11 The Baby found on the steps

I rolled my eyes knowing she couldn't see them as I moved and turned back towards Nancy and grabbed the bags as we walked out of the store and headed to the car. I put the groceries up, but before I could get in, someone hollers, "Hey! Hey you!"

Blake. He walks up to the car as he says, "Do I know you? You smell awfully familiar."

Nope, no you do not, I say in my head. I could not say anything. I was frozen. However, I hear Nancy say, "No, sweetie, you don't, I'm sorry. That's my daughter Melinda. She doesn't talk much, so if you could excuse us, we have dinner to cook." Hallelujah. I get in the car and buckle up as I smile at her.

"Thank you so much." We drove back to Alpha Ryan's home as I finally realized I was starting to warm up to the place somewhat. We get out of the car to go inside,after grabbing the groceries of course, but when we make it inside everyone stops what they are doing and looks at us.

Present- Stella's POV

Everyone looks like they found out something, something that needs to be said. Nancy and I both stare back at them as we both, then, look at each other in confusion. We talk to each other with our eyes, like the thing that is called "the girl thing". Anyways, after asking each other why they were staring at us, we eventually came to the conclusion to carry in the groceries and ask the pack when we finished putting everything up.

We brought in the groceries quickly, especially when Nancy told the guys to go help, afterall we did buy a lot of groceries. After all of us put the food up, we all sat down in awkward silence until Alpha Ryan came down from his office.

As we watch Alpha Ryan come down, he looks at me and asks me, "Stella, do you know when- or let me rephrase- what day were you found at your packs door?"

Everyone looked at me waiting for me to answer. I was confused because I did not know why he just asked that question out of nowhere.

" U-uhmm no I don't know what day. " Why did he want to know that? I wanted to ask him but I did not want to sound rude.

" Ok Stella it was just for paperwork I have to do, " he said.

Paperwork? I didn't know they needed that for paperwork, but I don't do paperwork so I wouldn't know.

" Ok Al- Ryan, is there anything else you need for paperwork? " I am happy to give him whatever he needs as long as I can answer them.

" No, that's all I need Stella, " Ryan said.

I nodded my head while looking at Nancy in a questioning way. She shrugged her shoulders and shook her head.

I looked back over to where Alpha Ryan stood and he was gone. He must have went back to his office while I was looking at Nancy.

I looked back at her " what was that all about? "

Nancy ran her hand through her hair and shrugged " I don't know Ryan has never asked anyone that question and I don't even know if that is on the paperwork. "

My eyebrows scrunched together as I started to think, why did he ask me that? Why am I so special?

Nancy gasped really loud and looked at me " Maybe he's doing some kind of research and he needs information for it. "

" I mean you could be right but why is he doing research on me? "

She shrugged again then looked out the window " Don't ask me, I don't know much about Alpha business. "

" Yeah I guess you are right. " I stood up and stretched because I was starting to get stiff. " Nancy, do you know where the room I was in is?

" Yep, you go upstairs, turn right, and it is the 3rd door down. " She used her hands as signals. I noticed that Nancy talks a lot with her hands.

" Ok, I got it Nancy. Thank you. " I waved goodbye at everyone and followed the directions that Nancy gave me.

Ok, she said turn right and the 3rd door down. I walked to what I assume was the 3rd door down and walked inside the room.

I looked around in confusion when I noticed that this room was really dark and everything was moved around. I looked towards the window as I saw someone sitting in the window seat.

" H-hello? " I asked quietly as I did not want my voice to shake.

The person slowly turned around and looked straight at me. Some of the light came through the window and shined on her face. I could see her features more clearly.

With hesitant foot steps I walked closer to her. " I-i'm sorry, I did not mean to barge in your room uninvited. "

She smiled softly and said " It is ok dear, I am not mad. "

I looked more closely at her and noticed a few things. She almost looked exactly like me. The only difference was the eyes and the nose.

She had hazel eyes and as everyone knows I have rainbow eyes. I did not want to make a big fuss about it so I just pushed it into the back of my mind for now.

" I should probably go find my room now, I am sorry again for disturbing you. " I quickly turned around and walked back into the hallway shutting her door.

I ran my hand through my hair, why was she in that room? Why is it so dark in there? I hope she isn't a prisoner.

I looked around and realized my mistake, I turned left instead of right. I slapped my hand against my forehead and shook my head.

Why are you so stupid Stella. I went down the right hallway and went to the 3rd door. I slowly walked in and sighed in relief as I saw it was the right room.

Out of nowhere I started to get really tired, I walked over to the bed and fell on top of it. I'll change out of my clothes when I wake up. My eyes started to drop as I could not keep them open anymore.

Do I even have clothes? I'll worry about that when I wake up. My eyes completely closed and I fell asleep on the cloud that's called a bed.
