Chapter 6: My new Life

14 Years later...

----World POV----

"Hurry up Fenrir!"

A teenage girl ran through the forest of Yggdrasil, accompanied by a big wolf like monster. It was, of course, Lilith and her warg companion Fenrir. Since she was a 4yo she started exploring this unending forest. At first there were only short trips, because the Forest was still Dangerous, but with time, the help of her family and Fenrir, she had ventured deeper and deeper into the forest.

This former Japanese girl had now fully accepted that she was in another world, and if you asked her, she would tell you how glad she was for this new life she was gifted with. She loved her family, the village she grew up in and this deep, unending and dangerous forest. But that wouldn't worry her, because not only was she taught by her parents in all sorts of combat, she also had Fenrir. He, who is a 1.2 Meters high and 2 Meters long wolf with hulking muscles and his pitch black fur. His large teeth could be seen as soon as one threatened his mistress. He was as merciless when it came to enemies as he was loving when it came to Lilith and her family.

Lilith herself was now a lady of impressive stature. But contrary to what one might expect she didn't look like her family at all. Her shining white hair was at hip length and it flew trough the wind as she ran. She had blood red eyes that everyone described as if they where directly staring at ones soul. Her two ears where fairly long and at their end they where shaped like spikes. Contrary to her mothers two horns at each end of her Forehead, Lilith had no horns at all. Her skin wasn't pale either, it was light purple and was shining when it came into contact with the sunlight. When she stood straight her height was about 1.7 meters and it felt like she would never stop growing. The training with her parents left her with quiet tuned muscles and a rather athletic Body.

"Lets climb the big tree over there!"

And so it was that Lilith started climbing one of the largest and thickest trees in the near vicinity.

----Lilith POV----

I stared at the tree as I remembered what Mum had taught me.

*Concentrate Lilith, concentrate.*

As I felt my Mana circulating inside my body, I manipulated it so it would flow straight to my knees and feet as I slightly bent down, only to then push myself upwards with all the might I had. As I flew upwards there was only one thought in my head.

*That was to much...well...shit.*

I slammed with my head into one of the trees branches and could only think about how stupid I was and how much it hurt. Quickly reacting i grabbed the branch and swung myself onto it to sit down rubbing my head.

*Well Mum always said learning though pain...but still this pain is pretty awful...*

One normal being would've fell unconscious but Lilith had a rather high resistance against pain.

As I sat on the branch, Fenrir climbed the Tree by clawing himself up, leaving shreds in the trees main body.

"Come on Fenrir, you can do it!"

I crawled forward on the branch until I reached a point, from where i could look over parts of the Forest and the whole of Suben, the Village I grew up in. It was only a small piece of land we had here, it couldn't even be compared to a real village, even if we called it as such. There where five buildings build in a cycle with the clan's hall in the middle. The houses were entirely build of wood from the forest and there was only a small palisade surrounding us that could protect us from some monsters that lived in the forest. We were heavily reliant on a human merchant that came to us once a month and sold us things from the cities of the Empire of Grimveil.

*It's a good thing this merchant is trustworthy...no other human shall know where we live or this peaceful life is over.*

Most humans hated us demons for merely existing. Most of them believed in the teachings of Claudius, a prophet that lived 514 Years ago. It is said that he was the 'Son of the Sun' and the 'Bringer of Light' into this World. But he was murdered by a demon, because they thought he would break the peace between humanity and the demons. The church propagated that demons and beastmen where the sole evil in the world and one must strive to overcome them.

"This all sounds like made up shit."

That was my first reaction when old Griselda gave me the lesson on Religion and Humanity.

We demons in contrary believe in ancestry, holding my namesake, the first 'Demon Queen Lilith', in the highest regards and worshiping her. I was so excited for my birthday because i was born on the same day as the 'Festival of the First' was held. A day, when everyone celebrates the day, queen Lilith was born. But this too was a long time ago, so long in fact that no one could even say an exact number of years. I for myself don't even believe that either of them existed or were as great as they were made up to be. If there was one thing in my previous life I liked, it was history. I tried as often as i could to escape from my home and go to the library to read history books and I now see the same pattern of these larger than life persons, that where held in higher regard as they really deserved to be.

As I continued to look over the forest, I couldn't help but drift nostalgically into the past.

I can still remember when I woke up in a small Crib, looking around and not knowing how I got there, only to then see Mum coming towards me, smiling like she always did, when she saw me.

"We finally arrived in Suben little one, tomorrow i will show you around, ok?"

I wanted to smile but then I noticed something rather strange.

*Are these...HORNS?*

I was more than shocked, I couldn't fathom what my mum was and why she had these horns on her forehead.

*Why didn't I noticed them earlier? Is this scar on Fathers forehead were a horn should be? Are these some kind of monsters that lured me into being happy, only to cook and eat me later?*

Mum had quickly realized that I panicked and took me into her arms and after some time I composed myself. This was the first time I suspected that I wasn't on Earth anymore and it didn't took long for me to know that I was right.

I hope you like this little piece of worldbuilding as I for myself enjoyed it pretty much

The next chapters will be a little bit on the longer side, so go ahead and tell me if it bothers you.

With high regards

Erik
