Danzo's POV

I walked inside the small ramen shop that looked newly built. As I entered, a sense of familiarity took over me, and I looked around, meeting the eyes of someone. He was a young man that had a full white robe and a white chef hat. After a few seconds, I finally recognized the man; it was Teuchi, the Sage of Six Bowls.

I stood dazed for a moment, then calmed down when I saw that he was giving me a confused face. I looked at the man eating and sat right next to him and said, 

"How have you been, Donji?"

He looked at me for a second then blinked a few times. He spat the food in his mouth and stood up, saying,

"D-Danzo-sama! I apologize, I did not see you!"

He quickly bowed while sweating. I merely chuckled and said, "Don't worry, sit down."

He sat back down slowly while scratching the back of his head. I smiled and looked towards the young man, "A bowl of ramen please."

He smiled and said, "Coming right up!"

As the Sage of Six Bowls finished making my ramen and presenting it to me, I began to eat while talking to Donji, "Donji, do you still remember when I said I will get you new arms?"

He paused and looked at me, "uhh, Yeah I remember it… Have you perhaps asked Lady Tsunade to help?"

It isn't a surprise that he thought it was Tsunade that would bring back his arms because she is the only one who can… That's publicly known at least. No one really knows in the village that Orochimaru is experimenting using live humans and the Hashirama cells. The only person that's close to finding out is his teacher, Hiruzen. However, even if Hiruzen knew of such experiments, he is far too soft to do anything in the early stages.

I smiled at him and responded, "After we finish, follow me."

He got stiff and had a serious look on his face. He nodded and started to dig in at the heavenly ramen.

Donji POV

As we walked towards a less populated part of Konoha, I began to wonder who the person that would heal my arm would be. I recently heard that Lady Tsunade left the village for unknown reasons and to who knows where.

Walking for a couple more minutes, we entered a forest. I looked around trying to find any building or house. As we entered deep into the forest, I could feel that something was weird about the forest. 

We spotted a small cave and entered it. It was a cave with stairs that went downwards, and the more we go down, the more I smell something familiar.

'Is that… Blood?'

The smell of blood got stronger and stronger as we head towards a double door at the end of the stairs. Danzo-sama opened the doors and we were met by a dark hall and the stench of fresh blood.

"Danzo-sama…"

Danzo started walking without looking back and said, "Don't worry too much, we're in Konoha."

I sighed and started walking with Danzo-sama. Torches began to light up as soon as we entered; the walls were different from the style we normally have in Konoha. They had wave-like patterns with many snake drawings.

"Snakes? Is this perhaps related to Orochimaru?"

As I asked the question, I suddenly heard a walking sound in front of us. I stopped and dashed in front of Danzo-sama, ready to protect him at all costs. However, the walking kept on and a man appeared, with his feet being revealed first by the light coming from the torch. The man was Orochimaru.

I calmed down and greeted Orochimaru; he merely laughed and said, "We're in Konoha, no one will attack an elder of the village, and besides, Danzo-sama doesn't need protection."

I looked at Danzo, to which he said, "Hmp, enough talk, lead the way Orochimaru."

Orochimaru licked his lips and turned around. As we got deeper, the scent of blood was so strong, I had to put my sleeves onto my nose. The end of the hallway had a large metal door that had a seal. Orochimaru performed hand signs and opened the door, and what I saw almost made me throw up.

The room was full of tanks with humans in them, and most of them were children. Three tables had limbs, organs, and heads, be it from men, women, or children. I glared at Orochimaru and yelled, "What is the meaning of this, Lord Orochimaru?! Experimenting on humans?! And worse of all, you're using childrens!"

I leaped towards Orochimaru who still had his back turned. However, I was quickly stopped by snakes that came out of the floor. Before the Snakes could bite me, I heard a loud voice that came from behind me, "Enough! Orochimaru, have I not warned you to stop experimenting on children and innocent civilians?! Donji, back down!"

Orochimaru turned around, with the snakes receding. He licked his lips and said, "Those fresh corpses are from bandits, Lord Danzo, and the children are old experiments, way before you ordered me not to experiment on children."

Chakra burst out of me as rage took over me, "Past experiments?! Even if you told him to stop, Danzo-sama, those sins cannot be forgiven!"

Danzo began to walk towards me and tapped my shoulders and said, "I know how you feel, Donji, but we cannot just give up on such experiments."

"But why?! That bastard killed innocent civilians, and you know it too! Those hands, those human builds are not from ninjas and bandits!"

Danzo sighed and said, "Donji, you might not understand, but the reason why Konoha still stands is because of the experimentation done by Lord Second and Orochimaru."

[For those of you who are ready to type "Oh that's not true, it's actually because- Yeah I don't care, he is lying his way out.]

"L-Lord Second?"

"That's right. Orochimaru isn't the only one that experiments on human beings, but do not compare my teacher to this inhumane experimentation on humans."

I began to question if the village I fight for is the righteous one. I used to think that the other villages were in the wrong, and that they were the villain of the story… But now…

I heard a sigh and looked up; it came from Danzo who had a solemn face. He began to speak, "Listen, Donji, I know how sickening it is, and I know what you're thinking. The village isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but has a dark side to it."

"So you're saying that I fought for something like this?!"

"No, you fought for the well-being of Konoha… However, Konoha failed you."

"So then why should I continue serving this godforsaken village?! You said it yourself, this village has failed me."

"Donji, where there is light, there will always be shadow. Darkness is necessary in this world. Without those experiments, our powers will decline."

"So what? You would rather kill innocent children and civilians for power?! How corrupt can one be?!"

"Do you know what happened after the death of Lord First? I'll tell you, those bastards that were hand-fed tailed beasts declared war against us, knowing that we were weakened. Lord Second took on the mantle of Hokage and repelled those bastards. With his jutsus that were forged with experimentations, he saved hundreds of innocent lives. Tell me, Donji, would you save 10 people but kill hundreds? Or would you rather kill 10 to save hundreds?"

I froze… I didn't know what to say. However, I gritted my teeth and answered what was on my mind, "There will always be an answer, an answer that's better than killing those innocent lives!"

"Then what are those answers?" The person that answered me wasn't Danzo, it was Orochimaru.

I tried to answer, but nothing came out of my mouth. "I-"

Danzo tapped my shoulders again and said, "Donji, join Root."

I frowned and asked, "Root?"

"Root is an organization that I am currently building. It's an organization that works in the dark to protect the village. An organization that works in the dark will help you understand our village much better. You can do whatever you want once you find your answer."

I looked at the ground and gritted my teeth and clenched my fist.

The three went towards the lab where a certain ninja is in the tank. It was a bald man with white skin. On the top of the tank, it said the name, "Shin Uchiha."

Donji looked shocked and asked, "An Uchiha?!"

Orochimaru chuckled and said, "Yes, he is a special individual."

"How so?" Asked Donji with a frown on his face.

"That's because Shin possesses a unique genetic make-up that would completely accept any new genetic material, be it tissue, organs or entire limbs, without a chance of rejection, allowing him to fully integrate it into his being."

"So his arms will be the one implemented to us?"

"Yes."

Donji gritted his teeth; he felt that it was wrong to use someone else's arms for his own use. However, beside him, Danzo had a smirk on his face and said,

"Let us begin"

Sorry I did not update when I updated my other ff, but I just didn't have the motivation because the ff isn't really getting the interest like my other ff.
