3 A Gift Date

Jeannie refused to look at the Prince who was currently seething on the big platform and encouraged the ladies to bid. The outburst that this announcement had created had made Jeannie extremely happy and all those hands shooting up in the air," Mama mia!" Heck with two such stars, she would be able to help more than a hundred women get settled in different states, away from their exes and aggravators! She was willing to even rub her nose in front of that man for this let along go down on her knees.

But as luck would have it, the bidding stopped just five hundred dollars short of the bid for Delaney Cooper. Casting a triumphant smile his way, she then announced, "Thank you for your participation everyone. All those who had won the bids can now come backstage to discuss the time and venue for your dates so that our journalists who are going to be covering the stories can follow you. Out handsome bachelors are there waiting to meet you. Also, a special round of applause for the Prince Christopher Sebastian Lucille Spark who has promised out organization with an additional donation!"

Maintaining his composure was a feat that he rarely had to accomplish ever since he took his place as the ambassador of Othon. However this woman had tested his patience and tolerance all within a couple of hours.

Bowing with a quick smile to hide his seething anger the Prince walked off the stage straight towards the culprit of this. His assistant who had failed to bid on him.

The assistant cowered as he saw his boss approaching and before the Prince could say anything, he stammered," The Queen's orders, Sir. She threatened to exile my family if I bid on you."

Christopher glared at his assistant but inside he was shaking his head. Just what was his grandmother up to this time?

"You are not going to run away, are you?", a voice mocked from behind.

Christopher turned his head to look at the gloating female before snapping," Of course not. Since I have promised something, I am going to fulfill it. You will be receiving your cheque for our wager tomorrow."

Nodding, she smiled and continued," And about that date? The person who bid on you is waiting."

As Christopher followed the woman, his eyes unintentionally, noticed the sway of her hips. The woman was quite attractive as long as she kept her mouth shut of course.

Soon they reached the small anteroom and when he noticed the bidder, Christopher almost doubled over in relief. The person was an old woman, almost of his grandma's age! Smiling, he greeted the woman and was about to invite her for an Opera show to be watched from the Queen's box in London, when the woman said," I am not the actual benefactor. The benefactor is anonymous and has requested that I give this date to someone worthy."

Flummoxed, Christopher contained his annoyance at being treated like a commodity again he encouraged the woman," It is very rare that one sees anonymous benefactors these days. Do you have some one in mind?"

The woman nodded and pointed at someone behind him," Her. She has worked so hard to help those women. So, I have decided to gift her the date. Anyone who works so hard deserves to be treated like a princess!"

Turning his head to see who was the 'lucky' girl, though he had a premonition, he met her eyes disdainfully. What a hoax.

As her brown eyes met his glittering blue ones, she could see that he thought that it was a scam. Straightening up, almost wishing that she had worn even longer heels, she opened her mouth to protest, when the journalists jumped up at this coup.

"What a wonderful way to give back to charity!"

"Vice President Boon, this is going to be our headlines! Can you please pose for us? Good deeds never go unpunished. You have worked so selflessly for these women and now someone has decided to reward you! What are your thoughts on this?"

When Jeannie stood there flummoxed, they then turned to the Prince and asked even more excitedly," Your Highness? What are your plans for the date? Are you going to take your date to an exclusive dinner or somewhere special."

Christopher narrowed his eyes at the woman. Very Well. Since the woman wanted to play dirty, he would not hold back and teach her a lesson.

With a charming smile that had been termed as a lady killer he looked into the cameras and announced," Of course the best place to date is on Othon. As you all know that Othon has the scenic beauty to charm the romantic and beaches for the hearts of the adventurous, I am going to invite Miss Boon to Othon. As for the day, my liasion will let you all know soon."

With a firm glare directed at the scheming woman, Prince Christopher Sebastian Lucille Spark marched out of the small room followed by his entourage.

He was seething still, planning on a way to teach the woman a lesson when his phone dinged with an incoming message," How did you like my surprise? Jeannie Boon is going to be your future wife. So treat her to a date. You understand, my llittle grandson?"

Christopher stared at the phone angrily. It was his grandmother who was playing games? Had she gone senile in her retirement? This time, he did not control his anger and the phone was thrown angrily to the ground where it smashed into tiny little pieces!

He had no intention of marrying anyone! And most certainly not a firecracker like Jeannie Boon, delicious though she may look!
