6 Maxwell Boarding School for the Young and Rich Elites Part 1

We arrived at the school and said goodbye to Chad. Then we went towards the dorm building.

"Your ID, please." A young lady who was the receptionist asked us as we walked into the dorm building.

I gave her my school ID as did Tristian. After confirming our identities, she handed me and Tristian our room key.

Tristan turned around.

"Young Master, I will be going now. I will see you later after school." Tristan said and he gave me a bow before walking away.

Since he came here as my "servant" he would be staying at the other end of the building.

The Maxwell Boarding School for the Young and Rich Elites only had one dorm building; however, it was 5 times the size of an average dorm building because of the Young Masters and Young Misses who came from rich families, as well as their "servants", live there.

The west side of the building and the east side of the building was reserved for the rich heirs while the north side of the dorm building was for the "servants." The south side of the building was the common area where there were various activities and TVs. There were couches and snacks as well as a pool. The "servants" were permitted to enter the commoner area as long as they had permission from their "masters" to do so.

Today was Monday and classes started at 9 a.m. I took a glance and my watch. It was 7:10 a.m. I still had about 2 hours left.

I walked to my dorm room which was room 501. Since I took a leave of absence, they gave up my previous dorm room which was 473. However, I stopped. I forgot. All of my things must be with Kyle since my previous room was occupied by someone.

I will just ask about my things during class, I thought.

When I approached the dorm room, I unlocked the door and was startled when I realized that I would be the only one using this huge room.

The dorm rooms at the school were huge. It was enough to fit 100 people, yet only 2 or 3 people shared a room. There were exercise equipment and many other things in this room.

I spent my time brainstorming about the apocalypse.

I had about 3 weeks until the start of the apocalypse. A day before the apocalypse, it will rain black rain. Many people will come down with fevers and over the next day, those with fevers will either become ability users or turn into zombies.

I could not stay here even if this school had one of the best defenses. It was equipped with the state of the art practice equipment which may cause many to flock here. Also, there were about 4000 students plus 1000 teachers here. According to my calculations, 65 percent of the population came down with fevers. The total number of people within this boarding school was 5000 which meant that about 3000 will come down with fevers and out of those 3000, 2000 may become zombies. 2000 zombies and taking into account that those zombies will infect people, meant that this was a death trap.

Where could I go? Empire...However, the Empire base did not form until a year later.

If I remember correctly, Commander Winter traveled to City B and spent a little less than a year there. Then, he left along with his teammates to create a new military base called Empire located in City A. Maybe I could somehow team up with Commander Winter along the way?

Each city had a military base. However, before the start of the end of the world, the military base in City A was under heavy construction. After gaining strong comrades, Commander Winter traveled to City A, exterminated all of the zombies, and finished the construction work with his comrades who had wood, gold, metal abilities.

In my previous life, I had gone to City E with my family. At that point in time, Kyle and James had already been killed by the zombies. After awakening my rare lightning ability, the Greyson family urged me to go onto dangerous missions to receive the rewards. They guilt-tripped me. They told me that Kyle and James would be disappointed in me if I did nothing to help my family who I greatly despised.

So while my family was relaxing and spending their days leisurely in their fancy mansion, I was braving the harsh world, facing death at every turn.

During my various missions, I encountered Commander Winter many times that I found myself wanting to go out on another mission on my own accord just to see if I could meet him again.

Commander Winter's full name was Caspian Winters. Caspian Winter was the heir to the Winter Corporation, who not only rivaled the Greyson family in wealth but also influence.

The Greyson family was second to none, however, they had to bow down to the Winter Corporation. The Greyson family and the Winter Corporation runs way back, all the way back to the Han Dynasty.

The two great families were always rivals in each generation. They both started in the military and gradually branched out to the business world.

Compared to the Greyson family, the Winter Corporation had deeper ties to the military.

I was startled out of my thoughts when I heard my timer go off, which was a signal for me to get ready to go to class. I had about 10 more minutes until the beginning of class so I just grabbed my old black backpack and made my way towards my class.

When I walked into the classroom, it was deathly quiet. The voices I heard before I walked in instantly quieted.

Then I heard someone exclaim, "Is that Asher?!?"

"No way!"

"Was he this handsome before?!"

"Omg!!"

"He looks so different, is it just me, but did he get taller?"

I ignored their remarks and curious stares and walked in to take a seat.

Right when I sat down, James, Kyle, and Royce surrounded me.

"Hey man, are you okay?" Royce Pierce asked me.

"Ash, how did you grow that all within a month? What happened?" Kyle asked.

"Did Dr. Lin say that you were fine and okay enough to go to school?" James questioned.

All three of them looked at me expectantly.

"Yes, I am fine. Dr. Lin told me that I was perfectly fine and healthy." I said under their curious faces.

"Thank god!" Kyle exclaimed as he hugged me with a huge smile on his face.

Other students were shocked to see such a display of affection that Kyle gave me.

Kyle is my older identical twin brother. We both had the same red eyes and black hair however if we were to tell you that we were identical twins, you most likely would not believe us.

When we were younger, after our mother died, we were brought back to the Greyson estate.

We were mistreated by our step-mother. She would give us little to eat. I always gave my food to Kyle because before we came back to the estate, he almost died. My mother, Jules, told me to protect him. That was her final wish. Because I always gave my food to my brother first, it greatly stunted my growth. So Kyle was able to grow while I was not. I was fine with it, all that mattered to me was that Kyle was fine.

When Kyle is in public or with people he does not know/dislike, he had the tendency to become quiet and look gloomy which made it hard for people to approach him. So for him to suddenly smile and jump into my arms cause a great disturbance to our classmates.

Suddenly Kyle frowned.

"Why does it seem like you are taller than me?"

"Uhhh..." Before I could finish my sentence, the bell rang which meant class was about to begin.

After about an hour, we finally had a break.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a familiar brown-haired girl surrounded by about 4 girls.

Her name was Emily Katz and she was 17 years old. Emily was always being bullied by those girls. Although her family was more richer and powerful than the other girls, she was still bullied due to her kind-hearted nature. Even though those girls bullied her, she did not want to get them in trouble.

I remember that in my previous life, I befriended her 2 years ago. She was part of the team, however, whenever we were in public, she asked us to not let anyone know that we knew each other.

I motioned for her to come over here.

Her eyes widened in shock as she pointed her index at herself. Her eyes showed a hint of fear.

The girls who were without her instantly shot her their head back and saw our group. They sent a death stare towards Emily and I could tell they were seething with jealousy, for what, I don't know.

I motioned yet again for her to come over here. She put her head down so that her brown hair covered her face and she slowly made her way over here.

She shyly peeked through her hair.

"What are you doing over there, Em?"

"I-uhh...I...um." Emily Katz stuttered nervously glancing back towards where the group of girls was. She was clasping and squeezing her hands.

"It's okay Em," James said with a gentle smile. "Don't worry, I won't let them hurt you."

As soon as she heard James's statement, Emily blushed and nodded her head.

She cautiously stepped forward so that she was closer to us.

Although one may pause and wonder why I would even bother with Emily as you all might think she is weak and a burden to us, that is simply not the case. It was the opposite.

Emily Katz was the only child in her family, thus her father hired professional fighters to teach her. Emily was stronger than the average person and after the 1st awakening, she awakened a wood ability.

Utilizing the ability to the finest one could ever imagine, she was one of the strongest ability users.

When zombies broke loose at school, she somehow escaped. When I was on one of my missions, I encountered her and Caspian. Emily was one of Caspian's teammates, but I had no clue how that came to be.

I looked at all of them seriously.

"Let's meet after school, in my dorm room. I have something important to tell you guys."
