Chapter 27 – The Castle

Passing through the gates Ender, Scarlet, Millie, and Sarah was able to see the grand splendor of the castle in full might. The front entrance had a courtyard that had trees positioned on the passageway. Ender and Millie were in awe as this was their first time seeing the castle. The castle seemed to have estates designated within for certain people. The main castle was separated into two parts the outer part had a wall like structure with short towers at the corners. In the inside part was the main part with tall towers inside with some space between the parts. Decorations were carved on the structures having elaborate able to seen on certain angles. The tower was symmetrically aligned with a minor gate at the center outer court.

Ender was amazed at the differences time could make on art change. In front of the palace were no other carriages meaning that other nobles were not visiting at the time. When Scarlet saw this, she was excited. Turning to Millie and Ender she stated, "With no one visiting we can look around the palace. I do not think that we will see anybody if we just look around the outer walls areas."

Ender nodded amused at Scarlet's enthusiasm and went along with her. Scarlet must have been looking forward to this day for quiet some time. Scarlet was essentially bouncing with joy in the carriage. The carriage slowly approached the entrance however as soon as they stopped Scarlet popped the door open different from her usual majestic air. This time Scarlet was just an eight year old girl returning home with a friend she 'invited' over.

When Ender exited the carriage with Sarah and Millie after Scarlet, two rows of maids and butlers were in lines bowing. The people from the castle had heard that Scarlet had returned from a messenger from the gates. What they did not know that beside Sarah there were other people inside the carriage with Scarlet.

In a proud stance Scarlet stated, "These are my friends that I made in the human Kingdom of Crag. Please set two rooms for them in my personal estate as guests with clothes that should fit them. You are dismissed for now I wish to show them of the outer areas of the castle." Having forgotten her status she started pulling Ender and Millie around by the hands. Sarah handed a random maid the measurements she got of Ender and Millie some way or another. Turning around Sarah slowly trailed behind with a slight pouting look as she saw Scarlet and Ender holding hands.

The maids and butlers were stupefied before looking at one another. A quick concession was made with themselves. Half went to fix the rooms while the other half went to find the person who should be notified of this matter. Scarlet's mother, Queen Ruby Angora.

The queen Ruby must be notified because of multiple reasons. One princess Scarlet was not acting her usual self but like a normal girl. Two the princess Scarlet also brought two unknown guest that were humans. Third Scarlet was jovially holding the hands of the two humans which one was a male boy of the same age as herself.

All of these reason were enough to needing to be reported but all three at the same time were an issue on a different level. Like scurrying insect the maids and butlers went to work on their tasks.

As the maids and butlers left Ender and Millie were dragged around towards the castle gates that were opened. With the minimum amount of space needed Scarlet dragged the two like a couple of human sized dolls. Nearly tearing their arms off Scarlet showed off every room she could think off. The kitchen, cannon rooms, the bath houses, the pantry, the towers, and even the restrooms.

Scarlet tried to explain the art and other objects in the castle but Sarah explained what Scarlet was not able to. With every now and then slowly approaching Ender. Though the two girls agreed to each other trying to win Ender's heart over there were still silent fights. Scarlet would pull Ender as Sarah got closer and Sarah would try to brush certain areas to attract Ender. Like this the silent war continued as Ender was oblivious to the two girls fighting over him.

Millie on the other side saw from a different angle and was laughing yet worrying for her son's future… "Is this the hormones from the pregnancy that has mellowed be out? I will just think so for now. Watching their play is amusing as well. Huhuhuhu," Millie mused to herself.

Scarlet decided not to enter the inner area because she wanted to reduce the risk of her running into her other family members. Every now and then a couple of maids or butlers came by to state that Scarlet had a schedule she should partake to if she returned but Scarlet refused all of them. Scarlet also got notification stating that the room were also made for her guests. Scarlet would be able to bring them to her estate whenever she wanted.

Looking up at the sky Scarlet noticed the time and how hungry she was. Looking back she also notice that Ender, Millie, and Scarlet were tired and heard growling from their stomachs. Slightly embarrassed from her previous behavior Scarlet ordered a local maid to prepare an early dinner while they make way towards her estate.

In another room in the Castle was a woman of beauty sitting down to a series of reports without looking up from the paperwork in front of her. The beauty's pink hair was tied up so that the hair would not get in the way of the paperwork. Her Pink ears would twitch from time to time with the report while a pink tail laid on her side. Even while working a sense of majesty could be felt from her movement. When report got the point in which one of the guests were a male human boy of the same age as the princess Scarlet the woman paused for a second before continuing. The lady also heard from the report that the group of Scarlet would be having dinner soon. When the report ended at the woman looked up as her pink eyes seemed to contemplating.

After some thought she started to give orders, "I shall be having dinner with them so prepare an extra seating and food." After more thought, "Give word that the guests are to be kept confidential. I will personally tell the king so do not report to him directly but report I will be with Scarlet so I may be late. We do not want him to be distracted. Also do not tell her brother, Brutus, as long as possible. We do not want more issues than we can handle."

The maids bowed before all saying, "Yes my queen." Yes, the woman that was receiving reports was the queen Ruby Angora.

After the queen left a happy smile seen on Ruby's face as she mused to herself, "Interesting, very interesting. As long as the boy is strong my husband, Wild, should not care the problem should be the other one… That child, Brutus, has always been… an issue. But if that boy Ender becomes strong rapidly and beats some sense into him… Mmmn I should support the boy as much as possible in that case." Standing up Ruby Angora left her office and headed for Scarlet's estate.
