21 The Civil Scholars' Parade

This expedition trials finally ended smoothly, and all relevant personnel including emperor Ming breathed a sigh of relief.

After the trials, Emperor Ming personally approved the top three in this division.

The number one scholar Li Wenzheng, the son of Suzhou's richest man Li Jiuhua.

The second-placed Cheng Siqian, the son of Cheng Xiu, the official minister of Works.

The third was Yang Huang, the son of Yang Han, the head of the famous Yang family, the famous merchants of Dasheng.

All three had studied at Bishan Academy.

On this day, the beautiful sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly, and the most lively Zhuque Street in Cheojing was crowded with people, leaving the alleys empty. All these just because Dasheng's new top three scholars were going to ride horses here. They were the future of Dasheng's civil world.

In the elegant seat by the window on the second floor of a restaurant, three young people in different dresses were drinking tea.

The young man in white clothes and a half white jade mask on his face was Yang Yiting dressed in men's clothing. Next to her sat a scarlet robed Xie Ming Yu. Rounding up the number was Feng Ze who was wearing a dark blue robe. The three of them drank light tea and looked at the parade group slowly approaching under the window.

In the Dasheng Dynasty, there were very few unmarried women who went out with young men in the public, so Yang Yiting decided to show up in men's clothing.

Three tall horses, each with three men in red robes sitting on top of them, surrounded by a group of imperial armours in armor, rode triumphantly in the spring breeze. These young men were quite handsome.

As they rode pass the crowd, they were looking back and forth on both sides of the street, bowing their hands to passers-by.

"Brother Ming Yu, what do you think of these top three?" Feng Ze looked at Xie Ming Yu and asked in a serious tone.

Xie Ming Yu took a sip of tea, and said without any haste. "As a graduating student, Yang Huang is still the most qualified among the three."

It was only one of the considerations in any civil trials. But for the ruler of the dynasty, he had to consider too many factors, and the most important one was balance. The distribution of the top three rankings involves the checks and balances of multiple factors. Only when the aspects of the country was well balanced could the country go forward steadily.

As a straight-forward military commander, Feng Ze had never been interested in civil matters. He simply looked down on those who were unscrupulous for fame and fortune. Feeling like he was asking a boring question, he turned to Yang Yiting and asked. "Brother Mo, what are you up to recently? I went to Qin Yuzuo several times to find out your whereabouts, but no one told me anything."

Facing Mo Xin, Feng Ze's tone softened unconsciously, and Xie Ming Yu glanced at him with a little surprise.

Yang Yiting gave a dry smile and replied. "I understand. I had to go and visit Master Qin for a while. You know, I didn't see master for a long time, so I was worried."

She couldn't say that these days, she had been discussing life philosophy and career planning with a certain handsome man in the Yang Mansion every day, and she could only find an excuse.

"Brother Mo, your ability in autopsy is so exceptional. it's really admirable." Feng Ze sighed sincerely.

The Justice Department of the dignified Dasheng Dynasty did not have a standby coroner, which would be embarrassing if it became public.

From Feng Ze's point of view, anyone with any type of skill was worthy of respect. It was a pity that the post of a coroner had never been taken seriously, resulting in very few outstanding talents. It was really rare for a person like Mo Xin with such a temperament to be willing to learn autopsy techniques and have such attainments for it.

After Yang Yiting talked with Xie Ming Yu during this period, he also had a preliminary idea.

In fact, Xie Ming Yu had a third thing to do in Cheojing this time, and that was to open the Cheojing branch of Bishan Academy here. According to Xie Ming Yu's idea, although Bishan Academy had a long history and a great reputation, it lacked innovation.

Therefore, he wanted to open a branch in Cheojing according to his own ideas, and do some changes in terms of enrollment, disciplines, and education methods.

Before coming to the capital city, he had a long talk with his father, Xie Yue, and fully consulted his grandfather, Xie Rong. After getting the consent of the two elders, he took this opportunity to come to the capital for an on-site inspection.

Yang Yiting thought, given that Dasheng lack workers in the forensics area, maybe she could use this opportunity to open a course in forensic medicine or anatomy at Bishan College, and arouse the world's attention to this profession.

Of course, this was just an unformed idea in Yang Yiting's heart. She knew that there would be a long way to go if this plan was to be implemented.

The three of them were chatting and drinking tea when they suddenly heard a few screams, coming from the outside.

What happened? The three of them looked at each other, got up and leaned against the window to have a look of what really happened.
