14 The Promised Spar

POV Fugaku

The Danzo in front of me looked intrigued when I asked for a deal. However, knowing that I can win in this deal, I merely gave Danzo a grin as my response. Seeing my grin, Danzo spoke, "And what would that deal be?"

"A spar," I said.

Danzo looked intrigued, smiling and saying, "Continue."

'I got him,' I thought. Danzo is underestimating Shisui and is deceiving his way out of making Shisui the Hokage, then I can simply make them spar. I do not believe that Shisui, the grandson of Kagami Uchiha, will lose to an Uchiha boy that is at the bottom of his class.

"I propose that Shisui and this Obito have a spar. If Shisui wins, you are to make him the Hokage, and if Obito wins, we will give you Shisui and support Minato as the next Hokage."

Danzo smiled at me, which made me flinch because I don't know if he is faking his arrogance or if this Obito is truly that strong.

Danzo agreed and said, "I decline. I will only accept on my terms and conditions."

All the elders and myself frowned. 'Will he make things difficult for us?' I thought.

One of the elders could not remain silent and quickly asked, "And what are those conditions?"

"The spar will take place 2 weeks from now, and the spar will be a private match, with only the Uchiha Elders, the patriarch of the Uchiha, and me. Secondly, if Shisui wins, I will personally train him and make him the Hokage. Furthermore, I will fully support the Uchiha in anything they do in the village. On the other hand, if Obito Uchiha wins, then Shisui will be given to me alongside the full support of the Uchiha clan in everything I do."

As I thought about the deal, I couldn't stop thinking that something might be wrong, as the deal is way too good to be true. There is no way that Shisui will lose to a random Uchiha that Danzo picked up from the street. Furthermore, we could give Shisui the best training the Uchiha clan can offer and provide him high-level ninjutsu that he can learn. Even with all of that, I am still having this feeling that the deal is a trap. However, before I could even respond to Danzo, all the elders seemed to be too joyous and yelled, "Deal!

Danzo POV

Ha, these idiots really think that Shisui can beat Obito. Although Shisui is a genius, he is currently way out of Obito's league, especially when Obito comes out of the dream world. Even if they did train Shisui to the bones in the next 2 weeks, it wouldn't have any effect as 1 day in the real world is 1 year in the dream world.

I looked at Fugaku, who was engrossed in his thinking. Fugaku looked at the elders, with the elders looking at him with approval. He merely sighed and said, "Alright, we accept. However, we will not follow any orders that will harm the village and our clan."

I simply sighed and said, "Fine."

Fugaku coughed and mentioned something, "About the elder position."

I smiled and answered him, "I will request a meeting with the clans, alongside with the Hokage and the village elders. However, to make an Uchiha an elder, then you must give up the monopoly of the police force and give Konoha manpower by giving us some of your Uchiha members that work for the police force. Finally, you will need to reform the arrogance within the clan."

"Preposterous! We cannot give up on the police force, patriarch," said one of the elders as he stood up, looking at Fugaku, trying to convince him.

Fugaku was about to speak when I interrupted him, "The police force is one of the main reasons you are hated, and it will be your downfall if you keep monopolizing it."

The same elder was about to yell again when Fugaku stopped him by raising his hand, "Can you elaborate?"

"To put it simply, civilians fear you. The Uchiha's arrogance knows no bounds and the civilians fear that you will use that power for your own advantage. That's not all, jealousy from smaller clans is inevitable, and even if they are small, they have power in numbers."

When I finished talking, the same elder that yelled sat back down in deep thought. No matter how arrogant he might be, he will still put the clan first.

Fugaku opened his mouth and was about to speak but stopped. I turned around, walking towards the door and saying, "You will regret this, Fugaku, if you do not answer now."

As I opened the door, ready to step out, I was stopped by a voice, "Wait! I, the patriarch of the Uchiha clan, accept."

As the door closed behind me, I said, "Wise decision." When the door closed, I could hear the simultaneous sigh of relief made by the elders. As I walked outside of the Uchiha compound, I noticed that the sun was going down, and so I hurried to the Hokage building, jumping from house to house.

I arrived at the building a few minutes later and was met by the hidden gaze of 5 ninjas. I walked inside and arrived at the door of Hiruzen's office, and opened the door. I was met again with the smell of tobacco in the air. Hiruzen then noticed me and said, "Ah, you're back. How did it go?"

Ignoring the smoke, I smiled at Hiruzen and walked towards one of the sofas and sat down, "It went well, I got what I wanted."

"You..." said Hiruzen as he glared at me.

"Stop looking at me like that. I did not threaten anyone."

"How did you do it?"

"I told them I will make Fugaku an Elder of the village."

Hiruzen dropped the paper that he was holding and stood up, banging his palms on the table, "Danzo! You have gone too far!"

"I did it for the village! The village needs manpower, Hiruzen! And if I have to make a deal with the devil to make Konoha stronger, then I will!"

Hiruzen sat back down and glared at me, "Speak, what is your plan?"

"As I said before, we are in need of ninjas capable of doing tasks outside of the village. However, we don't have that manpower, especially with the Uchiha only working for the police force. And so I made a deal with the devil. They agree to give us ninjas from the police force, making them Shinobis that can take tasks like normal ninjas. Furthermore, they are willing to give up the monopoly of the Uchiha Police force; in return, we make Fugaku an elder."

Hiruzen huffed out smoke and said, "Are you sure about this?"

"Hmp. Are you not satisfied with getting the strongest clan to be loyal?"

Hiruzen huffed out another smoke and raised his hand, commanding a nearby Anbu to appear. "Inform the clan heads that there will be a meeting tomorrow," the Anbu disappeared in an instant.

I stood up from the sofa and said,

"Well then, I will be going."
