Why Me?

With his chin on his palm, Blaise stared out at the vast water as the bounced over the sea on their motorboat. Even though Jeannie had not killed him yesterday, she had succeeded in bringing him away into the middle of the sea. If he were to consider his aunt's words then she might just throw him into the sea here. And he could feel the goosebumps rising on his skin as he thought of the way he had struggled to stay afloat last time. And then Papa had been able to save him because he had been near the shore. But now they were in the middle...

At least she had given him a life jacket so maybe she did not plan on joining him. 

While he was lost in thinking of ways in which he could be killed by his steomother, Jeannie excitedly caught his wrist and hugged him sidewise as she spoke,"Look there Blaise! Those fishes are so small! We have to feed them!"
