Chapter 6: Kick-starting our plans

The whole family is in the table eating but my mind was anywhere but there since I am so excited about buying man United, it never got one came to my mind that it's possible our purchase bid is not accepted, rather what is in my mind are the actions I want to take when(not if) my bid is accepted. Son! son!! Isaac!!! was all I barely hear before I was stoned with the ketchup bottle.

"What is it ma?" I look up and ask.

"Well what is it that got your total attention and made you absentminded on the table to the extent that you can't hear your father and I calling you and you still refuse to eat your food". mom asks exasperatedly.

"Nothing ma in particular I was just recalling some good times is all". I reply

"Don't bother trying to cover up I know you well enough to know that only when you are anticipating something you so love do you become absentminded". she says. And I know that you being a die-hard fan of Manchester united you will be jumping at the chance to be at the helm of the club.

"Well it's not that alone, I am happy to be meeting some of my friends very soon as well". I try to explain.

Okay whatever you say, well your father and I after having talks together decided that you can go but, ....

"Thank you ma, I really appreciate it", I hug her while thanking her.

"Let me land you baffoon, if you dare spend two months without coming home to check in us, then that is the end of your trip. She warns.

"Alright ma no problem", I say

"And you must call me everyday to check in my wellbeing preferably if you make video calls. Are we clear?" she asks.

Yes ma, we are and don't worry I will call you so much you ask me not to call you again.

Well just be on your best behavior, no minging around with kids with bad character, don't date girls without background, sleep before 9:00pm and try to get at least eight hours of sleep every day. I heard the place is very cold too, don't open the windows and try to get a thick duvet.

You know what, I think I will get those for you, knowing you,.you most probably would not remember to buy those little essentials.she says.

I just kept smiling through out her nagging no amount of nagging can make me argue with her and make her change her mind. Not like all she said put a dent in my exuberant mood. All I care about is that two days later I am going to be in England trying to buy my favorite club and getting it's future in my hands hahahahahahahaha.

"And you old man....., she begins but I tune them out while trying to see if I missed anything in my plan.

Thirty minutes later I realized it was only me on the dinning table and stood up to go to my room. Barely in,. Maryam came in and asked me if I told my parents I am going with her which I told her I did and then she asked me what time in particular are we going, I told her at 12:00pm on Sunday is when the flight will move, since we have a private jet and don't need to just waste time booking for flight.

After confirming the details of our movement, she left to prepare. After she left I decided to jot all my plans down and give a number to them.

* Entering negotiations for the purchase of a club while doing research on its financial state (preferably man United)

* Buying a club and running agenda to increase its popularity (probably challenging a club or it's history).

* Trying to run the club into a well working machine where all parts of it support each other and are the best.

* Creating a football empire.

The basis of my plans working well is to purchase a club before the world cup.and I use that avenue to run propaganda and build momentum. Using the time when the world cup is running, getting to know the inner workings of the club while trying to draw a plan based on that since I am sure any body that see how basic my plan were would laugh at my naivety but I don't want to make plans that even with how good it is if it does not match the cubs needs, then I would be a bad owner right from the start just like a lovely family does.

Two days and several meetings later, me mad my group were ready to rumble. we were 12 consisting of;

pls fellas, the novel is about to enter the club purchase saga, pls ideas and advice would be appreciated since no man is an island of knowledge, a ball critic is not a fin advisor nor a sport scientist nor a transfer guru. so I need ur advice and ideas..Thank you.
