Chapter 204: Kingdom of Australasia

At the end of 1905, two significant events took place. Firstly, Norway became an independent country and chose Prince Carl of Denmark as their king, known as King Haakon VII of Norway. This marked the formal dissolution of the Union between Sweden and Norway, making Norway a separate country in Northern Europe.

The second event occurred on October 2nd at the naval shipyard in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. On this day, the famous HMS Dreadnought battleship officially began construction and was successfully launched for testing after just four months.

Although the testing phase lasted over a year, there is no denying the impact of this battleship, which was constructed in a mere four months, on the future naval landscape and shipbuilding systems worldwide.

Towards the end of 1905, the governments of the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand held a summary conference to report on the achievements and progress of the federal government over the past year.
