1 Chapter 1:"A Deeply Sh*tty Beginning"
*Yawn*
"Its finally the day" Hiroi Mitsunari gets out of his bed happily and gets ready for his big day.
"My son is finally gonna be an adult" says his mom cheerfully.
"Jeez I am an adult" Hiroi says with an annoyed expression.
"Well, This time its gonna be official. You have waited your entire life for this at least don't be like that".
"Whatever I'm gonna leave now, Bye"
"Oh dad! I am finally gonna be like you". Hiroi thinks to himself while walking.
""In this world there is a rule set by the gods. When a person turns 16 he is given a skill which he keeps for his entire life. It's up to him if he wants to use it to live or find another profession" ..Hiroi narrates.
Hiroi is walking towards the neighborhood church while he sees that a girl barely 4 feet is also going the same way.
"Where are you going?". Hiroi asks the girl without breaking a sweat.
"To the church". The girl cheerfully replies.
"Is it the special day for someone you know?". Hiroi asks.
"Yes! and that someone is me". She replies again.
*chuckles*. Hiroi laughs silently.
"Hey don't laugh, I am 16". The girl says to Hiroi, Somehow she noticed him laughing.
"My bad My bad". Hiroi says while trying to control his laugh.
"My name is Hiroi Mitsunari, It's a pleasure to meet you". Hiroi introduces himself.
"I'm Nagamine Echiko and the feeling is mutual". Nagamine replies to Hiroi.
"Hope you don't get lost". Hiroi runs towards the church while laughing.
"Oy! you are annoying". Nagamine yells.
Hiroi enters the church, *sigh*. "A new start of my adventurous life, Here I come".
There are many people present in the church waiting for the ceremony to start.
"Damn! Quite a few people turned 16 this year eh!?". Hiroi mutters to himself.
"Start already!". A voice from behind Hiroi yells.
"Alright alright". The priest pats the dude's shoulder and goes towards the middle of the ground.
"Everyone! Congratulations for making it this far, I hope you live a good life ahead with the powers God is granting you, Now let's start the ceremony". The priest says loudly while everyone starts to cheer.
After that the priest distributes rings to everyone and says: "Tap the ring twice and it will show you what skill befits you the most"
Everyone does as told and cries of happiness, joy, sadness and sorrow rise. Someone is happy for their skill and someone is sad. Some get the skill they wanted and some get nothing they wanted.
While holding his breath Hiroi double taps the ring and hears a voice: "Your skill is to steal".
The same sentence keeps dragging Hiroi into darkness when a voice brings him back to reality: "Hiroi, are you alright". The voice is of Nagamine.
"Yea, I am alright". Hiroi tells. He notices the hat and the staff with Nagamine.
"You got the mage?" Hiroi asks.
"Yea, and you?". Nagamine notices the gloves on Hiroi's hands. *pffft* Nagamine breaks out laughing.
"Shut up". Hiroi asks her.
"Sorry Sorry, But for real? You got steal? You became a thief instead of a hero" Nagamine talks while trying to control her laughter.
"OK! Now that all of you are done getting your skills your first objective is to go through the forest behind the church to the church of the next town". The priest continues to talk: "This is to test your skills, There aren't many monsters in these woods and your actions are being monitored so if anything goes wrong help will be there immediately, And good luck to all of you"
Hiroi keeps standing at one place when he finally decides to go back home. He turns towards his home when Nagamine asks him: "Where are you going? The forest is that way".
"I'm going back home" Hiroi replies.
"But why! You should at least try." Nagamine asks Hiroi.
"Idk, I've dream't my entire life for this moment and it turned out to be awful" Hiroi says sadly.
"I will help you! You can be the first hero that is a thief" Nagamine says in a hopeful way.
"Alright fine" Hiroi finally implies and goes with Nagamine.
"Are the gods playing with my life?" Hiroi thinks to himself.
"Let's go" Nagamine says while walking towards the woods.
"Alright then" Hiroi runs towards the forest.
After walking for sometime they finally reach the forest. "Man this sucks" Says Hiroi .
"Ah don't worry it can't be that bad" Nagamine says to Hiroi.
Its halfway through the forest and there is nothing but slimes which Nagamine has been dealing with.
"Let me do something too damn it" Hiroi says to Nagamine.
"OK! The next one that comes will be your responsibility, I am not gonna do a thing" Nagamine replies to Hiroi.
Suddenly a lion like creature jumps in front of them.*grrrr* It starts growling at them.
"How is this a small monster?" Hiroi yells.
"Hah well I am not gonna do anything now, Good luck beating that thing on your own" Nagamine says while laughing.
"Whatever I am gonna beat it by myself just you see" Hiroi replies angrily.
"I said it but how am I even supposed to use my power?" Hiroi thinks to himself.
"STEAL" Hiroi yells. "steal", "steal". *nothing happens*.
"hah" Nagamine laughs.
"AAAH", "What am I supposed to do with this skill"
"Are the gods playing a game with meee?"Hiroi yells..........................
