1 Prologue

"You're a monster. That's what you are—a selfish young man!" One of the stunning women within the Heiston empire cried out.

She has changed from who she once was. However, the man in front of her doesn't pay attention to her screams, expressions of sympathy, or pleadings.

She is nothing more than a tool in the hands of the handsome man. For his chess pieces, she didn't count anything more than a pawn.

She promptly vomited blood into her hand-covered mouth. Her entire body was shaking at this point, and her eyes appeared to be fuzzy. She didn't stop, though, gazing at the man in front of her.

"Lady Victoria, I'm astonished you only found out about it now."

"Why did she live that night? Did you allow her to live? You promised me to murder her that night."

"…"

Instead of responding, the man simply grinned at the young woman. They were situated inside the Chutlier Duchy in the Lady's chamber. The magnificent blonde hair of the man in front of her sparkled like the sun's golden rays against the moon's light illuminated their area.

What an irony. The man that her father adopted was this knight. He's her personal knight. Though, opposite to his supposed role, he appeared to murder his Lady nonetheless before carrying out her commands.

Victoria didn't see that her lips were gradually moving higher at one point. She is now laughing so loudly and menacingly that everyone outside may hear her. But no one bothered to listen to such noises. The idea is that the empire's magnificence only resulted in the slaughter of her whole family.

"I believed you were into me after that night, and I thought you were following all of my instructions, but I guess they were just your horrible facades—you never dared to treat me honestly, George," Victoria said with her breathless voice while still spitting blood from her mouth

The man grinned once again. He never bothered to speak to her until they heard footsteps outside the room, at which point Victoria started to shudder and felt as though her heart was leaving her body. She can only listen to her heart thudding and the footsteps outside of her body, which she wishes she could remove from her body.

She finally realized what was happening when she overheard his maniacal, demonic laughter.

"I say, you're a scumbag. You sold your own master, you monster!" But every scream she let out was accompanied by a throbbing in her throat.

She could feel the anguish and the hot blood dripping from her mouth. However, George said something that caused her to frown at him again.

"You won't live long enough before you die."

"So what are you waiting for, George Thelois? If you're going to betray me in the end, you should have murdered me that night!"

Then the man is struck. He was moving close to the young lady in front of him. But as soon as she said the man's entire name, he suddenly lost his tenuous grip on his composure.

He immediately and firmly gripped the woman's neck, despite the fact that she was struggling to breathe. She kept spitting blood out of her mouth. His fair white hands were covered in the lady's blood. Instead of being turned off by the red ink, the man's lips kept getting higher, and his eyes were so big that they seemed to be clapping in response to it.

"Who gave you the idea that you could address me by my full name, Victoria?"

He spoke in a deep, menacing tone, intending to murder the woman. He didn't hold off on killing the woman till the proper man came along. Victoria had upset him, which was the reason. She was aware of his frailty, but she hadn't anticipated how fast he would lose control of the situation.

"Kill me now," the young lady said, igniting the fire within the young man.

She said the words that made the man laugh in a mean way as many times as she could.

"As you please, Lady Vic—"

The person who interrupted George before he could complete what he was about to say was not just someone.

The young man was about to continue when he heard someone laughing and cheering in front of the closed door. Even more unnoticed by him was the fact that the footsteps that had earlier been heard outside the lady's chamber were now inside.

With harshness, he threw the woman to the other side. Victoria, on the other hand, was gasping and trembling as blood continuously spilled from her mouth. Her eyes were lifeless as if she were about to pass away. Under her eyes, which had previously radiated brilliance with a gold hue, black rings developed. It was now just a useless shade of fading hue.

She made an effort to focus on the person who had prevented George from killing her. Her eyesight, though, was never perfect. She thought she recognized a familiar face. Her heart, though, continued to beat quickly. Every time her heart beat, she felt it. She realized the individual. In relation to the shadowy figure, she experienced the same warmth and cold.

However, when he spoke, she shivered with joy that someone had finally intervened to save her.

"Finally, Victoria, how did you get into this predicament?"

The man spoke softly. It made sense that his voice would continue to be alluring. But a monster lurks beneath that low, husky voice—a deep, perilous tone that no one can enjoy hearing.

"…"

She can't talk right now, though. She was pointing angrily at George and could only act on what had occurred. George, however, simply diverted his sight from the two when Victoria looked at him and was now gazing at the beautiful moon that was streaming from the enormous window.

"Victoria, What are you trying to say?"

"Uhhhh"

She made an attempt to talk, but it made her anguish worse. Then, more blood is released than normal.

"It's a shame because you're already dying."

At last, Charles arrived to help me. Charles will murder George with ease. Charles can't possibly defy my commands; I know that. Anyhow, we're going to get married. She had it in mind.

She can't help but elevate her lips as though she had a fantastic opportunity to defeat George because of this. But all she saw when she turned to face George was a serene glow. He looked like he was no longer crazy. Instead, he had a gentle, calm air about him.

What is he contemplating? Victoria added to her thoughts

However, she instantly turned her head to stare at Charles instead of George. But she had never before seen Charles smile at her. No one will find it amusing to gaze at this sneer.

"I wish I could help you, Victoria, but I'm afraid I can't. Oh no, it's so sad that you've turned out like this."

Then, while gazing at her miserable face, he was already holding her chin tenderly.

"Uhhhh"

Again, she tried to speak but was unsuccessful. Only that much blood began to flow down her throat again. Charles must have felt bad seeing her so helpless. Her lips began to gurgle, and blood dripped across his palms. He then focused on the blood on his hand instead of the lady's face.

He then burst out laughing. Compared to George's earlier laughter, that sort of laughter was the most diabolical.

'Huh?! What is going on? I had the impression that the person in front of me was someone entirely different. I no longer know Charles as I once did. Who is he? Victoria couldn't help but thin her eyes despite her thoughts and pain

"You are dying as a result of your scheme to have Hersha die in your place of you. Oh, look at this blood of yours. It's very great."

"H—-how?"

She was able to inquire there. It appears that Charles was not pleased with her speaking, though. He firmly groped her neck because of this. Then she kept spitting blood out of her mouth.

'What is going on? Why is it this way? He has never shown any interest in Hersha, as far as I know. Why?' Victoria was confused with her thoughts and what was unfolding right in front of her eyes

"I'll probably inform you before you pass away and regret not knowing the truth since it appears like you're pleading to know it."

What Victoria just heard absolutely blows her mind. All she was aware of was that she was unable to understand all that was taking place in front of her.

"It's because she's the only lady I've loved since we first met as children, and I fell in love with her at first sight."

"Ugh!"

Blood was pouring down her mouth, and she was immediately asking for oxygen as if she couldn't take it.

So they first met as young children? Why is that? Victoria added to her chaotic thoughts

"Hersha was my most devoted nanny's only daughter, and she was raised in the royal palace, but I have to pretend that we've never met because I need to protect her."

As a result, I'd spent my entire life playing his game. I was behaving as though I were just a piece in his game of chess. Victoria thought once more since she couldn't speak properly

"Oh, and I've had it with your constant attempts to assassinate Hersha. Thus, I'll be the one to murder you in place of George."

Why was that life so unfair? Her desire was to speak. She had, however, already given up trying.

She was well aware of her demise. She experienced regret, discomfort, and despair all at once.

She was still bleeding from her mouth when she started laughing hysterically.

"You'll regret turning me into your games Charles Heiston. Let's wait for that one day," she said.

The villainess, Victoria Chutlier, was then immediately beheaded by Charles, who appeared irritated.

"YESSSSSS!"

"It's time for supper, Anne, so please be quiet. However, could you buy this ingredient? Come here and walk your ass out, or else—"

"Coming!"

"Mom eventually yells for me just as the narrative is about to get thrilling! Ugh! I'm relieved that bothersome Victoria was already dead, though. Go, Charles! He is Hersha's genuine love, and she is very fortunate to have him," Anne whispered as she walked to the kitchen

The novel "The Obsessive Male Leads," in which there are not just one but four male leads, was Anne's favorite novel. When she found out that the crown prince had killed Victoria, she was so happy that she couldn't help but shout.

"That irritating Victoria should die anyhow," she said. She has a false sense of love for the royal prince. When he is there, she is unable to discern what is good or wrong. She's only thankful she's in a good mood, so she'll get the ingredients nonetheless.

"You know your father is still at work, your sister is busy with her schoolwork, and it appears you're the only one who isn't busy, so get your ass off here and come home earlier. Here, purchase this and this."

My mother is serious, in any case. She added to her thoughts before nearly rolling her eyes

"Alright!"

***

"Miss, here's your change."

"Thanks"

She is undoubtedly terrible for being strict about one ingredient only. However, just this time, tell me how the tale ended, Anne thought as she checked her phone to read the novel once more but...

*BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP*

Anne heard a vehicle while walking before she could even unlock her phone. She was instantly rendered helpless as she spotted the mysterious car. She just had one certainty: she would die.

Then she fell into darkness. She felt a thick liquid around her body before closing her eyes.

"Life sucks for me. My life ended just as I was about to learn the ending of my favorite book."

Through the chilly, lonely night, she was still able to whisper.
