you had assisted me with the transfer of energy, so anything else you can add to the deal?" The Growing Shinobi said as the one eyed hermit seemed 'Adamant' for the blonde man to push further on his side of the spoils.

Raven blinked a couple times then her mouth twisted upwards to a grin "I like you kiddo, most who tried to make deals with me were often off put by my history and the fact I lead a bandit tribe-"

Jaune was about to raise that fact only for the red eyed crab to speak up "Don't bother child, the ONLY difference between Shinobis and Bandits was the shinobi were allied to a major village. This is an opportunity to gain a powerful ally and her troop of minions. Don't waste it on morals, Shinobi aren't meant to be heroes but warriors, Shinobi don't have honor or morals and neither will you" The Jinchuuriki was about to retort that his whole goal of being a huntsman was to be the hero he desired but it seems that the life of a ninja was a lot bleeker and dark than he expected.

The woman kept going with her words "-but it's refreshing to see a boy trying to claw for more of the rewards…I like you, very well, there isn't much else I can give you other than giving you myself-" Jaune blushed heavily at that prompting the woman to laugh at him "Haha! I like that! But it's obvious you were thinking down the dirty way, no no, if you really wanted to bed me then you'd have to defeat in battle to be worthy of a good lay. Though really, you'd be getting personal assistance from myself if you agree to this deal. Hm? Doesn't that sound enticing? A partnership from a premier huntress like myself?" The bird shifter said with a slight grin hoping she'd really didn't need to go to the sex part to solidify her alligence with the kid to ensure her tribes survival.

"That's as good as we are going to get Jaune-Child, backing from a relatively strong tribe with the same background as shinobis but the personalized assistance from a huntress. In return, you'd be giving your support to ensure her tribe's survival. Take the deal, though personally I would push further to take command but that would result in a 1v1 that you're VASTLY unprepared for so again, as good as it's gonna get" The sand colored monster gave its input.

Jaune nodded at her deal "I guess we have a deal, I've learned early on that it's best to make allies as early as possible to get ahead in life"

"A good thing to learn kiddo, seems that you have my tribe's support. Do not forget that you'll be called on to support my tribe to ensure theirs and my survival" the woman said, getting up from the fountain she's been sitting on to pop a joint in her spine as they were talking for a good half hour.

Jaune looked down at the leaf he was holding and promptly forgot about it, he remembered doing what the woman said which left half of the green leaf disappeared and the other half soaking with water 'Huh, I forgot that I pushed my chakra into the leaf…does this mean I'm ready to start learning Elemental Ninjutsu Juubi?'

"Hm? Yes, however with the extreme time crunch we have, I can only teach you two element jutsus of C-Rank, not as good as you think but any Jutsu can be strong if given an intelligent mind. However, give me some time to think of the techniques I'll be teaching you" and like that the one eyed demon went silent so Jaune looked at Raven who turned towards him with a paper reaching out to him "My scroll number, we will be in contact with each other. Call if you desire anything or if I need you to do something for me" She said which prompted the blonde man to reach out to grab it from her.

Raven then morphs into a black feathered raven which flaps away above the trees then the city itself, leaving Jaune to stare at her flapping form '…Awesome' though his thoughts don't remain on the woman when Juubi spoke up.

"The First Technique is an Earth Technique called Earth Spike, the Hand Seals to mold this Jutsu is 'Hare - Horse - Ram - Rat - Bird' when utilizing this technique, you can form a spear of earthy rock to send to your enemy.

"The Second Technique is a Water Technique called Water Spike, the Hand Seals to mold this Jutsu is 'Ram - Rat - Boar - Horse' when utilizing this technique, you can form a spear of water however you need to be near a source of water to utilize this technique effectively.

"However it's best you try Elemental Manipulation Exercises before you begin training to utilize these techniques" Juubi gave Jaune the inner workings of the technique, though the blonde kid already knew about the need of elemental manipulation to better utilize the ninjutsu techniques but having completed the main base, he can begin learning new techniques.

Hours had passed when the blonde used the park, mostly at night, to train with the two techniques he was told of.

An earth spike shot up from the ground which impaled and pierced its wooden bark, though moments later the spike disintegrated in powder.

Jaune panted as his hands had remained in the Earth Spike Jutsus final seal, the Bird Seal, then collapsed onto his knees with his hands dropping to the side.

The blonde ninja was increasingly taxed from the constant use of an elemental technique in an attempt to utilize it in combat situations "This…hah….is…hah…ridiculous…" Jaune panted out as he looked down to see both his hands shaking from the chakra usage and several points into the night had accidentally driven both his hands into each other while weaving through hand signs which hurts since he could only weave the seals from slow to slight moderate speed to properly weave the signs.

"There is truth in that, many Shinobi when learning ninjutsu of any caliber has already begun training to weave the 12 Hand Seals till they could utilize those seals in hyper rapid fashion like muscle memory, it seemed to have slipped my mind but you must hasten your weaving because no enemy is going to allow you time to dish out ninjutsu, not enemy Shinobi nor will Grimm"

Jaune kept panting while watching the stone spire fully disintegrate into powder then began to weave the signs but slammed together causing him to wince at the incoming pain, the pain was beginning to accumulate as earth was much harder to manipulate since it requires a constant shift in shape while water was easier since it has no shape of its own making it easier to keep its shape when performing techniques.

"Jaune-Jaune?" A female voice broke the blonde man out of his thoughts, and pain, prompting him to turn to see Nora, in her usual white blouse and pink skirt, her usual hyperactive look wasn't present but instead had a worried look especially since his current self, sweating profusely which drenched the basic grey t shirt that Ren was kind enough to loan.

Jaune started to care more for the ginger girl as seeing her not being as hyperactive was concerning to him since that is what made Nora…Nora "Hey Nora, did something happen?"

She looked at him then at the tree with a massive hole though frowning lightly "It's almost time for bed Jaune-Jaune, I got worried since you're hardly ever in the room so I thought you were getting tired of me or Renny" She frowned even more of that notion.

Jaune gulped as he was rushed over to the energetic ginger girl which she got surprised at the sudden burst of speed, she knew Jaune had different powers then most of the age yet every time the hammer wielder would secretly watch Jaune train yet he seemed distant in his facial looks as if he was talking to himself or a version of himself.

"Of course not! Both you and Ren are the best thing that could happen since I arrived in vale, if it weren't for either of you then the progress I made wouldn't have existed. I apologize that I've been distant but what happened with the dust raid made me realize that my power itself doesn't have much offense abilities, that's why I've been away, to try and forge such abilities" Jaune said as he was fully prepared to let out his guts to keep his friendship with two genuine people.

Nora seemed to nod at his explanation but has adopted a serious look "Then tell me Jaune-Jaune, I could've helped you with those options, I can teach you to wield a mini hammer…*GASP!* Oh I can teach you to wield a mini hammer! You'd be my disciple!" She started prattling off about the aspects of him wielding a small hammer with it doubled as a rocket launcher, having forgotten moments ago that she was worried and upset with him.

"I should remind you that you already have a teacher, and I don't particularly like sharing students with others," Juubi said with a slight joking tone.

Jaune seemed to have made up his mind 'I'm going to tell her'

The ten tailed beast gave a 'hm' as a response only to speak up again "Wait…Tell her 'What' exactly?"

'You already know'

"Child, need I remind you just how foolish that would be? Do you realize the ramifications if you start divulging information about me?"

Jaune seemed to frown but had enough willpower to keep it small so the orange haired girl kept bobbing around discussing possible false plans on her tutelage 'Because that's how much I trust her, ever since knowing her, Nora and Ren have supported me regardless of what I was doing throughout the week, though I was surprised after that whole shadow clone brawl fiasco that they were ok with me training when they are around, but any case…I want her to know' The one eyed creature seemed to remain silent, thinking about this.

'Trust huh...He really is starting to sound like Hagoromo, he trusted humans to spread his teachings without realizing the aspect of Human Greed…I guess I need to be here to manage damage control' It spoke up within the blonde mans head "Very well, if that is what you so desire…but you must make sure she doesn't divulge about me to anyone else at least then we will have more time to get up to par. Because if knowledge about me leaks, I can and will guarantee that you WILL be sought after by both sides of the spectrum"

Jaune nodded at this then speaking up loudly interrupting whatever she was saying mindlessly "Nora…I have something to tell you but I need you to promise that you CAN'T tell anyone about it" Nora stopped then blinked suddenly at the request.

"Even Renny?-" she started to say only to flinch slightly as Jaune walked over to grab her shoulders with a strong grip.

"What I'm about to tell you is going to affect both of our lives" The jinchuuriki said though the wording caused the emerald eyed girl to blush deeply.

"You may want to change the wording of your sentence, your sounding as if your going to propose marriage"

'What!?' Jaune yelled inside his mind before shaking his head as to focus on the idea "Nora, what I'm going to say may seem completely crazy but promise me that you'll believe me" which the girl seemed to have nodded with a serious expression on her face.

"Ok thank you, Nora, my power isn't some lucky draw of a semblance which I would count my lucky stars! No, my power isn't natural or came from this planet's current era…Shit-" Jaune started to explain that the more he does, the more Nora looks even more confused than before.

'Uhhhhhh…Juubi? Do we have any way of making this easier on her because if I try to explain it more then I'm afraid I'll be invoking the spirit of Roman Barkov' The Jinchuuriki said within his mind to ask for an easier way to speak.

"Roman Barkov?" It said as it was obviously confused.

'Former general of Atlas, the man who originally proposed to mechanize the kingdoms army before he went mentally insane and started a genocide of local villages in fear of insurgencies'

"Humans are too easy to manipulate through fear, ok off track…what is it you want me to do about it?"

'Isn't there some way you can make this whole situation more bearable!?'

"*Sigh* I 'do' know of a specific technique that allows hagoromo to obtain a telepathic connection between him and another, I can repurpose this technique to allow Nora-Child to hear my voice whenever you are close together, that way, 'I' can explain your situation and you don't need to worry about making an ass out of yourself" It said which prompted Jaune to pull back from Nora who looked even more confused than physically possible.

"Just put both index and middle fingers on her left and right temple and inject some chakra into it, the chakra will be injected into her mind and therefore create a somewhat stable connection to hear me" now with the instructions clear, Jaune moved towards her again and putting both intended fingers onto her temples "Jaune-Jaune? What are you doing? You said you'd explain something yet all you've been doing was making funny faces, it's funny but I'm starting to worry that you're mentally unstable" Nora said which prompted the blonde man to snort at her claim of insanity.

Jaune began pushing his chakra into the red head's mind which she seemed to scrunch her face in pain "Jaune-Jaune? What are you doing? My head is starting to pound" she said while slowly placing her hands on top of his "Jaune?"

The man looked in full concentration as he kept injecting a steady stream of chakra then pulling back from the hammer wielder "Did it work?" He said out loud prompting the over energetic girl to groan lightly "Jaune-Jaune!~ why did you hurt me like tha-" she started to whine and complain to him only for both her and the Jinchuuriki to go silent when a third voice spoke in their heads.

"That was my request Child, he became worried for you and trusted you with the information pertaining to me" a sudden voice called out prompting the ginger girl to swerve her head around trying to find the source of the voice "Who said that!? Jaune-Jaune! Did you hear that!?"

"I did, it's…from me" he said while Nora looked at him curiously only to flinch suddenly when the voice spoke again "Quite honestly, I wasn't expecting the technique to work. Hagoromo only used it to create a telepathic link between himself and another."

"You're an asshole, you know that?" Jaune spoke out instead of saying that internally which meant he had enough faith that he could be his true self without having to hide anything from his first friend.

"I believe it's my job as your mentor and ally, to keep you grounded in reality and to show any technique can backfire at any time. Let's count ourselves lucky that you haven't stabbed yourself with the earth spear"

Nora decided to speak up as she didn't understand what was happening nor how the voice and Jaune sounded like they were best buddies "Uh…Jaune-Jaune?" This catches the blonde man's ear who grits his teeth slightly muttering "Shit, forgot about her." He then speaks up "Uhhh, Nora…meet Juubi…you can say… that Juubi is the source of my power"

"Hi?" She said as she was unsure what 'Juubi' was or why it was the source of power that Jaune seemed to have "Greetings Child, I am Juubi, the one eyed chakra god, the ten tailed....*Sigh* hermit crab…why do you make me say that and not remnants of the divine tree…Anyway"

"So…you're the truth behind Jaune-Jaunes power...That…Is…AWESOME!! Just how powerful are you!? Are you more powerful than pancake gods!?" Nora shouted with such enthusiasm that it could've caused an emotional whiplash to the blonde jinchuuriki.

Juubi remained silent for the moment as the number of questions kept rolling out though some got the girl so excitable that she jerked the blonde man forward and backward in excitement "I..uh..Yes? I am the original source of all chakra, these…Gods? Well they are mere poultry to my power. Now then, I must request that you keep the information regarding me a secret, it may very well be costly if you attempt to tell anyone"

The young woman stopped her questions and stepped back a bit as her energetic self stopped, the very sight looked foreign to the blonde yet it showed just how serious the whole situation "Even Renny? He wouldn't tell anyone"

"I mean anyone child, until I've gotten Jaune-Child up to par to which I won't have to worry about looking over his shoulder. If word gets out about me, He's GOING to be swarmed by greed" The one eyed hermit said which Nora looked at the sky, her way of trying to communicate with Juubi as if it was some higher power which wasn't entirely untrue, Juubi always claimed to be divinity blessed.

Nora looks down onto Jaune who flinched at the sudden seriousness though perhaps the sudden grab and pull into her chest, the blonde jinchuuriki blushed at the sensation with a male appreciating smile "I'll do it, if it's to protect Jaune then I won't tell anyone Mr.Pancake God but Jaune-Jaune, promise you'll tell Renny when you become stronger…I hate for him to be let out especially since I trust him with my life" she said then pleaded for her childhood friend.

'Would that be ok? Ren I can definitely trust him with your secret, believe it or not but he is trustworthy' Jaune thought as he felt his head being pressed deeper and a smile grew even more.

"….Very well, Only! When Jaune can is stronger, in terms of chunin at least"

"YAAAAAAAAY!!"

'Sweet heavens, her chest feels like a marshmallow!'
