Peculiar Mirror (3)

Golden Gate Academy

At this time, Lisa sat on a chair in the Academy's library while silently reading a book with her legs crossed.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up as the hairs on her skin stood on end. She felt a strong wave of mana that seemed to reverberate throughout the entire city.

'What's going on?' Lisa inwardly exclaimed as her eyebrows knitted as she hurriedly made her way to the window and jumped over the window and cast a spell.

"[Wind Breakthrough]"

A gust of wind came out from her feet as she shot upwards and landed on the roof of the building.

She then looked at the direction where she felt the wave of mana came from.

"This feeling... What a strong wave of mana. I wonder what caused it?" Lisa muttered as she immersed herself on the feeling of the wave of mana as she closed her eyes.

"I sense a feeling of familiarity.." Lisa muttered with a low voice as she opened her eyes.

Her eyes suddenly narrowed when she realized that the direction where the mana came from coincided with the direction of her mansion.

'Could it be!? I hope I'm wrong. Stay safe kids' Lisa thought to herself as she rushed forward to the direction of the mansion.

...

Sky Dragon Guild

Meanwhile, on the western border of the city, a building made of stone with hip-and-gable roof style on top stood strong as it emanated an imposing aura, like a dragon.

An old man with wizened white long hair with a topknot and white long beard as he lay on the roof of the building with his eyes closed as if he was laying on his bed. He wore a blue typical wuxia clothing.

Suddenly, his eyes opened wide as his expression was quickly replaced with a frown.

A strong wave of mana woke him up. He stood up and looked at the direction where the mana came from.

"Interesting." the old man said as he held his beard.

Without saying another word, he rushed forward while jumping on the roofs like a ninja, heading towards the direction of the mana wave.

...

At this time, Carla and Leon covered their eyes with their hands as the blinding light illuminated the back of the mansion.

When the light died down, Carla and Leon slowly opened their eyes. They found the broken pieces of the mirror but Rick and Gelnar were nowhere to be found.

"Rick!" Carla and Leon shouted as they rushed forward and neared the broken pieces of the peculiar mirror.

"Where's Rick!?" Carla yelled as she looked at Leon.

"I don't know. The light blinded me for a while" Leon replied as his eyebrows creased.

"What should we do?" Carla asked with a worried expression.

"Let's look around. Maybe Rick was able to get away, you know him" Leon said as his eyes darted around.

They then looked around the entire mansion but to their disappointment, they didn't find Rick.

"I don't know about that thief but Rick should be fine, at least I hope so. For now, you stay here while I'll go to the Academy to find Lisa" Leon said as he assured Carla.

He then rushed forward as he jumped over the back of the mansion and swiftly made his way to Golden Gate Academy while Carla stayed near the broken pieces of the mirror.

Shortly afterwards, Carla turned her head upwards and saw the approaching figure of a woman. Her heart began to race but it calmed down when she realized it was Lisa.

"Lisa! Glad you're here. Where's Leon?" Carla said as she looked for Leon's figure.

"Leon? I thought he was here?" Lisa replied as she lifted an eyebrow.

"Leon went to the Academy to find you but it seems you didn't meet each other. Anyway, scratch that" Carla said.

"There was a thief who stole the mirror in Rick's room so Rick went to fight with it. Afterwards, we joined the fight and cornered the thief. It was then that cracks appeared on the surface of the mirror as it shook but it quickly died down. Then-" Carla hurriedly explained the situation but her words were cut off.

"Hold on. The mirror you were talking about, is that what's left of it?" Lisa said as she pointed towards the broken pieces of the mirror.

Afterwards, Carla continued explaining what happened earlier while Lisa listened attentively.

Lisa then approached the mirror and picked up the broken pieces as she closely examined them.

"I owned this place and everything in it but I didn't know that it was something more" Lisa said as her expression turned sour.

"The thief said that the mirror will only bring a looming disaster to those unworthy of it?" Lisa said as she looked at Carla.

Carla nodded with a worried expression on her face.

"Lisa... Is Rick safe? Where could he be?" Carla asked.

"I don't know where he is right now but I know for sure that he's safe" Lisa assured Carla.

"Really? Why?" Carla said as she heaved a sigh of relief before her relief was replaced with curiosity.

"Let's wait for a person to arrive. He should be on his way here" Lisa said with her hands on her hips.

"Who?"

"Speaking of the devil, he's here" Lisa said as she looked up.

Carla followed her gaze and saw a wizened old man in typical blue wuxia clothing standing on the wall on the back of the mansion.

He then jumped down and landed on the ground without making a sound as his white hair gracefully blew in the air. A hint of respect can be seen in Lisa's eyes as she looked at the old man.

"This old man greets the Vice headmaster of the Golden Gate Academy" the old man greeted as he cupped his hands.

"Greetings, Sky Dragon Guild master" Lisa said as she performed a light bow.

'The Sky Dragon Guild Master!?' Carla inwardly exclaimed as she scrutinized the old man in front of her.

"This young lady is?" The old man said as she looked at Carla's figure.

"Oh, she's my niece, Carla." Lisa replied as she patted the top of Carla's head.

"Greetings" Carla said as she performed a light bow.
