"So, why do you want to talk to me?" Lily went straight to the point.

Classic Lily McQueen, Ray thought, as he took in the sight of Lily sitting in front of him across the table. He winked at her as his way of greeting— pretty blues eyes shone with amusement. "I just want to see you today."

"What?" Lily was dumbfounded to finally learn the reason why she got the strange text message. He just wanted to see her. As always, she could not figure out Ray Carter. What should she say back to him? She had no clue. "Okay....."

That was an appropriate reply, wasn't it? She wondered.

"Manny makes delicious coffee. What do you think of that iced coffee you have there? The best coffee, isn't it?" Proud of one of his diner's bestsellers, Ray anticipated Lily's opinion, taking in the sight of her again.
