A Stepson

As Christopher hurriedly picked the boy and ran inside, Jeannie followed with a thoughtful frown. If she had heard correctly, the little boy had called her husband, 'papa'. This meant that she had a step son. She felt a bit weird at the thought and had many more questions to ask but could only follow the father son duo at the back. After all, she could not ask the questions when the boy was in this pitiable state, could she?

She quickly hurried to the small closet where she had seen the towels last night and grabbed a few. Rushing forward, she helped Christopher by gently rubbing away the sand sticking to the little boy who was not sitting obediently. But just as the man started to unbutton his clothes, the little boy scowled and stubbornly shook his head.
