CHAPTER 25 (BOOK 2)

"How was your flight?" Jeremy asked as his grandfather and sister entered the lobby of the consulate.

Jeremy arrived earlier via different flight since there are things he wanted to prepare before his grandfather and sister arrive and at the same time, he wanted to be out of the publics eye as much as possible especially those of the media and paparazzi who were patiently at the arrival of their plane.

"It was exhausting." The King turned his attention to the person beside Jeremy. "It's nice to see you again Spes."

"It's great to see you again, your Highness." Spes responded.

Spes has remained at the Consulate upon the recommendation of the Prince, knowing that he had built a good relationship with the new President. It was also because, he came to love the country and the people. The traditions that he upholds which were started by Jeremy's father are close to his heart.

"I just called Kate and ask her to host a dinner at their restaurant." Grabriella interrupted as she made use of her grandfather as a shield from her brother.

"What!" Jeremy was furious. "What did you do this time!"

"Calm your self." The King tapped Jeremy on his shoulder.

"How can I be calm if she acted childish again!"

"I didn't act rashly now. I told grandpa about it." Gabriella defended.

"Yes! She asked permission from me and I gave my consent."

"Grandpa…"

"Besides… A King should break his promise. I once promise Kate that given a chance I would love to dine at her restaurant."

"But that was before…"

The King didn't let Jeremy finished his words. "It's okay your not oblige to join us."

"Fine! Fine!" Jeremy gave in since it was already decided. "I have to do then."

"Where are you going this late?" The King inquired.

"I'll be staying in my unit." He glance at Spes. "They have already prepared your rooms here."

"Aren't you staying here?" The King asked.

"Grandpa… Let him be. I think he has to do some stuff." She smiled at her brother.

"I need to see my unit. But don't worry. Mr. Spes and Tobby will be staying with you. Besides, I will be here early tomorrow."

Tobby pointed at himself as if shocked that Jeremy instructed him to stay with them.

"Okay then." The King consented. "You should bring some men with you then going to your place."

"Nah… I can manage."

"At the very least bring a driver."

Tobby raised his hand, "If I may, I volunteer myself."

"Fine! I bring Tobby with me then."

The King nodded.

"It's late. Have some rest then."

On their way to Jeremy's unit, Tobby asked, "Where are we going? If I remember correctly? I have already sold your unit." He devilishly smiled.

"I have bought a new one just last year."

"What? Why didn't know about that?"

Jeremy You'll my didn't respond.

"So where is this new unit?" Tobby inquired.

"You'll see!"

Jeremy stopped the car in front of the restaurant. Tobby, upon recognition of the façade of the place, asked, "Why are we here?"

"I know you wanted to be with her. So get out of here." Jeremy gave Tobby a piece of paper. "This is the address of the new unit. They know the place when you get their. The password is 0712."

"Wait! You're telling me that you're leaving me here?"

"Yes... The girls are having dinner tonight."

"How do you know that?"

Instead of answering Tobby's question, Jeremy insisted that he should get off the car.

Jeremy watched Tobby entered the restaurant and then left. He didn't bother to stay longer as not to disturb them.

Abby rushed towards the door as soon as she realized that it was Tobby. Kate, Grace and May were in awe upon seeing him.

"Why are you here?" Abby asked.

"Well... sorry for not giving a heads up." Tobby replied.

"It's great to see you again. Are you alone?" Abby inquired while looking outside if he's with another.

"I supposed so."

"Hey there. Why don't you join us at the table." Grace instructed the two.

"Great to see you again, Tobby right?" May smiled at him.

"I supposed so."

"Isn't Jeremy with you?" Grace curiously asked as all eyes were on Kate's reaction upon hearing the name of Jeremy.

"Well. he was but he didn't enter."

"Is he still outside?" May stood up and tried to peak on the glass wall.

"Nah! He just dropped me off."

Disappointed, the ladies sighed.

"By the way, how did you know that we're here? I know I didn't tell you." Abby tried to remember.

"Actually it was the Prince who told me. He said you were having dinner here."

The ladies quickly glanced at Kate as they wait for her response.

"Don't look at me like that. I haven't talk to him remember?" Kate suddenly remembered. "Oh..."

"What's wrong?" May asked.

"Gabby asked me awhile ago when were talking about the dinner reservation."

"Maybe she told him about it." Abby added.

"Well... the princess told the prince about the dinner reservation nothing more."

"Enough about that." Grace said as she turned to Tobby. "What do you want to it?"

"I'm actually starving. What's the specialty here?"

The ladies giggled. As Grace asked the chef to cook for Tobby, he recalled what Jeremy told him. "By the way..." He showed them a piece of paper which was given Jeremy. "He told me that you know this place?"

Abby, who was the nearest to Tobby took a peak on the piece of paper. "Oh... Of course we know this place. It's the name of the place we're staying." She grabbed the paper and pass it to the other ladies.

"This is the only unit adjacent to ours." May added. "Now that I think about it. I haven't seen anyone coming in and out of that unit."

The other ladies agreed.

"Why do you ask about this place?" Abby asked.

Tobby was hesitant to answer. He don't know if he should be telling them that it's were they will be staying.

Upon seeing that Tobby was hesitant to answer, "It's were they will be staying." Kate remarked.

"How did you know?" Tobby shockingly asked.

"Well, he and I originally planned to buy that unit before upon knowing that we will be having the other one. But... you know what happened."

"How come you didn't tell us about it?" Grace asked.

"I didn't know that he would push through with it."

Abby turned her attention to Tobby. "So... is he there now?"

"I'm not sure. He didn't tell me where he's going." Tobby replied.

"He's not there." Kate answered.

"How do you know?"

Kate stood up. "I need to go. He's going to wait for me there as we promised." She rushly when out before anyone could say something.

Grace stopped May, "Let her be."

"But..."

"You know Kate. Once she made up her mind, no one can change it." Grace explained.

"And you know that we can trust him." Abby added.

Tobby simply nodded as he sipped a glass of water.
