Elys reclined at her chair and stared at the wall as her mind wandered. No one was allowed to beat her in this upcoming war they were about to get themselves into.

"My queen," Aleksander called out to her softly.

She gave him a side glance, her entire body and head unmoving. Her sinister red eyes met with Aleksander's awed silvers, and the two shared a brief moment of recognition.

This was what made Aleksander fall head over heels in love with Elys. She was ruthless when she must be, kind when it was needed, and wise at the most crucial times. Without her, Aleksander swore he wouldn't even last a day.
