9 0009 - Surviving Part 3

[A/N: Here's yet another chapter, once again, my P@treon, Unholy_Student has 3-5 advanced chapters at any given time]

As the hours passed and the skies began darkening, I couldn't help but look towards the sky, where I could see a giant gas giant covering part of the sky with multiple smaller moons in orbit around the gas giant.

This planet was undoubtedly beautiful, whether it be night or day.

As I stood before my simple hut and gazed out towards the night sky, I steeled my resolve to gain enough strength to pass all of my future trials and freely explore the vast universe and learn its secrets.

But as I was lost in my thoughts, I suddenly flinched upon hearing a slight crunch of a twig breaking.

Instantly snapping my eyes towards the noise, I froze upon laying my eyes on a strange and tall blue humanoid with a drawn bow pointed at me that was riding a weird horse-like animal.

When the Male Humanoid locked eyes on me, he said in his native language, "What in the name of Eywa are you?"

"Eywa?" I replied, realizing I understood and somehow knew how to speak the humanoid's native language.

It felt somewhat strange and uncomfortable to speak the humanoid's language with the shape of my mouth.

While under the humanoid's eyes, I started shifting my hand until my palm was facing the man, ready to cast Mana Bolt at a moment's notice if he continued hostilities, and I had to defend myself.

Suddenly, his eyes widen in realization and surprise before hardening as he pulled back the arrow.

Seeing him about to let loose the arrow, I immediately cast Mana Bolt and dodged, barely dodging the long arrow that pierced into the ground at my last spot.

[Congratulations! Your skill Mana Bolt (C) has grown to Level 2!]

Seeing the blue light slowly fire out from my palm and into the humanoid's horse, I took the chance to grab the weapons that I had lying against my hut and sprinted towards the humanoid in hopes of reaching him before he could draw another arrow.

With my stone spear in hand, I examined the damage the Mana Bolt did to the strange horse and found that the Mana Bolt seemed only to deal minimal damage and burn its skin, but it packed enough force to knock it off its feet and onto its rider.

Just when I managed to reach the humanoid, did it manage to get up to its feet, and when I thought it would try to draw another arrow, he instead whipped his bow like a blunt weapon that knocked me to the side.

Not being surprised by his superior strength, I quickly charged him once again, throwing another Mana Bolt and forcing him to dodge so I could stab him with the spear.

[Congratulations! Your skill Mana Bolt (C) has grown to Level 3!]

Unluckily for me, it moved out of the way and grabbed onto my spear with one of his hands to push the spear away from his chest.

This time when I conjured a Mana Bolt, I brought my hand directly up to his chest and fired the spell, making sure it wouldn't miss its target.

[Congratulations! Your skill Mana Bolt (C) has grown to Level 4!]

Seeing the spell successfully smash into the humanoid's chest, I took the chance to pull my spear back before throwing another Mana Bolt and thrusting my spear towards his chest at close range, hitting him with both my spear and bolt.

And yet, to my surprise, the bastard endured even that!

Managing to grab onto my spear, he threw a punch that knocked me off of him and onto the ground.

Although I did notice that I caused some damage to him after he coughed up some blood and grew weaker from the blood loss.

Now without my spear, I drew my bow and knocked an arrow.

"Why did you attack me?!" I questioned, ready to let loose the arrow.

"Your kind are not welcome here! Eywa curse you!" The blue humanoid shouted.

Perhaps his society has met others of my race before?

And just based on the way of life of the Yautja, no wonder he attacked me upon realizing what I was.

[A/N: Just think about it, Yautja hunt, and they hunt anything and everything they deem worthy, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Yautja had absolutely no allies outside of their own society]

Either way, since he turned hostile, I can not let him leave here alive and potentially inform any others of his race of my presence.

With the rest of my Mana, I cast two more Mana Bolts and one of them towards him, forcing him to dodge. I then threw the second one towards him mid-dodge and accurately hit him in his chest, causing him to spit more blood.

[Congratulations! Your skill Mana Bolt (C) has grown to Level 5!]

Even then, he was still standing!

What sort of tenacity is this for him to still be among the living?!

Luckily for me, he seemed to have been weakened even further, and soon he collapsed to the ground due to his injuries.

And with a steeled heart, I swiftly ended its life.

This was far from the first being I have ever killed. Sadly during my first life, I had to kill many due to my upbringing and the situation of the world when I lived, and the rampant crime and corruption that hid within every city.

[You have slain a Na'vi!]

[Congratulations! You have leveled up!]

[Level Up Rewards: +3 Free Stat Points, +1 Physical Defense Stat, +1 Mental Support Stat, +9 Health, +7 Mana, +14 Stamina, +1 Regeneration]

Na'vi?

That's their race's name?

Storing that information away for later, I decided that I would enter the dungeon tomorrow.

If I wanted to survive this trial and any more possible Na'vi that could suddenly appear, I must become stronger.

I won't deny that the only reason I managed to kill the Na'vi was because I had the Mana Bolt skill, and even then if I ran out of Mana before the Na'vi died, it would still have been strong enough to kill me...

If they could find me here, I would need to become strong enough to kill any that appeared...

And for that, what better way to train and become stronger than using the Dungeon Key that was given to me in the gift bag?
