Overthinking

Orochimaru raged in a dimly lit room, throwing various tools as he slammed his hands against the table "HOW?! How is my connection to Kusagani GONE!!" A low hiss left his mouth as he snapped his head towards the entrance, "Danzo~, Don't tempt me…"

Danzo gave a deep chuckle, "It seems you're not having a good day, did you retrieve the item?" Orochimaru looked at Danzo, eyes narrowed "No, it had been moved from its last known location…" Danzo whipped around muttering under his breath "Useless…"

"What?!" Orochimaru stepped forward, his chest puffed out as he looked down on Danzo.

Danzo turned his head "I said you're useless, at this rate you'll find out how little I truly need you… I have been doing these experiments long before you followed in my footsteps, I didn't need you then and I don't need you now… as for you on the other hand, don't you still need something from me?"

After recovering the majority of the chakra he expended in his bout of rage, they quickly left their camp. Shirohi led them in various different directions, turning the half day distance into a day and a half travel. They ran through the night and reached Rannai Village as the sun was rising. They stopped using Shunshin some distance from the village and walked the rest of the way, Shirohi unsealed a few bags of vegetables and fruit Shizune had grown so they didn't enter the Village empty handed.

Shirohi left Tsunade and Shizune at an Inn while he explored the Village, he had to find a location where Tsunade could cleanse the poison from the Hokage… Remembering that he forgot to ask Tsunade of her opinion on the matter he turned around and ran back to the Inn, after finding the room he sat down across from Tsuande.

"Tsu- Mom, The Hokage was poisoned… the reason Jirayia and Minato were looking for us was to persuade you to return to the village and heal him," Tsunade urged him to continue "I refused without even asking you, without seeing how you felt… but I made a deal with them, sometime during this week they will be arriving in the village, it should only be Jirayia and the Hokage but I doubt they will come without the Hokage's personal Anbu…"

Shizune awkwardly chimed in "I've already told her…" Shirohi just blankly stared at Shizune while Tsunade reached out and raised his lowered head "I trust your judgement, just let me know next time alright?"

Shirohi gave a soft nod, enjoying the warmth of her hand against his skin more than he'd like to admit. After a moment he coughed before standing "I gotta look for a place for you to clear his body from poison, if you need anything send Shizune… while we are gone if you have any troubles send your chakra into this seal and it will inform me where you are."

Tsunade took the paper, "Alright, I'll most likely stay in the room… make sure to hurry back, alright?" Shirohi smiled "Okay…" progress is progress, she won't get over her troubles overnight and he doesn't expect her to be a ray of sunshine but seeing her genuinely smiling was enough for him.

As day turned to night then day again have went by Shirohi had spent most of his time with Tsuande, she seemed more talkative than previously and Shirohi wanted some advice, something Tsunade was more than willing to give… "Sometime during my fight with Orochimaru my Chakra Pathways expanded and became elastic," Tsuande hummed. "You're still young so your Chakra Network should still be growing but from how you're putting it that most likely isn't the reason… remove your shirt and lay down. I'll check your pathways."

Shirohi laid down in his back after taking off his shirt, Tsunade delicately placed her long slender fingers above his navel and with short bursts her chakra invaded Shirohi's Chakra Pathway, normally this would be akin to poisoning him but with Tsunade's impeccable control she was able to circumvent Shirohi's chakra fighting hers with some technique.

Her curiosity peaked, his Chakra Pathways were as large as a grown man's yet as elastic as a newborns… This was unseen before, retracting her chakra Tsuande explained "I don't know what caused this but whatever it was treat it as a blessing, ignore everything except meditating and circulating your chakra until the Hokage arrives. If you do this you should expect a decent increase in your chakra capacity but this would also cause your chakra control to regress so make sure you pay close attention…" Tsuande started to explain her findings, Shirohi could only watch in hidden amazement he didn't know what brought upon this change… no Iryojutsu too see her so talkative so… worried a difficult emotion passed through Shirohi.

Tsunade's expression suddenly changed as she questioned "What's wrong?" Shirohi snapped out of his thoughts "I don't know…" Tsunade flicked his forehead "You were probably thinking too much," Shizune nodded "Yup!" from her seat across the room the two girls' eyes met and they both smiled. Shirohi saw Shizune more comfortable than he'd ever seen her and a smile rose to his face… was he happy? Definitely.
