Chen Dong
This author has a really bad habit of telling but not showing.whenever a new big bad enemy shows up the author will go into a huge spiel about how powerful and scary this new enemy is without actually showing why they should be feared(with the exception of the Ash Wolf) as for thenstory itself if you like a ruthless protagonist and idiotic side characters that do nothing except seek death to show off how badass mr.main character is then you'll love this. The cultivation technique is unique and refreshing however I honestly feel that this story is rather low substance aiming for instant gratifcation rather than building up a world our "hero" kills his way through any plothook thrown in his way with little consequence other than more enemies lining up to increase his body count.
Oh, im stucked. I just cant find any other stories with a good translation and best actions. I highly appreciate it if you can refer me some good stories like TSR. Thank you. Im so excited to how the stories is going to be unfolded, im very satisfied with this stories, i just hope it will continue as it is with a constant chapter release.
I'm in sync with the Chinese raws (900+ chapters). As stated in my previous review Sacred Ruins is my favorite novel of all time. It's also the most popular novel in China! The popularity it enjoy in China isn't unfounded. It has the most shameless protagonist I have seen in Chinese novels with MC taking the most unique job profession out there: Kidnapping and slave trading! (Not evil as he only kidnap and sell his enemies). He would even livestream his fights where he thrash young masters for a small fee. Everyone (in the novel and real-world alike) wants to see arrogant young masters thrashed so MC become rich by livestream! The reactions scenes are excellent! It has the greatest twist I have seen for Father-Son relationship! I won't spoil it but believe me the twist would make you laugh for hours when you read the adventures of Father-Son. The world building. Oh man...Perhaps I'm exaggerating as its my favorite novel but Sacred Ruins has the best world building out there. The universe makes sense. I can't speak it in details as it might spoil. Even though I call this novel as my favorite I won't deny that it has flaws. The romance isn't that good. It's above average but likable due to comedy. The other major flaw is that author kind of ignore many of the things he introduced on Earth for the sake of exploring other worlds. I would definitely recommend this novel. Not because it's my favorite novel but because the novel is good. It has comedy, action, face smacking and in-between some heartwarming scenes.
The reviews were just bullshxting others. At first I was doubtful too, but I still want to try reading this and guess what I just found a gem! I read lots of novels. And every novels I read got me hate author for being cruel to MC or I just stopped cause I can’t stand the development but this got me rage then laugh and laugh and laugh like literally this is so good. The funny moments were so epic and black yak human form is a total legendary 🤣🤣🤣 I bowed down to you black yak 🤭🤣🤣🤣
This is one of the best novel on this site! It has the holy trinity that transcends the previous ratings cues above: (1) a MC that you can empathize with; (2) a balance of humor and serious tones; and, (3) moments where the MC is single-minded in handling his enemies. There is simply nothing else to desire, in this genre, after aggregating those before-mentioned 8 criterion! It appears that the low ratings are the result of historical issues; this is a new day, a new translator, and each week new chapters are added. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a fun read!
It's good. If you like evolution, doomsday, fantasy, mythology and martial arts then this is for you. It got a good humor to it. Sometimes the story is a bit repeative but it's normal because it's a Chinese Webnovels are like these. The translation has been edited so there's almost no issue with the quality.
Once I got past the first 15-20 chapters I instantly got hooked. The interactions between Chu Feng and Yellow Ox is some of the funniest content I've read in any novels. The fighting scenes are also fairly descriptive and it is easy to get drawn into the story. I'm also excited for this novel as the cultivation method that Chu Feng uses to increase his strength is something that I haven't seen anywhere else. My favorite novel on this site as of right now.
The Sacred Ruins is literally the Best Funny novel. Is a story set in a post-apocalyptic world. A world that has recovered to a state that is roughly equal to our own world in terms of technology and culture, although its ancient history remains largely unknown. The story begins during the post-graduation trip of our protagonist, where he discovers some ancient ruins and witnesses “the great change”, an upheaval that changed everything. The changing earth not only brought about new, unexplored landscape but also sparked the evolution of all organisms. Plants and animals started gaining sentience and some humans obtained unimaginable powers. The legends, myths, and tales of old seemed to have suddenly come to life as the earth entered a new era where beasts and men formed factions, explored new lands and ultimately struggled for supremacy.
Amazing history.. for real.. the progress is amazing and you can identify with the MC and understand all the other characters that are well explained and developed.. The MC doesnt have any cheat, he suffer and go through a lot of hardships to get his powers and kill his enemies and protect his familiy.
Story is pretty good. It a modern world "cultivation apocalypse" style novel where suddenly beasts gain sentience and start to cultivate and hidden legends come out of hiding, etc. Luckily it's mostly on the cultivation side rather than the apocalypse side, so after a few cities get destroyed and such, everything settles down. What makes this really good though is the comedy. You have your typical young master faceslapping and powerups for any cultivation novel. But the way the MC trolls people is just too good.
