The rise of the Arc knight(RWBY fanfic)

Destiny is a fickle mistress and its whims are incomprehensible to mere mortals. An average teen from Earth is mysteriously transported to the world of fiction, not only that but he possesses the body of one of its characters as a baby. Now, he must make use of his knowledge in order to change the plot and avoid making the mistakes that his predecessor once made. ======================= -There will be no cheat, no system or any form of outside help for the protagonist, he will have to make do with just his knowledge of future events and hard work. -The pairings and size of the harem is yet to be decided but it will be 5 members maximum. -I will try to weave both canon and original plots on this fanfic so feel free to call out any mistakes or discrepancies that might be originated from that. ======================= I don't own the cover or any of the images that I may use on this fic, the same goes for the show and characters that it depicts as they belong to roster teeth.

The scary munchkin

The weeks following the news that Jaune was leaving the village were hectic to say the least, he had to somehow keep his training, studying and hacking practice routine while dealing with all his sisters that wanted to make the most of the time before he moved on and the other villagers visiting and sending their regards to him before his departure.

But he was able to make it all work out in the end. Though he will definitely miss his family while he's away, but it is something that must be done no matter what, staying in Ansel until he reaches 17 will never allow him to reach his full potential so he must travel the world and find great teachers to train him.

That is the main reason he has waited until now without receiving training in combat, even though he could've done it after his father's change of heart.

He's been investing a lot of time since even before he stated exercising in order to find the perfect teacher to teach him the style that would best suit him, and as he searched through legal and less than legal means, he stumbled upon the person who would make the perfect fit for his first teacher.

Master Ryu-Bang was not only an close quarter specialist and a hand to hand combat legend but he was more importantly an Aura master of the highest degree and could use his aura in ways that others could only dream of. Although I don't intend to become an unarmed fighter, having a backup fighting style if you are disarmed would be very useful and I can only imagine the damage that Aura techniques would deliver when combined with the original's large Aura pool.

Though it was very hard to find him, he had retired a long time ago and no one knows his current whereabouts, it was only after gathering every clue and hacking into a lot of computers that I managed to find a document that stated that he had changed his name to Odachi and opened a small dojo in the lower level of Mistral.

So after I was sent off by my family, but not before they made me promise then to call back every day and to not get involved in anything dangerous, My sister Saphron and I have boarded the bullhead and travelled straight towards the biggest city on the continent of Anima, Mistral.

...

When we reached our destination I was overwhelmed by the scenery, I had only left the village once before and I never got a chance to really explore the place. But I could already tell that I'm in a place that is much bigger than Argus, it was also much more hectic than I imagined it to be.

Saphron then quickly guided me towards the place we would be living for the foreseeable future, it was a pretty respectfully sized apartment with everything you could possibly want such as a kitchen, bathroom, a place to wash your clothes and the rooms.

Shortly after taking my first step inside I heard my sister talk

"Welcome to my humble abode, you can take any of the empty rooms and put your stuff inside." She says while pointing towards where the rooms are at.

"I hope that mother has taught you how to cook, if not you will be stuck eating takeaway for the foreseeable future."

I nod towards her, I made sure to learn some recipes from mom in my free time for situations like these.

"Great, I'll be spending most of the day outside so be free to do what you like, just don't make a mess of the place, I may bring visitors from time to time."

"Don't worry, just warn me whenever you decide to bring Terra along, so I can give the two of you some privacy." Just as I promised Terra, I helped the two of them to get together, so their relationship has improved at a very fast pace, but I didn't tell any of my family anything about this till now due to Terra's own wishes.

Hearing this she becomes momentarily frozen, no doubt wandering how I discovered their secret or if my parents already know, I just shrug and make my way towards one of the empty rooms. Reaching there I drop off my stuff which only consisted of a few sets of clothing, personal utensils and my computer which I decided to assemble later. I had brought few clothes since kids grow fast and I grow abnormally fast for a kid so I will have to buy new ones later anyway.

Having dropped off all my stuff, I don't waste any more time and leave the apartment to search for the dojo I'm looking for, before leaving I tell Saphron where I'm going in order to not worry her too much and she tells me to stay safe and wishes me luck in joining the dojo.

As I wander through the streets of Mistral, I take in the sights of the neighborhood and make sure to memorize any important places just like I did in Ansel, the area of the city our apartment is located is on a middle ground, not being as luxurious as the top level but far away from the gangs and crime from the lower level.

The search for the dojo quickly takes me to the lower level of the city and after asking around and avoiding any secluded alleys or suspicious individuals I finally manage to reach my destination. Taking a deep breath, I calm my nerves before making my way inside.

...

Master Odachi, formerly known as Ryu-Bang the crushing fist, is someone who has lived a very long life if you consider the fact that he was once a huntsman, in his youth he has claimed fame among the masses and renown among his peers but as he has grown older, his priorities have shifted considerably.

Now he wishes to find a worthy successor in order to impart his techniques to, he is already satisfied with his accomplishments in life but he wishes for his life's work to be used by a righteous warrior in order to uphold the values that he once believed in, he has abandoned his previous name in order to rid himself of any distractions and be able to dedicate the rest of his days towards finding the right person.

So far his efforts have only brought him disappointment, he already expected it to be a difficult task considering the strict requirements they have to meet but he still can't help but be a little frustrated. He has owned dojos in all the four kingdoms, he has met with every kind of apprentice but none managed to fulfill all the requirements, some were very talented but lacked a good heart choosing to wield the power they were given in selfish pursuits while others had a heart that sought justice but were unable to learn the more advanced techniques. His last ditch effort was to come to the lower levels of mistral in order to try and find a hidden gem beneath all the filth.

He just shook his head and smiled bitterly at his thoughts, maybe he has put to much faith in being able to find a successor. When he was still a huntsman he was always a lone wolf since at the time the huntsman academies didn't operate with teamwork as a priority and that caused him to be a closed off person that rarely related with others. In the end he never had any children of his own and that has ignited in him the desire to find someone to carry his legacy.

Snapping away from his thoughts he goes back to imparting his lessons to his students while aiding in their training by pointing out the mistakes they are making. His dojo admits kids from 6 to 15 years old, any older than that and it would be impossible for him to impart his techniques. The youngest are stretching and exercising while hearing his lessons while the oldest are sparring between themselves in order to hone their technique in mock combat.

The atmosphere was tranquil but it was unexpectedly disturbed when the doors suddenly opened drawing all the students gazes.

Master Odachi also gazed towards the one that had just entered before calmly analysing the person to the smallest detail.

There it stood a kid, he had golden blond hair and deep blue eyes, his clothes were very simple and casual making him not stand out. His body on the other hand was obviously trained and it showed by his lack of any fat and the abundance of lean muscles, though due to his young age they are still not very pronounced. His age seemed to be between 8 or 9 years old, not too old but also not as young as others that have started their training, but the most curious observation that he made was in regards to the boy's posture and expression, they reveal focus and resolve. It is clear that this boy has come for a reason other than just curiosity.

The boy then made his way over and spoken in a very clear voice "Is this the place where I can find master Odachi?"

That has allowed Odachi to learn a bit more about him, he isn't self conscious or is capable to hide its nerves very well to call him out in the middle of the dojo without any problem and he can tell by his accent that he is definitely a village munchkin that grew away very far from the big cities. That is good since kids with his background are more inclined to keep doing strenuous and repetitive exercises without looking for shortcuts but also bad since they are very slow to find the intricacies of his techniques.

He makes his way from where he was standing and approaches the kid who was in the middle of his dojo.

"I'm Odachi, who is the one asking?"

The boy respectfully bows to him before introducing himself "My name is Jaune Arc, I've come to seek guidance from master in my training."

He then nods to himself and says "Did you come with your guardian? I would like to speak with him/her before accepting you into the dojo."

The boy shook his head and said: "I've come alone, and I have no intention of joining the dojo."

That leaves Odachi confused and he can't stop himself from replying with "Come again?"

But the boy replies without showing any doubt "I've not come to join the dojo as one of its members, I have come to join your direct tutelage by becoming your direct disciple."

The blunt way which the boy has made that statement has left everyone in the dojo incredulous, this kid wasn't looking to become a member of their dojo but to get master Odachi to adopt him as his direct disciple!

Becoming a direct disciple is the biggest honor a disciple can be conferred and is something that all the students in the dojo yearn for since that would mean that the person chosen would be getting special one-to-one lessons and would get access to the most closely guarded techniques. For some brat that entered the dojo for the first time to have the audacity to make such demand when others have been waiting for this chance for years. It is safe to say that this new kid has gotten into all the other students bad graces.

Odachi after after getting over his shock than asks with an amused smile "And why would I do that?" If he was honest, he didn't hate his gutsy and straight to the point attitude, it certainly was helping the brat gain some points with him.

"Because I'm going to show you that I'm someone that is worth teaching." The boy doesn't seem concerned in the least as he says that.

"Hmmm, let's do things like this, I will set up a sparring match between you and one of my students and depending on your performance I will consider it. Do you agree to this."

"Yes, it is fine"

"Tell me then how much experience do you have so I can pair you with a suitable opponent."

"None."

"None?"

"Yes, I've just had physical conditioning so far, this will be my first experience fighting."

"You think you can defeat one of my students without any fighting experience?" He is quite surprised that this boy has made such a bold claim, though he is also quite disappointed now that he realized that the boy was not capable of backing his bold claim, the boy just lost the points he was just given.

"Who knows? anyway it goes it will be a valuable learning experience. Everyone has to start somewhere, no?" The brat says with a calm demeanor, seemingly unaffected by his impending beating and considering that he earned the dislike of his students already, he doesn't think there is any willing to be lenient with the boy.

He then takes a deep breath and calls out one of his weakest students in order to limit the damage that will be done, despite the boys arrogance he still doesn't want for him to be too badly beaten. "Cole, do you accept this challenge in behalf of our dojo?"

"Yes, Master." He says while trying to hide the sadistic smirk that appeared on his face.

"Then lead this boy to where he can change into training clothes before returning here so you two can spar."

"Understood!" Cole than turns to the boy "follow me" He says before both of them disappear into the changing room.

To be fair Odachi had high hopes for the boy when he entered his doors, but just like everyone before he was met with disappointment when he discovered that he had no fighting experience at his age.

But maybe suffering a loss now will be ultimately good for him, it will tone down on his previous arrogance and make him realize how lacking he is. As long as he doesn't lose too shamefully Odachi is more than willing to accept him in the dojo.

But Odachi has no idea that the person he invited already knew his identity, and everything Jaune just did was just acting based of on all the information that he already knows about this man.

So far, It has all gone according to plan.

Sorry for the delay, I hope you guys can give me your feedback when I write my first Acton sequence next chapter
