47 SEIZE THE DAY

Lily had a good night's sleep. She felt refreshed, energized, and ready for school. With a smile on her face, she saw her reflection in the bathroom mirror and said, "You are great, Lily. You can do it!"

Carpe diem, seize the day, she thought to herself.

After brushing her teeth, she went out of the bathroom, looking for her bag and books. The bag and books were on her messy desk. Usually, her desk was the most organized and cleanest area of her room. That morning, it wasn't. She might have had a long and good sleep, but that was because she finally finished all of her writing assignments for The Bugle.

You better be satisfied now, Duncan. I swear if you give me another set of assignments before the winter break I'd rip your favorite Aloha shirt to pieces, she decided.

She was on her way out of her room when in the corner of her right eye, she suddenly noticed a lone black leather jacket hanging on the wall.
