The Road Continues

"What the hell did you say!, if you put one hand on my daughter..." Daiki's eyes didn't falter, they remained on Saito, unfazed by the threat. "Now this is funny, I thought you were prepared to be punished, am I wrong? His old friend was looking at him with eyes full of fury." She-She has nothing to do with any of this" A sadistic smile appeared on along Daiki's lips. "No, you're right, she has nothing to do with any of this... But you do" With that, Daiki started to walk out of the room. That's when he felt something heavy throw itself over him. He knew that this would be the result but know he had him right were he wanted. As he had thought, Akimitsu was no fighter, the grip he had around his waist proved it. Although his old friend already knew this.

"Please, just kill me... Don't hurt anyone else" Daiki turned around with a contorted, feral look on his face. "So you really are in a hurry to leave them behind. You want your daughter to live the rest of her life without her father and you want your wife to be without her husband, while being forced to take care of her child alone" Tears started falling from Akimitsu's eyes and he looked at Daiki with a face full of anguish but to his surprise, there was also a faint smile on his friends face. "Of course I don't want to leave them!, of course I want to see my five year old daughter grow up, of course I want to be with the love of my life one more time, of course I want to live! But even so, I never want to burry my own child and I never want to watch as my wife gets cut down. Killing them will hurt me to my core and it's the worst punishment I can imagine, but you wouldn't gain anything from doing that, I, the one who betrayed you would still be alive"

Hearing those words, Daiki made a decision, he truly had never been cut out for this job, because he felt the one thing you were never supposed to feel for a target, he felt empathy. "If you're going to be so insistent then I guess I just have to kill you instead" After hearing that, Akimitsu started wiping his tears away. "Thank you..." Daiki pointed towards the middle of the room. "Sit there" his old friend stood up, walked over to the middle of the room and sat down in a seiza position. He didn't make another sound and just sat there, waiting for the final strike. Daiki walked over to him and put his hand on the handle of the katana. As he did that, he whispered something that only the two of them would ever know had been said and then, it was over in an instant. The head didn't fall of instantly but stayed a short while before dropping. He stopped it from hitting the ground and making a sound, after that he simply laid the head inside of some clothing that he ripped off his sleeve and left the room.

He was shocked when he saw the daughter of Akimitsu standing in the hallway. "Daddy I can't sleep, please sing to me" Daiki walked over to the kid and ruffled her hair. "Your a strong girl, right?" She looked at him with curious eyes. "Who are you and where's daddy?" He gave her a sorrowful smile and said, "Daddy's not here right now, he's sleeping" She started to look irritated. "But I want him to sing to me now!" His smile somehow became lighter but his eyes became full of grief. "You really are an ungrateful girl, you're parents should have raised you more strictly" She made a confused expression as if she didn't understand what he was saying. "But daddy's always nice to me" He hugged her, even if he had no idea who she was, he felt like as if they had known each other their whole life. "Yes, your daddy's a great guy but right now he needs to rest a bit, you know being a parent is very tiring. Although... He really does love you" She made a big innocent smile and her eyes became full of joy. "Okay, but then I will play even more with him tomorrow!" After saying that she ran back into her room.

He left the house and continued walking down the road he had just made even longer.
