Chapter 08: 1 against 200!

"What if I don't go?" he said in a sarcastic voice as he took a step forward.

The man raised his right hand to warn that with just one more step, they would start attacking him. His eyes turned cold, "In that case, we will use force! Pope Ishtar had declared that if you refused and attacked, we should kill you."

"Haha, just with your present, do you think that will be enough?". His mocking laughter traveled and entered everyone's ears.

Anyone would be overwhelmed and desperate to face two hundred enemies, but for him, who had fought two entire armies in a war, it was no different than child's play.

Although he could now no longer face thousands of opponents at the same time, all his experiences on the battlefield remained ingrained in his mind, so facing and emerging victorious against two hundred enemies would not be difficult to achieve.

Before the soldiers could shout in anger, Nader took one, two, three steps forward. His vision of the world changed, it was as if everyone was moving in slow motion.

With each step he took, bolts of white lightning began to emerge from his body as they lashed the surroundings.

In his right hand, a sword the same color as his energy that was surrounded by sparkling, roaring lightning came to life.

He waved his left hand and dozens of white pellets with sharp points that looked like spinning bolts materialized. Although their size could only be compared to that of two human fingernails, their bolt-like tips pointing menacingly in all directions as they hovered around Nader, they did not lower their deadliness.

Their size and shape increased his flight speed and, at the same time, his lethality. They were not easy to shoot down like arrows and their size was perfect to control, as if that was not enough, the energy they consumed was minuscule compared to powerful and destructive attacks on a large scale.

Nader at the moment did not have a large reserve of energy, so he had no choice but to resort to simple and effective uses of his powers. He had thought it best to keep his energy in reserve to escape in case the Pope and the King showed up later.

The ability he used to materialize the swords and pellets was called [Energy Manipulation]. The white rays surrounding them were the [Law of Lightning]. The latter should be a blue color, but due to the intervention of his energy of the nothingness., the color of the lightning had been modified.

His weak but power-filled voice resounded with a deep rumble that shook the air on the battlefield.

"Well, how about we dance...?".

His opponents around him shuddered as an invisible pressure hovered in the surrounding atmosphere that hindered their breath.

"Commence the attack!" the middle-aged man ordered forcefully. He knew Nader would not surrender, so the only option ahead was to kill him.

Without waiting, the warriors began to run with all the stat points they possessed. Their expressions were dark and a bit fearful.

The mages behind them began muttering magic words while the mages who specialized in healing stood at a distance not too far away watching carefully in case the warriors got hurt.

Nader stomped to the ground and, with a white blur, disappeared from his spot, leaving a white and red stain in his wake.

In a second, his silhouette appeared in front of a soldier charging towards him. Mercilessly, he swung his sword and cut him in half.

At the same time, he unfurled the pointy white pellets floating around and had them shoot skyward before bending towards the mages that were scattered about: either in the streets or on top of the roofs of the houses.

He was aware that the mages would prove to be the most annoying on the battlefield next to the archers, but luckily, there were only warriors and mages at the moment. Because of that reason, he had chosen to eliminate the mages with the spinning pellets.

Without waiting for the blood to splatter, he closed the distance between another warrior who had looked in his direction because of the sudden noise. The last thing the warrior saw was a flash of white that flickered for a second before his body split into two halves.

Nader stomped hard on the ground, causing it to crack, and charged at the other soldiers.

As this happened, the little white balls that flickered in the night, arrived in front of dozens of mages who were still chanting their spells, obviously unaware of the impending danger.

Noiselessly, the pellets passed through their foreheads and out the back of their heads. Their brain matter along with blood splattered as their bodies lost strength before they fell heavily to the ground.

The pellets did not stop and traced the air with a sharp hiss as they increased speed. The wizards, upon learning what had happened, turned pale. One chanted a barrier spell to protect himself, but before he finished, his head was already pierced.

"Warriors, spread out and protect the mages!" shouted the middle-aged man as, with a face seething with fury, he charged with all his might towards Nader.

As Nader expertly wielded his pellets to kill the mages, he flickered from place to place as he dodged and killed the warriors. Each swing of his sword took a life.

The battlefield had become permeated with the smell of blood. The streets and the walls of the houses were painted with the blood of the dead.

This bloody atmosphere had increased Nader's bloodlust. Within his eyes, he could glimpse small white rays sparkling.

He stretched out in front of an enemy and stabbed him mercilessly in the heart.

Armor and shields proved ineffective against his sword. Moreover, because the warriors' armor was made of metal, the lightning that flashed around his sword electrocuted the bodies of his enemies. This increased the pains of their bodies before they met death.

Seeing that some sword skills were being directed in his direction, he stomped on the ground and jumped into the air. He somersaulted and landed on top of the roof of a house as the sword in his hand dissolved into thin air.

With a cold smile, a majestic white bow with a red core formed in the air. With a wave of his hand, he grabbed it and positioned himself to fire.

The warrior captain's eyes widened in horror before he shouted at the top of his lungs, "Quickly, use your shields to defend yourselves!".

The soldiers who were trying to defend the mages from the pellets positioned themselves to defend themselves, unfortunately, they lost their lives the instant they turned their backs to the pellets that were previously heading in the direction of the mages.

Nader took the bowstring and drew it back while three arrows made of white lightning materialized between the bowstring and the body of the bow. The wind around the tips of the arrows rippled.

Nader released the string and the arrows shot out.

*whistling!* *whistling!* *whistling!*

The white trail cut through the air as dots of condensed air appeared behind the arrows.

The three arrows were aimed directly at three warriors who had a shield on their foreheads. But the arrows pierced them as if they were mere butter. The torsos of warriors disappeared leaving only heads rolling through the skies and legs falling with a thud to the ground.

*Booom!* *Booom!* *Booom!* *Booom!*

Three thunderous sounds echoed across the battlefield drowning out the cries of despair. The warriors near the explosion flew away as they buried themselves in the walls of the houses.

All that was left at the site of the explosions were craters a few meters deep as white lightning whizzed inside.

When the arrows had hit, Nader had already materialized three more arrows, ready to be fired.

"W-wait! We surrender!" the battalion captain shouted. He knew that if he continued this way, only death awaited them all. After all, there were only about ten mages left with their heads intact. On the other hand, the healers were trembling in their places. They had not had a chance to heal their allies as every one of Nader's opponents died.

In all this time, only a minute had passed and more than half of Nader's opponents were already dead.

"Heh, weren't you the ones who intended to stop me and kill me? And now when you see things going bad for you you want to give up so I'll let them live? You've got to be kidding me." Nader's lips curved upward before he released the three arrows.

He was well aware that the worst mistake one could make on the battlefield was to let his opponents live.

*Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Along with the explosion, the bodies of the warriors were ejected in all directions like rag dolls.

Before the captain could say anything else, three more arrows shot towards the warriors. One of the arrows changed direction in the air and traced a line towards him.

His face turned pale. He knew that shields didn't work against arrows, even if he dodged, it would change direction and follow him. With his mind in a panic, he made a horizontal slash that contacted against the arrow's body.

Sounds of metal clashing against metal echoed as gold and white sparks scattered before the arrow deflected and brushed past the captain's cheeks. Before he sighed in relief, he felt the air behind him stir. He forgot that arrows could deflect their trajectory. He felt a sharp pain shoot through him before he saw an arrow obliterate his torso. The last thing his eyes caught were the explosions that swallowed him up forever.

Whether warriors or mages who had seen their leader die, they felt the need to quickly leave the battlefield. But before they took a few steps back, they heard several whistles in the air before their sights were covered by a black blanket.

The little white balls flew zig-zagging as they claimed the lives of their enemies without any resistance.

It was the first time they felt so helpless on the battlefield. Not even the demons and monsters had surpassed them to this extent. And today, a single boy played with them on the battlefield. The mages didn't even have time to finish their chants, the healers had no jobs, while the warriors couldn't land any blows on Nader.

Nader did not mind his feelings of helplessness as he handled the pellets with precision to pierce the heads of his enemies, causing blood and brain parts to splatter their surroundings.

After a few minutes of panicked screams and sounds of mangled flesh, all that was left was blood and lifeless bodies strewn everywhere.

Nader was standing on the roof of a house while his eyes glowed brightly with cold light. His appearance was intimidating in the moonlight. The bloodlust seeping from his pores would be enough to make someone pee their pants.

He gave a glance around the silent place before jumping up and down on the ground as he began to walk towards a pillar. Around his right hand appeared a sharp white blade. He made two cuts towards the column a few inches thick and grabbed it.

He walked towards a body lying in the middle of the street and cut the head off its neck as the white blade dissolved. He then nailed the man's head to the stake.

Afterward, he cut a piece of cloth from the white clothes the body was wearing, and with the blood of his enemy, he wrote:

[I hope you like my gift. The next head that will be on a stake will be yours].

He tied the message on the stake under the man's head. Then he made his energy surround both the stake and the head, reinforcing them.

He turned around and looked towards where the Cathedral of the Holy Church should be. A smile formed on his face and he gripped the stake tightly before holding it above his shoulders as if to throw a spear.

He put half his strength into his legs and arms and took a step forward while at the same time pulling the stake with the momentum generated.

The stake left his hand and with a popping sound, it was shot out causing the ground around Nader to crack and they went flying.

If Nader had used all his strength at this moment to throw the stake, he would have broken the sound barrier.

Nader looked at the stake, which shortly after was swallowed up by the darkness of the night, leaving behind only the sound of the wind being ripped.

With a sigh, he turned around and used his ability [Riftwalk] leaving behind only residual images as he headed towards where the entrance to the Great Orcus Labyrinth should be.

Phew! It took me a long time to finish the chapter.

This is my first time writing fight scenes so it might be a bit boring for you guys.

Well, I hope you have a nice day or night.
