A New Face or The Main Character?

"There's nothing we can do;"

Ryder shrugged and began walking towards the dungeon's exit with an indifferent expression.

"Let's just go back home, I'm starving… I need something to eat;"

"And stop worrying about these minor issues, it's might seem like it is a big deal right now but it won't really affect our life;"

Bell did not know whether to laugh or cry at this, what Ryder said was a minor issue, is a thing that made all the high level adventurers gather.

And soon enough even the Guild might get involved

This was not a minor issue!

Fortunately that man, who was the first to faint when he was being chased by kobolds, did not recognise them or it might have made them the centre of attention in this whole situation.

Bell sighed with exasperation but in the end decided to trust Ryder.

With his power, he can handle anything as long as the soul of the world does not 

involve itself.

"Goddess, we're back!"

Bell called out in an excited tone after returning back from the dungeon but soon she noticed that she was not there.

"What's that?"

Ryder asked, pointing towards a paper with something written on it kept on the table.

"?"

Bell went and picked that paper and read it.

"What is it?"

Ryder asked from the side after he saw that Bell did not say anything after reading the paper.

"Oh… It's a note from goddess, it says that she will gone for a few days because of some important work;"

Bell replied in a startled manner and looked.back at him with a face that looked a little disappointed at first glance but Ryder did not know why there seemed to be a glint of happiness in her eyes that she was trying to hide.

Actually if he was being honest Ryder had an idea about the reason but it was way too much for his innocent little heart to handle and he did not want to even think about it.

"Since Hestia-sama isn't here, how about we go out and eat?"

"I'm quite tired and I don't really want to cook right now;"

Bell asked a while later with an expectant look.

"No need… I can cook for both of us;"

Was the reply that Ryder gave while avoiding eye contact with Bell which made her pout.

"But I want to eat outside… there's a pub that makes really good food, you'll love it, trust me!"

Bell persisted and asked one again a smile and expression that Ryder would have seen as cute if it was any other time, but unfortunately right now she looked like a succubus to him.

A deflated laughter came out of Ryder's mouth while Bell who was next to him had an exact opposite expression.

She was super excited.

The reason for it was because under Bell's persistent requests, Ryder eventually gave in and agreed to go out and eat with her.

And right now they were on the way to go to the pub Bell was talking about when suddenly someone called out to them.

"Excuse me! Because I saw you both coming out from there, I wanted to ask you…"

"Are you two from Hestia familia by any chance?"

The person who this was a person who looked to be in his late teenage years and had a face that can only be described as handsome.

"Yeah we are… Do you need something from us?".

Bell questioned.

To this the man nodded his head and introduced himself.

"I"m Jack and I recently came to this city wishing to become adventurer and wanted to join Goddess Hestia"s familia;"

The man with the name Mike answered with a smile on face.

"Really?!"

Bell exclaimed with joy. It was a happy news; after all except Bell herself there were no other people in Hestia"s familia so even one more person who wanted to join their familia was godsend.

But unfortunately it was just that…

"Goddess is not home right now and will come back after a few days;"

Bell said with a depressed tone and asked a moment later with a hopeful expression.

"Can you maybe… wait till then?"

"I.. I can't I'm sorry:"

The man answered and walked away after saying his goodbyes and apologising a few more times.

"He was a suspicious guy."

Ryder commented after they themselves got far from the man.

At first Bell did not understand what Ryder was getting at by saying this but what he said next made everything clear.

"I smell a main character from him;"

"There's a high chance that he is the new main character this world's soul chose as your replacement."

Ryder looked back in the direction that man-Mike went.

"Oh! Did you notice anything while I was talking to him?"

Bell questioned looking back at him.

Ryder shook his head.

"Did you not see his face?"

"Only main characters have a face that beautiful;"

Ryder's face while saying this was like an enlightened person imparting his whole life's knowledge.

".....Okay.."

Was the only way Bell could respond. That's how absurd and senseless the thing said by Ryder was.

Looking at this expression of Bell that was caught between confusion and stupefaction, Ryder could not control himself and laughed out loud.

"hahahaha!"

"Look at you face, you took that seriously?"

"I was just kidding!"

Even after Ryder said this, Bell could not think straight for a while and only then did Ryder reveal the reason behind his guess.

"It's partly my intuition and partly solid reasoning;"

Far away from both Ryder and Bell, the person who they were talking about was gazing up at the sky.

He talked to himself and looked around himself.

He exclaimed in amazement.
