After entering 1908, Australasia gradually returned to calm and resumed its usual development.

After more than two months of reorganization and training, the expanded new army officially formed. The Regular 4th Division, 1st Colonial Division, and 2nd Colonial Division, after being granted ranks and numbers, headed to their respective new garrisons to begin the process of stationing and training.

The 1st Colonial Division went to the colony of New Guinea, while the 2nd Colonial Division went to Portuguese Timor.

Although the colonial divisions currently only had a basic structure, the actual recruitment of personnel would take place after their arrival in the colonies.

Nevertheless, once the two colonial divisions underwent initial training, both New Guinea and Portuguese Timor would have stronger defense forces.

After the rotation with the colonial divisions, the garrisons of Portuguese Timor and New Guinea officially returned to mainland Australasia.
